No where is that ever stated some Reddit people thinking to hard into it simply said that and it caught on.

Tanjiro having Fire related powers has been hinted at since chapter 1, hinted at even moreso when he got his sword, and since then he hasn't gained a single new breathing style unless you wanna count the "invisible world" or whatever it's called.
