That's not even what kept me watching. I really enjoyed how much the show pushed the procreation narrative and the whole rebuild the world and don't allow people to control your lives. Leaving life to run its course through the natural order was being done really well then took a giant shit.

Because one of the cornerstones of anime as a medium is fast turn around times done economically with a slim budget. If you don't like that, then there are the animation industries of other countries for you to consider.
