It should start with the Red Ribbon saga, then go to the android saga, Saiyan saga, Frieza saga and finish with the Cell saga.

I feel it wouldn't make sense for human cyborgs to be stronger than the saiyans, the whole super saiyan thing could wait until the Frieza saga, meanwhile 17 and 18 could either turn good and help during the fight with the saiyans or be destroyed during their own saga.

The whole Cell thing could have some foreshadowing here and there with people going missing and the little insect Gero used to collect info appearing sometimes as an Easter egg

That's 5 separate movies, and arugably the best one would be the 4th movie in the franchise. I dont think that sounds too realistic

Your idea could work as a tv series, and it would be a rather interesting twist to the anime and manga. But the first movie would have to appeal to normies, and if the franchise doesn't have a strong start it would probably be cancelled.

Honestly if it had good martial arts and cgi and some competent writing I'd enjoy it. If Marvel and DC can shit out mediocre fight scenes and have basedboys eat it up as amazing battles then Dragon Ball can't mess it up too bad, provided it has a staff that actually cares about the movie.

Path to Power is a pretty decent way to adapt various bits of Dragon Ball while maintaining a more direct narrative. Goku doesn’t need his heritage explained, you get more technology stuff to see Goku face, a cool fight with a Chinese assassin, culminating in the destruction of the army with the final Dragon Ball. Then you could make whatever wish worked. Maybe if you wanted closure make the wish bringing Grandpa Gohan back to life after he was gunned down by the soldiers for his 4-star ball.

You start with History of Trunks. You teach the audience about the world, the super powers, and characters through gohan training trunks and telling him about the past.

The makeup/costumes wouldn't be too difficult for the heroes or villains (androids).

S1 starts with Goku defeating Frieza on earth in trunk's timeline.

S1 ends with an episode that is almost the same as episode 1 (people love repetition), but with Trunks killing frieza.

Make it seem like Gohan is the main character. Make the plot that Gohan is going to go back in time. Bait and switch to Trunks who is even weaker upping the tension.

You can tease all of the regular cast via kid Trunks asking Gohan about the past. I'd do it so that the halfway episode of season 1 is where Trunks asks Gohan about his father as his mom is usually vague. Gohan then recalls Vegeta's actions and the whole episode is from the perspective of a younger gohan the day Vegeta was killed by the androids.

Don't show Goku until the last episode. Make seeing him the reward for the whole series.

Season 2: Again people like repetition. Make it seem like Trunks is the main character trying to save the past (this switches to teen Gohan later). This should end with Cell's appearance.

Season 3: Starts with Cell absorbing that guy with the money. Ends with Trunks defeating the androids.

By then you could easily tease 'hey remember that guy that goku and trunks killed, what was he about', 'why does vegeta has this hate-boner for goku', to do Saiyan -> Frieza.
