Which was that a better storyteller would have Char's speech coincide with their graduation so that everything ties together neatly and we don't waste panels on exposition dialogue for a time skip to get us to graduation.

You can write the same story but time the school events to the plot events so that they line up perfectly and nobody would think it was rushed.

He confessed at the very beginning, most of their lovey-dovey chapters turned into joke chapters and he at most got a smooch or two for 3 years of dating. They could at least get one more serious chapter of them being a couple. There were numerous jokes during the manga of how Romio acts like a pure maiden and it actually seems to be accurate.
