The fan translation isn't great, but the official one is just terrible. I started out reading the official english version and quit halfway through the first volume because it was so poorly done.
Ended up reading the rest of the series on the fan site. Nigel quitting is unfortunate, but since the series seems to be dying anyway I suppose it isn't as bad as it could be.
