That's Phantom. Would have been mentioned in S1 if the director didn't have a hard on for skipping plot points.

Why is this director unable to do decent adaptations? He also fucked up Digimon.

Remember back in season 1 episode 1 Shidou had a dream of someone talking to him but we only saw a mouth? That's her, of course is hard to know that since they skipped absolutely everything about her.

Fuck thanks for reminding me. I never watched s3 and the first days of the week never air any series I care about.

True end

Why didn't he skip random SoL scenes instead of this?
I mean I get that every skipped scene is terrible, but I rather have 5 minutes less of coffee drinking than a series that skippes plot relevant stuff so that later scenes will come out of nowhere or not even make sense.

How in the world did S3 manage to sell 2.5k for both bundles when it was clearly a low effort project?

The same way S2 managed to sell 6k average. The diehard fans of the series would eat any shit they throw at them.

Becuase the staff in charge of the series is incompetent. Especially the director Keitaro Motonaga and the chief animation director Koji Watanabe, he's the guy that was in charge of the horrendous key visual we got. A lot of nips were so mad with him that they literally changed the guy and replaced him with another guy to take care of the promotional art. You no longer see fucked up anatomy in promotional art.

Because the director adapted the series as a comedy. They even skipped important plot points in S1 that pretty much explains how girls turn into spirits.

I wonder hoy many more they'd have sold had they done a decent job.

So I'm not retarded, material was just cut? It felt like a typical high school LN adaptation because I never fucking understood what was going on.

Fuck I remember this, it wasn't even the only series though different artists I guess but I am always baffled when they choose incompetent artists for fucking kay visuals and magazine artworks and the likes.
I am not even an actual fan of this series but it was good enough to watch it - kinda wanted to keep it anime only but I guess I will read the LNs afterall. I at least want to see the actual story and not these adaptions with a budget of a toast.

It's not like it was impossible to understand, you just need to play attention to what is being said at certain times. But they cut out a lot of content, especially Phantom.

It just felt like the typical light novel adaptation where seemingly important things are only given enough information to understand through the viewer's assumptions, which to me seems retarded and makes me feel lost.

Koji Watanabe is the guy responsible for the shitty looking characters in promotional art and certain episodes. I remember reading some comments of nip fans around 2 months ago, expressing their joy the official twitter was not posting promotional art drawn by Koji Watanabe. I agree, just look at how fucking idiotic he made the characters look.

Attached: kojiwatanabe.jpg (720x720, 75K)

No, lots of events were foreshaowed many volumes prior to said event and info was contantly being spoonfed to you, especially in the earlier volumes. In the first season, you were supposed to see how Kotori turned into a a Spirit but it was cut out.

This is really weird and some entry level artist shit. It looks like he was drawing the pose but tried to 1:1 copy or even trace the details from official character designs and just slapped them onto his bad anatomy like a skin.

That's literally what he did with the key visual for S3. He copied and pasted all the faces. There was one chinese fan who took his time to fix this thing as well. It was that bad, the staff is so incompetent that so many nips want them all fired.

Attached: key visual.jpg (700x1010, 217K)

>Why didn't he skip random SoL scenes instead of this?
Because random SoL scenes=more screentime for waifus instead of boring ol' plot (producer logic)

It's really fucked because eye positioning is literally the very first thing you learn as an artist.
And if you wouldn't have told me I would have assumed your pic to be an edit. How the hell can people believe fans wouldn't see this? This must be the laziest shit I have seen in a long time to be honest. Glad I saw this thread it makes me eager to read the novels instead.

Attached: 6i6237.png (554x546, 531K)

It's not really hard to understand what's going on but since the anime never explained the spirits origins the watcher only had to assume they came from somewhere.

>it's not hard to understand except for the basis of the entire show
Obviously it makes sense on a macro level but when seemingly important parts aren't even remotely explained it leaves the viewer feeling confused.

The synopsis already describes the girls as otherwordly beings so that is probably what most people assumed they were, that they were aliens or simply came from another world, in the BDs Tohka even described she just appeared out of nowhere in the spirit world but she was the exception since every other spirits turned into one the same way.

The sealing powers were given little relevance as well due to the first season being mostly a comedy giving the impression those powers were an excuse to make the MC date girls. You know, the usual nonsense you see in series for the audience to self-insert.

Oh, believe me, if there is something S1 did right compared to the other seasons is adapting the humor well. However, this was only the case because the first 4 volumes were in fact light hearted for the most part.

The chinks were way more enraged, I don't think Japan cared that much.

Probably way more, even the Chinese fanbase (they like the series more than Japan) hated the season and they actually enjoyed the trainwreck that was S2.

Was he the one who gave Shidou those stupid hair horns? Whoever thought that was a good decision should have been replaced before the anime even aired.

They changed him at least, they nips were fed up with this guy and they no longer post his stupid art. Season 3 had two chief animation directors. I think they gave this task to the other director becuase the promotional art no longer looks like shit.
>Was he the one who gave Shidou those stupid hair horns?
I assume he was.

Attached: fv.jpg (1500x1027, 326K)

I like how all of the girls except for clock fag have the exact same copy and paste face

Cute Kurumi's!

>clock fag
Didn't know a fan made it into the key visual.

The face is the same, they just edited the mouth.

That is probably what they director was aiming for. The girls are aliens, Shidou has sealing powers because is the gimmick of the series to make it harem, etc.

This is such a common shit in my country. There are thousands of talented artists out there you could even easily find on the net and yet all official shit is drawn by some wannabes with the talent of a 12 year old on deviant art.

That is not even the biggest problem. S1 had a filler episode for not good reason. The season could have been a lot better but they decided to add that shit.

Didn't they reveal Phantom's true identity during the pre-screening to a bunch of animeonlys? They really didn't care about the anime and knew this was the last season it was getting.

You can basically see it in the key visual user.

Yeah, but it's been years since we've had any decent looking promotional art. This is the first time in years they did something right.

Attached: promo art s.jpg (758x512, 163K)

I forgot about that. They really showed Reinen in her spirit form.

See what?

>Reinen

This was such a shitshow. The copy pasted faces, Shidou's dumb hair, his misaligned eyes, hiding Natsumi's identity of all things while showing spirit Origami. So many retarded decisions in a single pic.

Those SoL are some of the best, later they are replaced by pointless fanservice that is not even lewd and the short stories got hit the hardest by this change.

You can thank Koji Watanabe for that.

You mean this pic? JC Staff sure went full lazy with the key visual and the entirety of the season.

Attached: Duzp0vOWsAA5E1F.jpg (860x1200, 290K)

Even if you ignore the obvious copy/paste you can still tell the character are not well drawn.

Origami and Tohka faces on the right still look a bit weird but at least the bodies look fine.

Sorry for typing too fast user.

At least it makes a difference when they don't have the same faces.

It would have made a difference, just look at the fan version not only it did that but the art also looks better, like S1 art.

Episode 2 was the closest to look like S1 followed closely by episode 8. Too bad Kadokawa didn't give a shit and prioritised getting an unfinished show out in winter.

I think that was JC Staff decision since OPM aired next season but then again, DAL III could have aired this season instead. I think they aired it too early because they didn't know when the series was ending.

They showed a bit of her in season 1 during Kotori's arc but they used a darker filter and didn't have a specific shape.

I'd bet it would have been better had they gotten rid of Motonaga and Watanabe.

Just replacing the director would have been a huge improvement. It's obvious he still treated the series like it was a comedy.

That body shape looks terrible too.

But the biggest contributor to this season being shit was Watanabe. He's the guy who drew the key visual and with that alone it turned off a lot of potential viewers.

Season 2 did the same with its first episode but at least the twins arc was decently adapted, the art was above average and they gave enough episode without rushing. S3 doesn't even have that. Natsumi's arc was rushed, half of the episodes adapted looked terrible, Origami's arc suffered similar problems with terrible art each two episodes, bad animation, unnecessary extended scenes like the fight with Tohka while shortening important ones like Origami realizing she killed her parents or Shidou's reaction to Origami being mindbroken, complete removal of monologues and inner struggles the characters had and the even rushed the finale of Origami's arc not showing she felt sorry and talking to the other girls.

S2 also looked bad, even with the shit art having a director that knows how to adapt the source material would have been the ideal.

It would have been an even bigger trainwreck if they had used all the good looking episodes for Natsumi and left the bad ones for Origami though.

S2 was a different type of bad. There were actually some decent animators there but the QUALITY came from time restrictions. S3 QUALITY is them not having idea how to draw. Watanabe always uses thoss stupid hair horns on Shido for some reason.

But Origami's arc still looked bad, even the best looking episode was decent at best. It wasn't good and it didn't reach "so bad is good" levels like Miku's arc did. It was just a disappointment. Most people still remember S2 for the wrong reasons whereas S3 was forgotten by Japanese and Chinese fans after it ended. Hell, that chinese game did a better job than the anime to Origami's arc.

At least it would have been a hilarious trainwreck that way. The QUALITY in S2 was hilarious at times but S3 just looked bad.

So how did Shido and Phantom meet each other in the first place?

That is explained much later. The anime doesn't cover those volumes.

That's just this guy's artstyle.

Fuck. Forgot to post picture.

Attached: sa.png (854x462, 403K)

Explaining that would be spoiling the entire series since the very reason all this is happening is because their relationship.

Why did they have to butcher this scene anons?

Attached: Rinne.jpg (920x582, 38K)

It was the bad looking episode, sadly. They were hyping this scene in both the ending and opening but then the episode aired and it looked terrible, Her design was weird, she had an evil expression instead of the kind one, Shidou looked terribly drawn compared to her. I don't think they even used music and if they did then I missed because it was so bad, the scene was supposed to be both nostalgic and surprising for Shidou but everything felt so lifeless.

>two seasons later
>still no OVA announced
Yeah, I think the anime is finally dead.

There is a reason the main scene most people remember from S3 is episode 5. If you are going to make a shitty season at least make it entertaining

And how does that affect Nushi-sama!?

Attached: cute Mukuro in space.png (386x331, 224K)

>Finally dead.
>Decide to change artist for promotional art now after all these years.
Like the retards they are.

I was expecting at least one final OVA, even S2 got an OVA after the anime ended.

They'd just butcher whatever SS they'd adapt user. They need to get that director fired.

OVAs have better quality than standard episodes. If time was JC Staff main problem then an OVA should look good since they don't have to work in any other episode.

I doubt they'll adapt more of the LNs, since they butchered the last season. It's a shame because hypothetically speaking S4 would be great. But the same thing happened to Blade Dance.

I wasn't talking about the LN, the previous OVAs adapted short stories so new OVA should adapt another one. Kotori Birthday or Yoshino Fireworks OVAs would be perfect.

>hypothetically speaking S4 would be great.
Every season after S2 would be great but you already see what they did to S3, they reduced great content to a shitty low effort season. I don't want them to defile the LN anymore, especially Mukuro. They'd gain my trust again if they fire the director and that useless chief animation director. Nips agree too.

Attached: angry nip DAL.png (585x485, 70K)

But the anime was supposed to get a new staff when ISM died. It's obvious they won't change the director even if another studio and staff change happens.

Changing studios is way more complicated. You get nw staff atogether and it should be as easy to change the director. Anybody else could take over, one that has common sense and isn't incompetent. Series that are even less popular have better directors.

We already got two studios changes and the director remains the same. It's not gonna happen and after two butchered adaptations plus the novel ending soon there is not reason for a new season, just make a final OVA. It shouldn't be that hard.

I thought you didn't want more DAL anime user.

Attached: sn.jpg (1280x720, 181K)

I was expecting an OVA. It doesn't adapt the novel so there is nothing to butcher and the animation should be better than the season.

That said though, there's been a lot of DAL merchandise lately. And they're not having the retarded Watanabe drawing his messed up anatomy so that might be the reason they're seliing decently.

Ever since season 2 ended they have released tons of mercandise and remember the only reason they made a third season was to sell merchandise so of course they are going to sell as much shit as possible before the final volume is released. They are just milking this dying cow.

>create an entire design with face and eveything for unseen character
>put a filter on her to hide her design anyway
I don't get. Why not just draw the silhouette.

Nobody wants more anime because it butchers the novels. OVAs are harmless.

at least the DAL VN's give me sex scenes

Only the first game has implied sex.

Fantasia Bunko has delayed the next volume though. It was supposed to come in september but it's not there. They're really trying to keep the series around a litle longer. As much as I hate S3, it made some money, it was licensed by a bunch of streaming companies, in fact while S1 and S2 were only licensed by funimation, S3, was licensed by funimation, crunchyroll, animelab and a few others which I can't remember. Even though chinks hated S3, it was the season with most viewership and BDs sold decently sor the shitshow it was and how overpriced it was. They're selling lots of new figures, mousepads, shirts, dakimuras, keychains etc. You could it was a success of a season.

Attached: ksm.png (705x590, 637K)

I know user

But OVAs are anime, user.

Delayed? I never heard anything about the release date, but it has always been around September to November with the Encore replacing release date a few times.

It's a different category, unless we are talking about OVA exclusive series no one thinks about OVAs when discussing an anime season and OVAs have different production values.

Yeah and next volume isn't on the list. They're trying to keep the series from ending at the moment. Otherwise we'd already know of the date when next volume releases which we don't. We also got an encore in July which is odd since that's never happened before.

I wouldn't call it like that unless you consider milking a series a success. At this point the series could be turned into a gacha or some shit and they would still keep selling more merchandise until its popularity dies, just look at the short stories. Fanservice, what if and non-canon stories to pander to whatever audience buys these. The LN isn't safe either with the final arc featuring filler in its very first volume. I don't care about the "success" of the series if that means turning it into a money making machine.

>turning it into a money making machine.
Have you seen these succesful franchises like Fate, SAO? Greedy fags would want to get their hands on such things and turn it into a money making machine. In fact, the chinese game is a free-to-play RPG mobile game, which includes gacha, that also makes money. Kadokawa never had nice intentions for the series, at least Tachibana has openly expressed his desire to end the series soon. Other authors would continue just to milk the series dead.

Tachibana should have ended the novel two volumes ago, but he wanted to release 10 Encores to fulfill a stupid whim so he is extended it. I don't think this has to do with Kadokawa's decision or else the anime would be airing this season with better animation.

>Tachibana should have ended the novel two volumes ago
Why would he end the story in the same volume Mio is introduced? Come on user. Defeating Mio should have taken 3 volumes at least. He was doing well until the retard decided to steal the spotlight again.

The moment Tachibana made Mio too powerful he planned to get rid of her to focus on Tohka next arc. This should have ended with her introduction or in volume 19 because there is not way they can beat her in combat and this isn't an action series either. If he wanted some believable drama with stakes he should have made Shinji's corrupted memories the final antagonist considering it's been foreshadowed since volume 1 that those memories had such a negative impact on Shidou and even in volume 18 he could feel the negativity of those memories.

Shidou being the final antogonist would have been way too cliched. Probably even worse than what Tachibana is writing now.

Not Shidou but Shinji, Mio planned to make Shinji the main personality so that could have made for an interesting plot point especially when we know a powerful spirit can divide itself into two separated entities like it was the case with Mio and Reine or in this case Shidou and Shinji.

What we got right now is much worse, first volume is filler with pointless drama that could have been avoided if the main heroine wasn't so stupid. This is the first time I see someone dying not because of illness, curse, getting killed, etc but because the character was too stupid to realize taking a power, she experienced beforehand, was going to kill her.

Dummy user, did you even read? The fact that Mio died also meant the Sephira Crystals were gonna dissapear as well. Meaning all the Spirit would turn back to being human beings. Except Tohka, she would dissapear too since she's a pure Spirit. All Tenka did was buy time. She was gonna die anyway. Note that I don't like volume 21 either but this made enough sense, only the execution was idiotic.

That is exactly the problem, this all could have been avoided if Shidou was the one taking the crystal like it was meant to happen. You said she was buying time but she died and Shidou has the powers now so we wasted an entire volume just to go full circle and return to the plot point of Shidou taking the powers and this is not even considering the fact Shidou still promised Kurumi he was going to change the past so all this was ultimately pointless because Shidou was going to get all the powers eventually and whatever he does in the past could rewrite everything.

This is just as idiotic as Mio not killing Westcott during all these years when she was responsible for the deaths of so many girls.

I haven't read many novels that are free of plotholes. Mio not killing Westcott is a plothole but then you understand Tachibana had to keep him around for decades just for plot purposes.

There was not need to keep him around, Ellen could have replaced him just fine and there are several other evil guys on DEM. The only reason Tachibana kept him around was to kill Mio off. Hell, it would have made a lot more of sense for Ellen to do that since she felt betrayed by Elliot and he also loved Mio so killing her could have been one of her main motivations throughout the series.

It's like the author doesn't use what the series has and instead thinks of contrived ways to accomplish something.

You're just giving Westcott's role to Ellen and that doesn't make much of a difference, Ellen might be a slightly more grounded character but killing Mio off is a bad move so it wouldn't make so much difference.

>You're just giving Westcott's role to Ellen
That is the point. Westcott is so unnecessary that you can make Ellen take his place in the story and not create any contradiction whatsoever, if Tachibana wanted to make the decision of killing Mio one volume after introducing her at least make it happen in a believable way and not in such a retarded way using a pointless character.

Hell, if you want me to continue, Mio killing Westcott could also serve as motivation for Ellen to take revenge on Mio. Then you have a revenge story with Ellen losing her two friends one with was killed and the other who betrayed her then in order to take revenge she would aim to destroy Ratatoskr and the person that Elliot loves. See? Now you have a character with a backstory and motivations that actually fit with Tachibana's decision of killing Mio and not a living plot device like Westcott that should have been killed by Mio 30 years ago.

Origami a shit. A SHIT.

Have you anons greeted the cute spirits yet?

Attached: DALs.jpg (680x585, 171K)

>no white pupils
Who are them?

Remember when Tachibana had only planned the series to be 10 volumes? I'm sure he noticed Ellen would have been a better antagonist but he'd alrady written many volumes to back down from the already established plot, user.

Found you, you son of a bitch. Now give me my 99 Master Balls.

Natsumi is supposed to be ugly though.

user.

Attached: 06.jpg (700x394, 165K)

Wrong thread.

Is it 2013 again?

That user comes here from time to time.

I think he was making a Missingno joke.

I don't think anyone on DEM was supposed to be a real threat other than Ellen but even then Mio certainly was the main antagonist. He just realized after extending the series Westcott had not real role so he decided to use him as plot device to kill Mio. You can tell it was a decision he probably made at the last moment considering he lost to fucking Shidou and then it turned out he could become Mio tier if he wanted. Just pure retardation.

Some anons post that to remember simpler times.

Mio definitely had a more antagonistic role in the original story having a few spirit followers at the time. I don't think DEM was supposed to have such relevance at first considering Ellen was the only one who could fight spirits.

>implying she's not still shit even now

I don't think she is. Miku is, but other than that I don't mind any of the other spirits.

Then you need to kill yourself Origamishitter.

This is how Natsumi actually looks like, without make up and all that shit.

Attached: [HorribleSubs] Date A Live S3 - 03 [720p].mkv_snapshot_21.02_[2019.08.27_17.54.40].jpg (1280x720, 454K)

She already had her share of despair user. She learned the hard way she was a shit person.

Attached: Dead Origami.jpg (1200x675, 103K)

Koji Watanabe needs to fuck off.

It fits better with her character.

She isn't

She is, kill yourself Origamishitter.

>he lost to fucking Shidou
He didn't lose to Shidou. He lost to Shidou, Miku and Natsumi. Also he couldn't become MIo-tier of powerful, he needed Mio to appear to do that, he couldn't do that whenever he wanted.

He had a chance to get rid of Westcott in Natsumi's arc since that was an actual subplot going on with other DEM higher ups wanting him dead but Tachibana doesn't kill characters unless the plot demands it, just see Nia, no role or purpose but he kept her alive anyways.

But that doesn't make sense, at that point there wasn't anything that foreshadowed the spell other than him acting like everything went according to his plan or some shit and Kurumi even extracted Nia's crystal, it was also stated that the power of the inverse crystal was affecting his body so it makes even less sense for him to be able to become Mio tier just one or two volumes later. It's just plot convenience that he couldn't use before since we didn't know how it worked until the very volume it was revealed. Don't you realize how stupid all this is? He is making shit up on the spot and expecting the gullible fans to believe like it was a established thing and it totally makes sense with what we know so far. The same way quasi spirits were introduced only for them to be irrelevant for the rest of the novel or the "purification" which, again, had no impact for the novel, or the whole thing with Dark Tohka taking the crystal which went to nowhere and only delayed what Shidou was meant to do at the end of volume 19 by an extra volume.

Quasi Spirits have nothing to do in the main LN, they can't live outside the other world. They were only introduced to make Kurumi's spin off novel possible. The only plot conviences I've seen so far are Westcott turning into the Second Spirit of Origin and Tohka taking Mio's crystal and Mio not killing Westcott. Other than that I can't see what's so unenjoyable, I don't expect top-tier writing from a harem.

I'm not expecting high quality writing either but those ideas I mentioned are either bad writing or just pointless additions to the series, it doesn't expand on the lore, world building or whatever and like you said, it was a mere excuse to give some space to Kurumi's spin-off which is so disconnected from the series that it could have been its own standalone series unrelated to DAL.

Do you want me to keep naming more problems with Westcott master plan that turned him into Mio tier? Okay, let's go, the fact he knew how to create such spirit whereas Mio went to the trouble of making Shidou seal all the spirits. This raises the following questions: How did Westcott knew the spell would turn him into said spirit rather than summoning a new one? How did he know it was possible to become so powerful when the only spirit they could investigate was Nia? With this being the case, wouldn't that mean the most Westcott could learn is to become a normal spirit instead of someone like Mio. Now you can answer that Westcott used Nia's power to seek the answers but how could he not learn about the fact he fucking died a few scenes after he acquired said power? Why didn't Mio use the same method to turn Shidou into the immortal being she wanted to create? and so on.

I could also speak about the whole "spirits can carry more than 1 crystal at the time" shit but that brings tons of new issues.

>spirits can carry more than 1 crystal at the time
That was actually mentioned in volume 13, when Westcott said he was planning to take more Qliphas, implying one could host more than 1 crystal at a time. Don't try to destroy your brain by making it more complicated.

That is exactly where I wanted to go. Why would he need to do such thing when he had the spell? What made him think he could accomplish that when a single inverse cyrstal was too much for him? It's pretty much what happened to dark Tohka in the last volume. He would have died. The fact the spell, which was introduced much later, could do everything and more with not issue only serves to show it indeed was a last minute, or in this case volume, decision he made to get rid of Mio.

Had Mio know such thing was possible then she could have used the same method to accomplish her goal much sooner with each girl having two crystals or hell if there is not limit then let's give three crystals to a girl. Tohka was so easy to conquest why not give her 5 crystals. See where I'm trying to go? Tachibana likes to introduce shit without thinking how it would affect the rest of the series. What if next volume we are told that Shidou could seal spirits just by touching their chests? I understand you are trying to make find sense in what the authro writes but you only stop there at whatever intention the author has.

>I understand you are trying to make find sense in what the authro writes but you only stop there at whatever intention the author has.
Becuase I want to avoid making a mess of my head instead brainstorming and never reach conclusion. My intention with this series is to follow it to see where the plot leads me. Since the author is giving me a story, the least I could is have fun with it, it doesn't matter how many plotholes it has, this series was never meant to be over 20 volumes long so it's a given it'll have plotholes. But I don't want that to take away from my enjoyment.

Attached: cute Mukuro in cusual clothes.png (330x309, 159K)

Spoil me
I heard Yoshina went inverse at some point in the light novels. What happened and what was she like?

I also likes the series but that is exactly why is so easy to find the flaws because I like to give it time and learn about it. I wouldn't mind the plotholes and inconsistencies if they were minor things and not blatant issues that destroy absolutely everything that made me like the series up to that point. I mean, if all thigs happened halfway in the story it wouldn't be so bad because there is still a lot of room to tell a interesting story but the author ruined what could have been an interesting final arc with some of the most retarded writing and plot conveniences I've ever seen in a series that I followed for such a long time.

It's like the author got tired of planning the story and is just adding whatever he finds amusing for his own entertainment. I will still read the ending but seeing something you like ending in such shitty way is painful.

She didn't go inverse, that is only a design that was included in an artbook.

Why is she so dumb?

Attached: 847362189123.jpg (1920x1080, 469K)

She is like 5 years old.

Retard

The only problem with the final arc was killing off Mio. That's where all the plotholes emerge from. If Tachibana hadn't gone full Tohka, he could have avoided all of those but in the end, choosing to focus on Tohka brought more interest to the nips rather than what happened with Mio. It's in their blood, nips like to throw logic out of the window if it means they can write more about things they want to tell regardless of how retarded they can be.

Retard.

I agree, the series is not perfect by any means but it was still interesting to read since it focused on Shidou's journey and his link with Mio and Shinji was so good, there was so much potential and directions the series could take for the final arc but no one would have guessed that the author would kill the character he built up for almost 20 volumes just to focus on one the simplest character in the entire series. I can't even blame Toka for it since she is a just tool the author is using to tell the story. This is just Tachibana not giving a shit.

Artbook only. Yoshino was lucky they showed her inverse form.

She got the powers from Mio but not her intelligence.

How do you draw all the characters and forget they have white pupils?

Miku is worst girl.

There has been a few instances in early novels where Tsunako forgot to draw the white pupils.

Tsunako still makes a few mistakes here and there, especially with Shidou's height in volum 19. I think she forgot he is supposed to be taller than Reine.

Miku would be down for some threesomes or foursomes, which puts her ahead of a few of the other girls.

? All the girls would be okay with sharing if there is harem end.

Miku is the kind of girl who would accept to be in the harem only to take advantage of it and never fuck you. If that is what you like then just start an open relationship and see how long it lasts.

Loli Ellen was cute.

Is Tsunako working on something else?

Describe Kurumi using words that start with the letter S

Attached: __tokisaki_kurumi_date_a_live_drawn_by_tsubasaki__20e9859a2153cfa95b3bcdb4b48e7fee.jpg (1400x1600, 1.95M)

More Neptunia.

Sleepy

You mean in other series? Probably not, I still don't know why she decided to be the designer of a LN.

This was such a nice expression but it lacked Shidou's realization. I still didn't like how they skipped the soulbreaking scream before turning into inverse.

Well that Kurumi sure looks Smelly

Fuck off, Miku.

I thought only the first bundle sold around 2k.

Surprised by the lack of clockfags not that I want to jinx it ITT

Pretty good thread so far approching half-way

Why would anyone watch S3 willingly after how bad the reception was is beyond me.

How is that surprising? Clockfags rarely come to these threads.

Well, I doubt the thread will survive the night. Last thread happened less than two weeks ago.

If he watched season 2 then season 3 is just more of the same.

I want to touch Yoshino's butt.

Attached: Yoshino.png (850x1222, 843K)

I want a Yoshino Fireworks OVA

I think season 3 was worse than 2, all the arc were butchered and the action scenes were worse. JC Staff sure did an excellent job making a worse job than a dying studio with no budget.

They just hired janitors as the designers and outsourced shit.

Whoever was in charge of episode 2 must have been fired. That episode was perfect and so misleading from what the rest of the season was.

You just wanted someone to post "shit"

Too bad she is actually a hag.

The anime fucked up Phantom so bad that it would need a new adaptation to fix it.

It's JC Staff. What else did you expect?

DAL isn't popular enough to get such treatment, only classic series get that.

I don't think anyone expected S1 tier quality but how can a well known studio do such a bad job on par and maybe even worse than a studio on life support?

>how can a well known studio do such a bad job on par and maybe even worse than a studio on life support?
By being JC Staff.

Being adapted by JC Staff is gamble, just look at that isekai mom anime. It doesn't look nearly as bad as DAL or Index. Danmachi doesn't look bad either at least compared to those two.

Kadokawa is also guilty for not giving the season enough time to be made.

She became a freelancer since she had to move to somewhere more rural to care for elderly family. She still works but I assume it'll become rarer to see Tsunako's art, but she apparently had several hand-trained assistants all capable of emulating her style who are still fully accessible and ready to take on works.

Attached: 1429575447823.gif (500x281, 998K)

Other than DAL, which is ending soon, Neptunia seems to be the only series she is working as the designer.

If she has assistants that can replicate her art how comes Neptunia is still the main series that features her designs?

A shame she never got a hatefuck doujin.

I love DAL.

Reine is true end. And I will stand by this til until the end.

Attached: 1534519260954.jpg (580x823, 108K)

But she's no longer here, user.

They would need to remake the anime from volume 1 becuase the whole anime adaptation is bad.

JC Staff can make good anime so long it's them animating it, let the task to oyher studios by outsourcing and leave it to incompetent directors and chief animation directors such as Motonaga and Watanabe, and you get S3.

fucking zoomers

The thread survived the night. Phantom a cute!

Attached: k.jpg (960x540, 109K)

Why do they keep wasting their chances?

Who knows, maybe there are not enough japanese fans compared to chinese ones.

If nips didn't care enought they wouldn't be posting stuff like this though

It only take a single person to post that. There are Japanese fans but the amount of Chinese ones must be even greater. It wouldn't be the first time a LN/manga series is more popular outside Japan.

Ded

Season 1 is okay but it's mostly carried by its art and decent animation. S2 and 3 had none of that. If they want to redo everything they would have to change the tone of the series a bit since the beginning and obviously have good art.

The chinks also want Koji Watanabe fired. We do too I guess.

But S1 has a lot of important content skipped. If we go by the adaptation itself, it's bad.

I didn't say season should remain the same only that the art and animation should be on par with the original season if they want to redo it and of course remove the filler episode since that was the main reason we got so much skipped content.

Really, all the season could have been better adaptations if they didn't filler episodes. It's like, the have enough material to fill an entire season but still decided to add filler for not good reason. Has anyone ever asked the director why he did that?

>Has anyone ever asked the director why he did that?
He was being an asshole, he did it becuase he felt like it.

I can see that being a reason but there must be something that led him to that decision.

This director thinks the series is a comedy and since the series was more serious he expected he decided to remove almost every plot point regarding phantom and add a filler episode focusing on the AST. He thought this was a good idea since the season sold well but then S2 and 3 happened and it turned out he just got lucky early volumes were simply light hearted and fit with his stupid vision of what the series was.

Do you know him to claim this, user?

Attached: gb.jpg (1920x1080, 251K)

Just watch all the filler episodes in each season, even animeonlys thought the last episode of S3 was filler which they are not wrong since it was filler in the novels.

You should see what he did to Digimon. When he has a vision he doesn't change it. It still doesn't take a genius to know a filler episode in a 12 or hell a 10 episodes season is a terrible idea.

Well, as terrible as that last episode was at least they butchered one of the worst volumes in the series.

Hard to butcher something that is bad. They only removed some the shittiest part like the whole thing with Shiori.

S3 had more filler than usual. The last episode was wasted in volume 12 but the first half of the first episode also had filler. The replaced the interview scene with Miku where she showed her lovable for that stupid scene with the spirits wanting to eat. Right from the start the tone of the series was wrong.

Why did they delay the game? The series is losing popularity and the best time to release it was after season 3 ended.

Who knows, maybe Compile Heart had too much on their hands. Also, they noticed this which is why Kadokawa allowed to let chink companies to make the gacha game and it's making money outside Japan.

I'll read the thread later but season one was great but left unanswered ..Shido took girlfriend to the fair and Kurune was running out of time but she hadnt been sealed..imagine my chagrin when i began season 2 which is just a recap on all the spirits and mostly Diva and Kaguya n usu ???#!&* twins..a total waste since that was all covered in season one and i still havent got to the part where they capture all Kurumes clones and seal her powers

Then why not just cancel the game and give full support to the other game? We already got a few CGs of the game in first month of this year so the game should be completed by now and it doesn't have gameplay either; the development time should be really short.

The series isnt comedy though it is witty...Tohka ....the twins..the Captains in the Ast all had some oneliners that werent hilarious just a play on words...the little girl with the hand puppet and blue hair was lame they could of researched more on her ..did they ever go in on her i lost interest????Diva was a big lesbian and Shido had to grow his hair and shrink his trow to be in with a chance although she did less damage with the glass shattering range as Origami Tobichi and the others.....so of the change of directors ruined the story ill pick it up from the manga

They're supporting it, but they're letting them do their own thing. I remember chinks asked them if they could extend the game and a Taiwanese server and Kadokawa accepted. For chinks to do anything, they must first get approval by Kadokawa. I have the game myself and while it's not perfect, it sure has a lot of content going for it. It's possible to get all the Spirits from gacha without paying but you have to work your ass off and be lucky. The 2D battle animations look smooth and cool and the gameplay is also really enjoyable. It has so many different features and so many different game modes you never really get tired. You can even play co-op, add friends, invite them to lobbies etc. It's got a lot of shit. Not to mention they have their own adaptation of the novels and even Mayuri Judgment, events every month. Who knows, maybe they'll release a nip version one day.

The fuck are you trying to say?

Quote describe Kurumi beginning with the letter S.....
Shoots at helpless kitten...
Spots kurumi on foot alone..
Sssssss show us ya tits..
Sure boys hello leads them into alley where she unleashes her monster killa....
Ties one guy to a tree and shoots him for hurting helpless puppy

Then just cancel the current VN and focus on the one that is getting more attention. They already lost their chance of releasing the game.

Like someone mentioned in an older thread. They probably wanted to see how well the translated games sell in the west to release both a Japanese version and a translated one in the west at the same time.

Ion know......i read upto where Kurumi explains why she steals time from others hence the green eyes....
How Shido suppose to make spirits fall in love but the plot twist is them fighting each other like the Twins Urusu and Kaguya nearly obliterated each other and their sisters also Toobichi went rogue and ignore a no kill order on a spirit because of a boy.. which causes more earthquakes its a peaceable harem situation we want

...

>Then just cancel the current VN
Why? I think the new release date is set in january 2020. Also the wetern release was a success, it has a lot of positive reviews 90%.

Because the series will be over by then and whatever publicity S3 gave to the series will be irrelevant for that release date. At that point only fans who still remember the series will buy it. DAL isn't a series that created a legacy over the years.

What's with the guy speaking gibberish?

He is probably using Google translate.

Well, that's becuase the comitee that is in charge of this series just simply don't give a shit. The possibilities were there, but they didn't care. Pretty sure they must be kinda regretting it now becuase the LN is close to ending and I can tell they're trying to delay that seeing how volume 21 isn's listed yet. Serves them right.

Is this the only adaptation that got Shido's character right? This Shido reminds me of post volume 18 Shido.
youtube.com/watch?v=hvbBuwrIWTU

I take it all the characters were drawn in Danmachi's artstyle. It doesn't like the anime or Tsunako designs.

I doubt they even care. They had their chance to fix the damage that S2 did but only followed IMS steps in the end. Kadokawa lost a bigger cashcow with KF so DAL must be nothing for them.

It's hard to understand what you are trying to say.

Remember: the more BDs you buy, the likelier it is S4 gets made!

Of course they don't care. Kadokawa has lost all credebility in the past few years and ironically enough, it started with DAL II when they were greedy enough to think IMS was good enough to do the job. Many adaptations have been butchered thanks to them. It is now that I'm starting to see some effort even though it's minimal. Still they don't see DAL as anything more than a quick crashgrab at this point, otherwise they'd have dalayed S3.

Are you japanese?

Not buying shit, thanks.

That is why I dont think they have any regrets and it's not like author cares seeing the state of the novel.

Tachibana has expressed his desire to end the novel. But reaching a climax doesn't mean one stops caring.

After that "twist" in volume 19 and the content of the last one I'd say he stopped caring and is just doing what he considers to be fun.

>new season
>with the series being finished months before that happens
This series is not even that popular.

He has been behaving like this since the second game was released.

At least Tachibana didn't go full Tohka in this collab and let Shido have the spotlight.
>since the second game
Now we're going by the games?

I dont remember the release date of the volumes it was around the second game's release Tachibana started to write Shidou as a character.

I thought the collab was supposed to focus more on Danmachi than DAL. That is why it feels so different from what Tachibana would do.

The chink game is having a a neptunia collaboration next month. Does that mean Compile Hearts is also seeing the money?

There were a lot of DAL elements in this collab though. They even bothered to include info on the Sephira Crystals, Westcott and foreshadowing of Mio even it iwas very vague.

Only if they are involved or hold the rights to the series.

That is the point of a collab but if felt more like a what if story for Danmachi than DAL.

Of course it was more about Danmachi, they were having a DAL collab, not the other way around.

Games have collabs constantly. After S3 aired, there were 3 games that had a collab with DAL but none of those had the rights of the series.

Exactly, which is why we didn't get the usual Tachibana writing.

Tachibana did write for this collab though. Did you play this?

That is not what I meant. I'm talking about his usual style of writing since this was a collab he just couldn't simply do whatever he wanted with the story or the characters he didn't create. He had limitations he doesn't have with the LNs.

But even he has good redeeming qualities when he puts effort.

@its hard trying to understand what your tryna say..
Suck a bull penis

Yeah, but it's kinda sad someone has to put limitations to what he writes otherwise you get something like volume 12 or the last two volumes.

?

It's weird to see DAL characters in this style.

Why does Tachibana hate Yoshino so much? Her little screentime is already bad but pairing her with such an ugly girl like Natsumi is just mean.

He introduced her as the token loli even though Kotori and Mana should be considered lolis as well.

I think Yoshino was meant to be the only loli character in the series.

Natsumi isn't ugly, she is just supposed to look like a girl who is sick.

Season 4 when??

Attached: Date A Live 153.png (1440x720, 1.25M)

But what about the money? Whoever has the rights should still get some money even if they gave permission to a third party to develop or help in a game.

When they replace the fucking director who only knows how to butcher the series and the chief animation director who doesn't know how to fucking draw.

Tohka and Yoshino are melting.

After they reboot the series.

Did you look at this before saving it? It looks terrible and another season should look just as bad if not worse than previous seasons.

I guess for games to have collabs, the developers need to pay to get the rights to use other characters from another franchise. That's where I assume they're getting that money and the earnings could be debatable, but I figured they would be around 80/20 for Danmachi and DAL respectively.

I was talking more about the chink game. You said there will be a Neptunia collab but does that mean only using the characters but not necessarily the designs since Tsunako is an independent artists right now and I assume the designs are her property.

I wonder why nios voice their displeasure online about the staff but won't say anything in the festivals where they announce news on the anime. If I was a nip, I'd be waiting for the DAL stage and I wouldn't be embarrased to say out loud the director is incompetent and should be replaced, otherwise they're not getting my money.

I have no idea, it was announced today. More news will be posted in the following days.

>If I was a nip
If you were a nip they would dishonor you for not accepting the shit they gave you. That is what social media is for, you don't do that shit in person.

I don't think Tsunako owns the Neptunia franchise, just the designs. They can still hire someone else to draw the character in a different style.

Why not? Sometimes it takes more than a few mean comments online yo getthe message across. I'm just fed up that we have literally retards running the DAL anime committe and a good for nothing staff with an incompetent director and a chief animation director that doesn't even know basic anatomy. Fuck them.

All the CGs of the chink game are drawn by chinks. They don't have Tsunako drawing for them. This one for instance

Because not many people have enough courage to do that in person, if you are brave enough then good for you but most nips would rather use a safe place to voice their opinions, just like most people around the world really.

And they still look really good.

Attached: 67784084.jpg (1465x720, 120K)

That is what should happen with the Neptunia collab then.

It's not about being brave but being honest. Pretty sure you are as upset with the anime as I am. Wouldn't you say anything if you were in front of them despite your feelings?

There's one artist in their team that is pretty adept with Tsunako's artstyle.

Maybe if there were enough support. The only thing you would accomplish by going there and complain is look like an angry guy and they would ignore you.

Aren't we all angry about the anime though?

But most of time complains do nothing, they only hear the fans when sales start dropping and the series is highly profitable for them. DAL is not that big and it sells well enough so they won't change anything.

Date A Live more like Date A SLUT am I right?

Attached: 1549552356381.jpg (3507x2479, 3.38M)

I'm sure a lot of Digimon fans also think the fans but I doubt this guy is going to be fired any soon.

Miku is worst girl.

They exaggerated a bit the evil expressions, it looks cartoonish, also Shidou's VA performance is much better than what he did in the anime.

Probably becuase he gets to play a muvh more enjoyable part of his character since S3 doesn't have a lot of cool Shido doing cool things. I also remember reading an interview where he mentions that after the long gap between S2 and S3, he kinda forgot how to voice Shido as well and was forced to readapt again as quickly as possible.

I still would have liked a different VA for him. His voice sounds too high pitched at times in the anime but he was just terrible in S3 with so many voice cracks whenever he was screaming.

They can change staff 3 times but not change a single guy?

Season 1 did very good and S2 managed to sell good enough to be considered a success especially with the low production values. In Kadokawa's eyes the Director must be a godsend.

If only the novel followed this path for the final arc instead of what we got.

Aren’t you?

Reminds me of Yu gi oh evil faces.

Why would a nip post here? Just look at this guy.
If he doesn't know English then it would be obvious he is using google translate.

Call it perspective or whatever but Natsumi looks a lot smaller than Yoshino

Eh.

>godsend
Everyone having a sour taste aftet S2 and S3 sure speaks volumes about this guy.

Yeah but the sales tell a different story and that is what Kadokawa cares about. S3 managed to sell like 2-2.5k with godawful production values. That is another win for the director and Kadokawa, not to mention all the merchandise is selling.

Maybe Tachibana can do something nice for the last volume.

With the first volume of the arc being filler he already lost the chance to set up anything good. Whatever happens next volume is going to be improvised.

Kill Shidou and free him from this mess.

But they'rr being retarded. Yes, S3 may have been a success but it could have been an even bigger hit had they put effort into it. They just need a guy who doesn't skip plot relevant points and adds stupid filler and the season is automatically 10 times better. You're basically telling me they're retarded.

Tachibana won't let him rest any time soon.

It's too late now and Kadokawa has made worse decisions before. For them a harem series like DAL must be not important at all. They are retarded, the way they handled the KF fiasco is probably the most recent example.

I can see that happening, not because it would fit for his character or wants to give him a great send-off, but to finally give Tohka alone the role of main character.

Why does Tachibana always make Shidou take all the shit?

I think he simply likes Tohka that much, remember Shidou wasn't even supposed to have a character beyond just being a mean for the audience to self-insert.

What is the game even about? Is it a VN like the official games? I doubt Tachibana is involved in those.

Tachibana knows it exists but he's not involved. Guess you could consider it the FGO of DAL.

I didn't know FGO was a fan game or something. So I guess that means is a mobile game, a shame.

If there is something season 3 did right is butchering volume 12 and confirming there won't be another season.

I still wanted one last OVA but I guess they would have adapted one of the newer stories so maybe that is for the best.

It's a free-to-play RPG mobile game yes. But what's so bad about it?

It's a mobile game and a chinese one at that. There must be a lot of clones that play the same way and since Tachibana is not involved, is there even a story?

They follow the LN, that's the story basically, the game has many different game modes too.

Is it only available on China?

Damn, Shidou sounds a lot better then he did in the anime. I guess the VA wasn't very motivated to work on yet another shitty looking season.

He was probably excited to play one of the best parts of Shido's character since the anime is shit at portrying that. He did say he's a bit of a chuunibyou so I guess he was eager to shoot these lines.

Depending on where you like you might need to use a VPN to play it.

If it is an always online game then is not worth the effort.

The anime does a terrible job at portraying the characters emotions. I can't believe you can feel more emotions and passiong coming from a VN themed game. If only the official games were like that too.

They are going to need a lot more time and funds to develop a game with gameplay and most otaku just want to date their waifus.

What's with asia and all the region locked games.

It clearly wasn't enough if they changed everything except the guy.

You could play it pretty easily at first, but then they made it more difficult for overseas people to play it. I need to use a VPN to play it, but I went through the effort of doing this becuase I like to kill off time playing the game, it's actually fun.

Looks very nice, how much of the novel does it cover?

If only DAL was popular to get this kind of attention in Japan and not just China.

Personally for me I didn't care about the actual anime either but Kurumi was in it so I watched it

That doesn't really mean you paid for it, only idiots with no standards would buy something so badly produced.

This is Danmachi Memoria Freese though, a japenese game.

I know, I was talking about DAL getting something like this in Japan. The VNs are nice but only the first one is canon and has satisfying endings

Got any gameplay video?

I feel sorry for you.

youtube.com/watch?v=joqpHpVSVZA

t. Kadokawa

Looks like p2w or one of those games where you need to grind a lot.

It's f2p but ou can also pay to get things and stuff. Basically like FGO. I've managed to get to level 48 without having to pay a single dime. It's one of those that require you to put som effort.

But how grindy is it?

First minutes of the video looks like opening lootboxes for materials. That isn't good.

Maybe they could release a nip Spirit Pledge. Who knows, they could start talking about he game at the Fantasia Bunko Festival.

He's just trying to get Spirit Origami in the gacha since that's the Spirit he wanted to get to make the video. I don't know why he decided to include this part though.

Okay but how long does it take to get the spirit you want without spending money?

Can't be worse than Warframe or Runescape.

I believe is a little too late to start such a project when the series is ending soon. China made a smart decision whereas Japan decided to re-release older games all these years.

You can get every character without paying money but it's always through the gacha. In order to roll, you need a "heart" which you get doing missions or by earning diamonds doing those missions. To get a heart you need 180 diamonds and then you cn roll 1 time and after that it depends on how lucky you are. You are given the possibility to bet 1 heart or 10 in the gacha, you can actually see the guy in the video betting 10. Most characters are unlockable at any time except 3. Those are Inverse Tohka, Devil and Mayuri since those are the best characters, rank SS and OP. These characters come and go periodically, so say, if you have 2 weeks to get Mayuri and you don't get her in those 2 weeks, you need to wait a few months before you get another chance.

Attached: mayuri.jpg (675x1200, 210K)

Okay, sounds exactly like other several other games I've played. I guess there is not PvP or something like that, right?

Sounds like the usual model most mobile game use. MSA uses the same exact method to unlock characters.

There kind of is. You basically can play co-op with other people but you don't fight each other, instead you team up to take down whatever your target is. However, at the end of the match you are shown the total score of the team and who's the one who's killed more enemies, so in a way it's a PvP while not being one.

So a Co-op PvE mode. Might try the game later but having to use a VPN just to play sounds annoying.

It's basically a free-to-play mobile game so they're obviously using the same structure as other games.

>nip Spirit Pledge
Pretty sure Japan also region locks a lot of their games.

Well, it shouldn't have that many characters to unlock or are there a lot?

All the different versions of Tohka, all the different versions of Origami, Yoshino, Kotori, Kurumi, Kaguya, Yuzuru, Miku, Natsumi, Mayuri, DEM Mana, Ratatoskr Mana and Ellen. Apparently if DAL gets more seasons, the game gets automtically more characters. They could also ask for the characters of the VNs if they wanted.

Wonder how long the support for this game will last once the series is over.

So the game only features anime characters? I don't expect it to survive after the novels end.

As long as it makes money it should remain alive.

So no Mukuro? That sucks.

I suppose these guys were happy when S3 aired, regardless of the quality. With so few characters I'm surprised it is still alive.

The pink filter and that height makes her look like Rio.

Miku is worst girl.

So I guess only the girls appear in the game even though there is a story mode.

From what I read, they're supposed to have the right to use all the characters from the LN. But Nia, Mukuro, Artemesia and Mio don't have VAs.

Why do you think the developers want S4?

Attached: wc.jpg (1200x450, 97K)

So he can keep the game alive and make more money; fuck him I don't want another shitty season

That is what happens when you use voiced dialogue instead of just grunts or battle sounds for a mobile game.

Exactly, the game has voiced characters so they can't include Nia and Mukuro next even though they have the rights to those characters.

I can see why they would want more seasons, if that is the case then I'd rather not play the game.

Date a Live? More like Date a Tohka ammiright?

Attached: 1561015468012.gif (640x360, 2.2M)

Retard

Retard.

It's a nice game and the gameplay is quite dinamic so it's a shame. I wouldn't mind them making more seasons if they got rid of that stupid director though. What they could do is include Rinne next if they want more characters.

Attached: smug natsumi.png (870x490, 406K)

that's not origami

But Rinne didn't do any fighting in the anime and they can't use the noise form either.

Origami was only a retard when she was all about "muh revenge" and Kurumi replaced her anyway.

Nice try tohka but you are still the number one retard.

number one in your hearts*
sorry guys, made a typo

But Nasu did involved. He's currently director of FGO story and even wrote some of chapters like Camelot and Babylonia

It's DAL, all characters introduced, be it in a N or a spin-off ar epart of the series. If Kadokawa is getting some money off this game they might proceed and push this game in one way or another.

Attached: 1564091843300.jpg (470x430, 43K)

nasu is quality control and "OK"d Septum, Orleans, london, etc
He's complicit in that failure

shut up kurumi

Who knows, Tachibana doesn't seem to be involved in this game at the moment since the game was developed by a chinese developer. If Kadokawa wants to do something with this game, they might arrange something and ask Tachibana to write something for it as well as have a japanese release. But that's not very likely.

Early chapter is so shitty because of they thought that players don't want the story. They changed their mind after they hear players just want more story.

Why is Mukuro so close yet so far, user?

Attached: kcm.jpg (960x576, 138K)

They could have done that way before and not now with the series over, also how are they going to add a character like Rinne/Phantom when animeonlys don't even know what powers she has. They would have to invent a moveset or use Mio but she is LN so far.

More like no chance of happening. It's amazing how Kadokawa is unable to see when they have money maker until is too late.

More like Date A Bully, retard.

Attached: Tohko_bullying.png (392x292, 115K)

But it doesn't mean anything if the LN ends, so long the author agrees to write for the game. This is within the realm of possibility user, but it can only happen if Kadokawa is interested in pushing this game. If they weren't interested, they wouldn't have allowed the creation of this game in the first place.

It's better that way. You can expect a good season with that shitty director around.

But without a novel they can't keep people interested in the series for so long. Sure the diehard fans will be the last ones to die but nothing last forever, especially when there are so many new series that can appear and just replace DAL in their eyes.

Kadokawa is a shit company. DAL had the potential to be something but they simply ignored its existence. It feels like they did notice though but way too late, seeing how S3 sold decently despite the absolute disaster that it was, all the merchandise they're having is only proof, plus the western release of the VNs, and the chink game making some money too. They're officially retards.

Did the western release of the VNs sell at all?

they released it in the west? I just pirated all the volumes

S3 had poor production values but those numbers are still not very good, the only reason we are getting more merchandise is because the series is ending and they want to milk it as much as possible. The LN is not that popular in the west same can be said about the games. This is just a last attempt to cash in the popularity of the series before it ends.

It's a port of a console VN. I wouldn't expect high numbers but I'm sure Kadokawa and Compile Heart knew that.

Yeah last month they released the dual pack on PS4/Steam.

I don't know but there are about 500 reviews on steam alone and 90% of them are positive. Regardless, the chink game is the one making the most money right now and merchandise and they also got some money from those overpriced BDs that cost 30,000 yen.

I just checked it out, the reviews on steam are good but the sales numbers aren't too good
Why do bad things happen to good people like us?

A translated port but it sure took them half decade to release it.

Sales are not even relevant, DAL isn't popular at all in the west. They probably just released a translated version because they have already re-released the games so many times.

How do we save this franchise?

The games are safe, they are simply being made to pander to animeonlys. The next game will be the final one though.

We're just talking about possibilities here, the VNs made by Compile Hearts appeals to very few people in the west so it's no suprise it wasn't anything big, not to mention DAL isn't popular here. I think Compile Heart has been on a decline in Japann too, their games no longer sell what they used too. I remember coming across some nip commenting about the success of the chink game and kind of making fun of Compile Heart for being outsold by a chink mobile game.

Makes you wonder why they decided to change the guy tasked with drawing promotional art for merchandise with his pretty retarded anatomy for another guy with decent looking anatomy this late too.

can't**

They got a new staff except for the director, stuff like promotional is not as important as, let's say animating the episodes so a guy like that can be replaced.

The games sales are not important and it doesn't affect the series, think of them as a plus.

Still, we've been stuck with retarded looking characters since S2 up to the past few months. It seemed like we would be stuck with the same retard forever. I wonder why they simply didn't task this guy with the key visual instead of good for nothing Watanabe who doesn't know how to draw for shit.

Because that the anime would still look the same. It would be like S2 key visual and PVs, misleading the viewers into thinking the seasons looks better than it actually does. S3 key visual is terrible but it at least captures well the essence of this season and how incompetent the staff was.

I think for Kadokawa DAL was a series they could put minimum attention and still make some money out of it. S2 helped to prove that point.

MSA is much worse, at this point there must be over 1000 characters. SNK really outdid themselves. I don't think the DAL game will survive long enough without new characters.

>I don't think the DAL game will survive long enough without new characters.
If they want to push this game, I can see them including all the characters of the LN, VNs and even from DAB if neccesary. Not gonna happen though.

I don't think China cares that much about the spin-off to use the characters to keep the game alive. The best they can do is include novel characters but the voice thing is preventing that.

I think they have all the volumes of DAB available in chinese. user, chinks like this franchise more than anyone else. Thing is, DAB is the story that has a lot of characters, in the first volume alone, there were like 20 characters introduced to us and the next volumes introduce even more characters. Like it or not, quasi spirits are a lot compared to normal spirits. I can also see them adding every inverse to the list too.

That is not saying much, a lot of manga and LN are translated to Chinese but you don't see a lot of them talking about the spin-off since is so different with character that have nothing to do with the nove and most important of all China still likes the first 4 spirits the most. A bunch of disposable characters are irrelevant to them.

So does that mean Neptunia is also dying, also mobile games tend to make more money than console and PC games nowadays.

Wow, everything about this sucks. It's impossible to tell they changed of studios.

Forgot pic.

That is the DAL anime for you.

It's been a while but it's time to post this again!

What are these again? Emotes?

Where is Rinne?

I think so, what else would they be?

I thought it was just cute fanart but I heard someone mentioning these were emotes in older threads, emotes for what exactly? Does China have a DAL themed chat or something?

I don't remember the season looking that bad. That Yoshino looks derpy as hell and both of them have gigantic moeblob eyes.

I think those were drawn by the chink game artists and even Japan has their own too. They had Tsunako draw all the Spirits.

That is neat but where are you supposed to use these, only in the game's chat?

I have no idea, you need to buy them first. They're cheap, you can buy them and try.

Wouldn't she be covered under Date A God?

Shitty Slut

>buy them
That is some jew shit.

>buying a few emotes
Seriously?

Rinne from Rinne Utopia. Mayuri is also part of Mio since she was created from the girls powers so she shouldn't be there too.

Found it, these can only be used in "line" a japanese chatting app. Kadokawa.

I expected something like that, the pics are still cute by paying for them is ridiculous.

I wonder if you can import these somehow.

These were made by Tsunako? No wonder they are superior to the Chinese ones.

It's like you already forgot how shitty episode 5 looked.

I want those Yoshinos

Attached: 1446350094083.png (315x252, 88K)

Caveman Tohko was funny but I still prefer Miku's face in S2.

It's hard to beat the classics and most of S2 QUALITY was hilarious compared to S3 QUALITY which was just terrible.

I wish I had friends to send these to

Even the trio got one? I'm surprised the AST commander didn't get one.

You wil have to pay for them first.

Would you really send something like this to another person?

I wish I had friends that I could send stuff like that to, but first I'd require the prerequisite of friends in general
I'd pay like a dollar or steal it

I don't know, I wouldn't send something this cute to my normalfag friends even if some of them liked the first season of the series.

I want to slap Tohka.

What ever happened to this?

Delayed.

Delayed to 2020

It was delayed.

Didn't they announce it last year? I don't remember any of the previous games taking so long to release after the seasons ended.

Who knows what they are thinking right now. They are waiting too long and whatever hype there was is probably dead by now.

I'm expecting a cancelation at this point.

Wonder what will be the excuse this time to make a Natsumi and Miku routes possible.

It's probably another non-canon game so the girl can be "out of character" again.

I wouldn't expect proper endings for this new game, I think it will go the second game route with the girls having normal dates then it just end.

Date A Headpat

Attached: tohka.gif (1280x720, 1.91M)

Here is the twist, there are not routes for the girls this time. It's only a long route focusing on the game girls with different outcomes.

You are supposed to slap her.

Retard.

The new game girl**

>game delayed
>volume delayed
They are desperate to milk this shit now of all times?

They didn't do it before so they are trying to compensate for all those 5 years of doing nothing.

I didn't know they delayed the next volume? What is the excuse now? There is not movie, the game should be over by now, they also released an Encore not so long ago so there is literally zero reasons to delay the game.

and the novel.

It's nice to see Tsunako didn't forget about Mana like Tachibana did.

I don't know if I want to see the end of the series to be honest not because I would feel sad but due to how bad the last volume was.

Finally found a place to grab the light novels but as I said in a past Date A Live thread, I'll tackle the animated versions first because of how much was changed from the light novels.

Also, there's Rinne Utopia and if I manage to purchase it somehow, I'd rather do it after I've progressed enough through both the light novels and the anime. While you need to read the first four volumes of the former, how much of the latter do I need to go through?

Whether the ending is good or bad, the series needs to end and Tachibana needs to take lessons about how to be a professional writer.

We have a Mega link for the translations up to volume 18 or 19. You could have just asked. The first game happens after volume 4 but before volume 5.

S1 covers the first 4 volumes however it's recommended to read the novels for all the skipped plot points the anime skipped then you can play the game.

First 4 volumes = Season 1.

Without Tsunako designs there is a high chance his next work can fail.

>we have a mega link
You've piqued my curiosity.

Is this your first thread? I'm surprised you don't know about it.

You can also find the novels on Nyaa, I think.

It's better to not rely on Yea Forums for anything, just download them off nyaa.si

mega.nz/#F!CHg0TKZB!mlUP4srQwFZbJOCFoSUo9w
Here is the link but it lacks the last two volumes since it hasn't been updated for a while. You can also find a few other translations.

Where do you think people got their translations from after they realized BT was too slow and especially after the novels were removed a few months later due to DMCA?

It's a shame summary user just disappeared like that.

Only the first game is canon so you can play the other games in whatever order you want.

You know what is worse? The translator that complained about summary user making very detailed summaries much faster than he could translate the novel is now the main editor of the Wiki and he is not even that big of a fan of the series.

>wiki
That is where you fucked up. You don't go that place if you want to learn about the series.

This link really needs an update.

This was a good thread.

Miku is worst girl.

It will be hard to find a series with threads like these once DAL ends.

He posts on AS. You should avoid a place that lately has only been discussing whatever new figs are released.

I wouldn't recommend to watch S2 or 3 but if you do then check the movie, it isn't canon but is more anime.

Hope you enjoy yet another collection of irrelevant side stories.

These threads are relaxing.
