Just finished the 2018 Devilman, I'm late I know finally got some time of work so decided to check it out. Really liked it animation, story everything. But just curious did anyone else get kinda a gay vibe between Akira and Ryo? I never checked out the original or manga so not sure if this is just the new show being wierd or?
Maybe I'm just fucked in the head, but idk just seemed kinda gay sometimes. Well besides the literal gay sex scene.

What's wrong with the others?
They're needless and stupid expansions that don't really benefit from the Devilman connection at all, the art isn't as compelling, and even on their own terms they just aren't good. Devilman Lady is actually a lot better and a lot more normal than the first volume makes it seem, but even in that case the Devilman connection isn't a beneficial one.
The original manga has a resolute ending and is by far the best Devilman anything. Read that -- preferrably without the clumsy Shin Devilman stuff -- and you're set.
