How to counter the shipperfags? You shouldn't fight the shipperfag directly. He is invincible. He is talking about the manga therefore he can say whatever absurd ship he thought up this time. You shouldn't attack the ship either. Most of the time the ship is absurd, but even if you manage to prove that with canon support, the shipperfag will not stop. EVER. So, what is wrong with shipping? The shipperfag is overwriting the canon material with his headcanon. It's irrelevant so the best thing to do is ignoring it before it becomes popular and the author will start to acknowledging it, but if you could do that you wouldn't be reading this. The shipperfags will monopolize and use every interaction between the characters as support for their truth. That intention is what needs to be countered. You need to create an alternative interpretation for these events. You need to take back the scenes they are in with this new interpretation and completely discredit the shippingfag's delusional ship. The key is to not fight against the shippingfags interpretation, but to create and fight for a better interpretation! One that's preferably closer to the source material, but since their ships are usually pretty far fetched that shouldn't be too difficult.
TL;DR
Instead, of complaining that their "theory" sucks, make a better one instead. Take the YoshiMako ship for example. Provide a theoretical alternative reason for their sudden closeness, like these Not good enough? Create a better one! Make a good enough theory, and it's bound to become more popular than a lousy, far fetched ship.
