did you ever participate in a anime club?
Did you ever participate in a anime club?
never had any in my school
most anime in my country is still at too-obscure tier, and even the normie ones aren't really popular, no merch anywhere in sight.
hell no
I went to one meeting, realised everyone was unbearably autistic and vile and never returned.
>having clubs in your school
im not that cool
It was a manga club and i got dragged into it by my gf at the time
now I can't escape Yea Forums
yes. went to otakon and fucked club leader at hotel while she was in haruhi cosplay
I wish I had just been true to my autistic self instead of pretending I was too cool and avoiding the weebs.
normie tier club
i couldn't stay a minute there they can't even tell the difference between shounen and seinen
animes that are discussed there: one piece naruto fairy tail bleach and all the normie season ones
and manga ....
>what is manga user?
of course not
i went to anime club sometimes.
mostly because of a girl i liked.
In high school, one of my acquaintances ran anime club. We only ever really talked during lunch, but she asked me if I wanted to join her club numerous times. I finally accepted just to be nice. It was pleasant. We would watch old anime and our history teacher (who supervised) would bring us free sushi and other Japanese dishes.
and what then? don't stop there user!
I did. They showed the 2005 Negima anime (which I later found out ends right when the fucking series plot actually kicks in), some fujo girls showed the overseeing teacher some yaoi manga they brought in and talked about it for a bit, there were a ton of super fucking autistic people (didn't even know the word yet), and I then went next door and never looked back since there was a gaming club.
Played some video games, hung out with less fucking retarded people, and played Yu-Gi-Oh with a shitty deck that some kid gave me in like 6th grade or some shit before he moved away.
I won like four duels ever with that deck. It blew, and I was too cheap to actually get into the game proper, but I had fun.
Anime clubs attract some terrible fucking people.
This. Plus my DVD collection then was massive so they just started asking me to bring everything when they found out. After a few meetings I said fuck it. 2 of the 3 times they were watching anime with the dub on anyway. Fucking useless college shits too lazy to read.
my high school had one, and it was from my english teacher. dude was pretty chill and he liked /m/ core stuff like mazinger. Too bad the club was always a mix of people showing in and out and most shows being recommended were shonenshit
>not avoiding any anime club like the plague
The fuck is your problem?
I went to an anime club in college. There were some normal people and I had fun watching anime with them and seeing their reactions. It made me enjoy it more than watching the same shows alone.
However, the core of the anime club was a group of unbearable, obnoxious freaks with poor hygiene and disturbing behavior. I actually saw a picture of them posted here and immediately recognized them in all their sperg glory. They ultimately ruined the club for everyone. Unfortunately the tabletop gaming club was the same.
Yeah, in uni. Surprisingly not as much faggotery.
Singing anime op in karaoke, meet up, and going to con was actually fun, got into proper cosplay too. Still in touch with like 4 guys from back then.
I watched good shows and got free food, so I had no problem with it.
I was chickenshit til 20 years old, so I never admitted to girls I liked them, and was autistic as shit to properly socialize with girls. The closest I ever got with her was almost an indirect kiss from sharing a soda that I had bought and tasted weird, and she wanted to try, so i gave her the can but she stopped short and didn't take a sip.
