Honestly this is why I bring up Fate route, because it is somewhat implied that Illya stays by his side after the events to see that he doesn't become Archer. For however long that is we don't know, but as Nasu says in a recent interview regarding other timelines "believe in dreams".

It's kind of aggravating that the fandom ignores this potential narrative for the grimmer future that she just dies while he's still in Fuyuki, even.
