That's a load of bull. It's entirely possible to treat the main cast with respect and allow them to resolve their own subplots, but VRAINS just doesn't do that. The characters's goals are just tacked on to Yusaku's, and then they have to fail and die so Yusaku can fix everything.

Revolver ordered it, and she defeated the person who made the virus. Why even bother when Revolver isn't an enemy anymore. You just get bad matches like the current one instead of Revolver vs Ai. And besides, fighting one of the minions of the guy who put your friend in a coma still counts towards trying to free her.

That's kind of grasping at straws. It would be like saying Aoi beating hordes of BitBoots off-screen is a personal victory too. Besides, we were told twice Haru would fail. It wasn't an amazing victory.

I unironically wanted this. It's great when it doesn't stop the plot entirely (like Arc-V did). It gives side characters more screen time and wins they would never get otherwise. Also if it is a friendly tournament, there is always a good chance of the MC losing.

Haru deserved better. He didn't cheat like Windy and was a good duelist, but lost to shilling and shit writing.

It was definitely the early ending rumors. If it weren't for those, it wouldn't feel like the show was limping at all, people would be hype by the Soulburner vs Revolver duel.

Well, Ai is an Ignis. He's also probably the Ignis that is the closest to human, so he's probably a good template for a new generation of Ignis.

With that being said, Ai and Yusaku have already discussed the eventuality of new Ignis. I feel like that's really what his goal is. He wants to make a new batch of Ignis and provide them with a place to live that humans will never be able to reach.

Both were great but some of the jobbers in I were insufferable like the tomato dude and the soccer episode. Zexal II is flawless, still. Even the jobbers like the Comic guy or the Flower girl had lots of SOUL and their episodes were really charming.

It's a show about dueling and having a random duelist of the week that has a decent personality and uses a new deck provides some nice levity and a solid distraction from the plot. They also flesh out the world more outside of "random villain group of the season"

DMs were executed better and it has the excuse of being hte first series. Arc-V had only one particularly bad duelist of the week episode that I remember that being quiz faggot.
