Most of the time though I just pirate it in order to try it out. Although sometimes I just buy a set and jump right in, thats how I got into Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, and Trigun.

Shipping is a pain in the ass in Europe, and it cost almost as much as what you are buying.

I'm currently looking for a Lucky Star DVD/Bluray set. Despite not being a very good anime it was still the first one I saw as a kid.

Lucky Star isn't that expensive the last time I looked at it on Amazon

no, my country sells you a 12 episode show in 3 BDs for 40€ each. Meanwhile Burgers get that for 30 Burgerbucks for 12 episodes.

I watched shokugeki no soma in german because netflix only had german subs, which is worse than anything because it's just english subs translated.
it was pretty good, but it's in no way worth the price they ask for BDs here.

A piece of advice, if you have old DVD boxsets keep them in good shape, When Geneon went under the price of the Samurai Champloo LE boxset went through the roof, I had someone offer me 5 thousands dollars for one of mine recently
