After the Miyabi rejection, i had a feeling that Natsuo would reject Hina at this point, since part of his reasoning is 'i almost wished i was wrong because of how much i might of hurt you without knowing.'
And Hina has been hurting alot because of him and Rui.

Shuu already conceded that He made a mistake in thinking Natsuo was a curse on Hina and that moving on would make her happy.
All he can really do is confess that he lied about Hina moving on from Natsuo as fast as he said, and that the last time she and Shuu talked, it was obvious she still hadn't moved on. But that was 7 or 8 months in story time so Shuu should have no idea how Hina really feels after all this time.

although, if he asked how Natsuo thinks of her now and he says not as a lover, then yea. problems.
Still, its obvious that the manga was going to throw several wrenches into the story to keep up suspense and questions, so Natsuo rejecting Hina at this point wouldn't surprise me. depending on how Natsuo is presented second guessing or something would suggest that he didn't reject Hina in a manner that convinces himself he cant love her again.

Because the series could have ended with the high school, Hina returning to wrap up, and a time jump. Instead we get college and weird rules for dating Rui and whatever that breakup was suppose to be. Also Miyabi is like the only shining light of anyone new introduced in the college era.

The only thing Shuu can do to F things up is to say he's going to pursue Hina again and is asking Natsuo for permission. But then i'm betting it will play off like Alex getting permission from Natsuo to date Rui in that Natsuo does not like the idea but feels like he has no right to stop it.

Unlikely since Shuu knows how Hina feels so he should know he has no right to get in the way. Or maybe he'll attempt to make Natsuo reject Hina so she can move on.

But i think that now the story is going to make it clear to Natsuo that Hina lied and still loves him. That Shuu lied, Hina lied and Rui knew about it and took advantage. It will probobly make Natsuo more aware of Hina but only the rings will make the message sink in.

Chef boy and Miyabi was to stow seeds of jealousy in Natsuo and Ruis relationship.

Rui didnt like Miyabi and saw her as someone attempting to take Natsuo away from her, just like she did with Hina.

I believe Kajiba was meant, and still is, Rui's fallback, as well as to show her double standards.
the double standards is shown in the way Rui kept talking about Kajiba made Natsuo jealous but she blew his concerns off several times and even refused to talk about it. But whenever it came to Miyabi, Rui couldn't have trust in that Natsuo would do the right thing and kept telling Natsuo to stay away from her.

The reason for Kajiba being Rui's fallback is obvious. They get along naturally, they work well together and even Rui knows she'd be happy with him but she still has feelings for Natsuo so cant take that step with Kajiba. Yet.

As for the breakup, it would really be pointless if Rui got back together with Natsuo, especially without Rui having learned anything to make herself a better girlfriend. We've seen her develop as a Chef but not as a partner in a relationship. We've seen no reason to believe she still wouldn't be jealous of Hina and other women, or controlling like before, or if she is able to support Natsuo when he suffers writers block.

Its why she isn't likely to win. The breakup has done nothing to make Rui or Natsuo better people. all it can serve in is making Rui and Natsuo move on from each other and make Rui not hate Natsuo for choosing Hina like last time.

For Rui, its slow but still possible for her to move on from Natsuo from what we've seen with her and Kajiba. For Hina, its not possible. despite her attempts, something always happens to make her unable to move on.

i saw that too, the last chapter got Kei so many hearts on twitter she made another tweet just to thank the audience for it. Usually she gets 1k-1.4k hearts for each chapter but the last one got 2k
