This will become bigger than Naruto

Just a matter of announcing the anime adaptation and elite animation studio

It'll be Pierrot

It's really garbage, in the first chapter alone there's already bullshit that fucks it up. What will happen is that it will get hyped as fuck like literally any seasonal shonen anime.

What's with this boring, stale art?

it started pretty weak and boring, the latest chapters have been a whole lot better.

it has the makings of a decent manga but nowhere near Naruto levels of popularity.

S8 is great. Ann is a true cutie with a kinda annoying personality, just hope she wont be as bad.

art is as confusing as latest promised land

axe gonna dropped soon

the story and setting confuse more than the art:

- samurai possesing cyborg bodies that are near indestructable and yet they still have to eat??

- planet buster level threats introduced in the first arc?

- villain group want to pull off and Thanos and restart the universe because reasons?

this is Kishi on drugs or without adult supervision.

Ann doesn't seem that cool or interesting.

>restart the universe because reasons?
well there's already some hints that some incident happened with Ata, but the rest probably just think the world is horrible.

That's because she's basically another Hinata.

Will this suffice?

>planet buster level threats introduced in the first arc?
Actually galaxy busters were introduced as well

Forced as fuck "romance"

Where is the axe when you need it. This Manga makes Black clover look readable.

she's like the fusion of Hinata and Sakura.

low tier bait.

>anime adaptation
Can you not? At least let the series have some material first. Naruto was 40% filler, Boruto is already 90% filler, let's not set a record here.

They're not wrong though

You are wrong.

why is the there barely any discussion/following for this series? is it because there's no fujobait stuff...yet?

>is it because there's no fujobait stuff
Nanashi

I give it 2 or 3 months before they announce the anime being greenlit
Pierrot is currently in the process of freeing up a large number of animators from projects. I believe they will put a majority of their resources into the Samurai 8 adaptation in hopes of it becoming their next Naruto

That is a faliure user. Tobirama clone was good.

It's true. Hinata had the potential to be interesting, but in the end wasn't utilized.

>Pierrot is currently in the process of freeing up a large number of animators from projects
Source? If so RIP BC

That's every character in Konoha 9. I will not forgive Kishi for sidelining them.

Kishi should've kept the Tobirama clone around instead of oneshotting him.

Beyond what others have already said, mone of the characters seem interesting at all. Granted I only read a few chapters before dropping it but I couldn't care less for the MC.

What can you do? he is a hack.

Some of still had more to do than Hinata.

>planet buster level threats introduced in the first arc?
aaaaaand dropped.

Woah there. This manga may not be that good but compared to black clover I prefer S8.

the beginning was so shit that everyone I know has already dropped it

>why is the there barely any discussion/following for this series?
there isn't much to discuss about it. the recent chapter just set up the plot and it's really not that interesting. the series would be getting axed if Kishi's name wasn't attached to it.

the worst part about it is that it was a clone and not his actual body.

;) wink wink wink

Only Shikamaru I'd say. Doesn't retract anything tho,he is still a hack that sidelined my favorites.

wrong thread buddy?

It needs to rank better than Yui Kamio first lmao

am I the only one grossed out by the cyborg bodies?

Attached: 07.png (930x1300, 246K)

Nah, Lee too. Did Hinata ever get a proper fight outside of the one against Neji? Lee got three.

Yes. That is tame as fuck.

Too many things for keep track of for a braindead shounen. If Naruto had been axed after the Zabuza arc, it would have been a nice short manga. If this gets axed when the arc ends, it will only be remembered as a clusterfuck.
Too much backstory for characters I don't even care about.

Atleast she had screentime in shippuden in important moments, Lee and my man Neji was treated like absolute trash.

It's wild that this would probably be better if Kishi was actually working on it and not writing outline scripts for the artist.

it's weird since the cast is pretty small for now,
the Samurai stuff is pretty convoluted and it all boils down to if you accept that you are defeated the god of war abandons you and you're dead for good.

Attached: 16.png (923x1300, 387K)

Shino never got a proper fight outside the chunin exams. Tenten had 1 fight in the whole manga, and that was against a clone of herself. Ino never had a proper fight. Kiba and neji never had anything after the Sound 4 fights. Only character that remained relevant was Shikamaru

Even Shikamaru was relevant only in the Kakuzu arc.

why didn't Kishi just write a Samurai 7 sequel instead of this clusterfuck?

No.

How?

Is this good? (I mean good for a shonen not actually good) because I heard it's bombing horribly

we don't have sales numbers but the ToC rankings aren't very good

That's too bad. I was hoping it would do well because I think Kishimoto can actually write compelling stories as long as he has a plan for how it's supposed to go. I kinda miss early Naruto and I had hoped this would recapture that feeling

I just think it needs a bit more time to pick up. Naruto didn't hit its stride til the Land of Waves arc.

>Kishimoto can actually write compelling stories as long as he has a plan for how it's supposed to go
I honestly think he just ripped off HxH. I read the entirety of Naruto before consuming anything from HxH, and you can tell Kishi got A LOT of his inspiration/ideas from that series. Early Naruto was great and prob peaked around the chunin exams, but everything after just had "good moments" the storytelling overall took a massive nosedive. S8 is an example of what we get when Kishi has to be original. It's a disappointment so far.

>I honestly think he just ripped off HxH
People always say this and I never know what the fuck their talking about. I've read both and I can't think of a single instance of Naruto ripping off HxH

>kurapika vs sasuke's revenge and Gary Stu red eyes
>hunter exam vs chunin exam parallels
Then Naruto had to create it's own story after the chunin exam and it immediately dropped in story quality

Ok Im retarded and I thought that the Sharingan came first for some reason so I get that now

her personality is a mix of Sakura with Hinata

HxH didn't invent magic eyes or tournament arcs though. Editor-san told Kishi to have a tournament arc anyway, he wanted more missions (which would have made more sense to establish that Naruto and Sasuke are actually comrades).

maybe Kishi needs an editor to set this manga in the right course.

This intrigues me, which parts of Sakura's personality is mixed with Hinata's?

the fact that samurai carry a real katana but rarely use it and instead fight with their "soul blade" instead triggers my autism for some reason.

Attached: 21.jpg (865x872, 483K)

>HxH didn't invent magic eyes or tournament arcs though
not saying they did, but Sasuke's backstory was a carbon copy of Kurapika's when he was introduced. "I want to avenge my super unique clan that has special eyes that turn red when we get emotional" and even if the editor told Kishi to have a tournament arc, it lacked any originality that differentiated it from the hunter exam arc.
>You are all individually assigned a number and need to get enough points to move on to the next part of the exam
vs
>Your team has a heaven scroll and needs to collect enough points from other teams to move on to the next part of the exam

there are other parallels that can be drawn, but Naruto just feels like it got a lot of it's ideas from HxH in the early stages, and again, this is coming form someone who read Naruto before reading HxH

Something I've noticed is that the number of real swords a character carries on them directly translates to how strong they arw

I mean, if you were given the choice between a lightsaber that can cut anything and a steel sword that can't, what would you choose?

They both have downs.

Then why even bother carrying a steel sword?

Good question. Since the soul blades here rely on your fighting spirit and emotions, perhaps a steel sword is more reliable for when you aren't in a fever pitch or enraged or determined or something.

Ann a best,
I hope they introduce more qt princesses

No. This clerly suffers from the kind of shit writing that plagued the final arcs of Naruto. Too bloated and nonsensical, yet it tries to bait readers with a resolution which is still far away.
Unlike Naruto though, it was too early to dump the backstory because so far I don't give a shit about what's his name. His dad's death felt manipulative and the whole deal with that other samurai felt like it blew its load way too early.

pretty boring in my opinion, but i guess when the current cast of this series is lackluster in general, she does stand out more than others.

His dad's death was underwhelming. Why would anyone care about the dad this early into the story? It was pretty pathetic writing honestly.

She's cute but she's not Hinata cute or Sakura cute. Kind of disappointing

>sakura cute

Sakura is cute when she's not being a horrible bitch

looks wise, yes. personality wise, no.

So when?

whenever she's not around Naruto, actually

Doujins and "The Last". The main takeaway here I suppose, is that Hinata is best girl

Attached: 1560566100014.jpg (696x700, 67K)

next chapter will be interesting with Daruma's summon stopping the moon from falling or maybe he'll pull a Roshy and nuke it all together.

Attached: 18-19s.png (1777x1300, 897K)

there is no "best girl" in Naruto because Kishi sucks ass at writing female characters

So,never I guess.

>the only time any character gets screen time is then they are talking to Naruto
Saying you're retarded would be redundant given you're a shipping fag

>shippingfag
as if

Plain appearance. An obvious Hinata clone but lacks her cuteness. Sakura might be a cunt but at least her design and color scheme was good.

Japs are not even talking about it

When fucking Golem Hearts has a better Father/"Son" relationship you know something's wrong.

Character design is pretty shit, who the fuck wants a four-eyes as a main character?
t. Four-eyed user

Four eyes can look good if you do it right.
t. functional eyes user

How are the sales?

Do you have any idea how many times it has been said and nothing came out of it?
What is Toriko, Beelzebub, and whatever else that they tried to push so hard as the "next big three"? They all disappeared quietly, just like this will.

No Volumes for sale yet, they're waiting to get Vol1 and 2 out at the same time.

That's odd. Vol 1 should be out already.
This makes me think the pre-order numbers must be in the toilet for them to pull this tactic. I imagine they will double ship on top of that as well.

They announced this before volume 1 was up for pre-order. I dont doubt that they're doing it because its shit though. The prolouge will encompass all of vol 1 and 2, so maybe they think it'll get good reception if people can read the prologue in one go. Only other series to do this is Toriko.

I think it was announced way back that they'd do it this way so i'm not sure pre-orders were factored at all. Probably did it this way since (apparently, i wouldn't really know as i've dropped it) Jump already knew the first chapters would be "slow", being Kishi has its perks.

So are they going though with the space adventure thing? If so I might actually pick this up.

Whether the manga is shit or not doesn't matter, this is a rare case of Shueisha begging a famous mangaka, Kishimoto, and paying him on top of that to come back and write a series for them.
If this manga fails it's not just another axe but Shueisha losing their investment especially since they paid a fuck load of money advertising this manga in newspapers and shit.
Toriko's situation was also another case of nepotism and Shueisha doing everything in their might to stop that failure of a series from flopping.

Is it bad that i'd take even TSS over Sam8? I kinda want it to fail desu.

Same. S8 failing would humble Shueisha and the entire Jump department.
Maybe then they will learn to not treat their young mangakas like trash.

How will Kishimoto failing teach them that?

At this point, I like the series and would like to see where Kishimoto may take it. The last few chapters have been a nice setup for the main cast's hero's journey. Provided the series continues, the main litmus test for it's longevity will be how Kishi plans to lay out and structure the galactic adventure. Will there be notable travel time to depict the vastness and let them have SoL segments? Will there be varied locations? How will the plot be structured, etc? The manga is at an exciting stage and since I'd like to have an ongoing space opera to follow, I hope that the series gets an earnest shot for its upcoming stage.

Shueisha is notorious for always favoring their old talents and giving them much better contracts while shitting all over their young talents like screwing with their assistants and giving them shitty editors that do nothing but botch the mangaka's vision and then the big bosses at the company complain why new series fail.

cut them a break
i rather bet old horse that prove its talent than new horse that i dont know about
the problem with current wsj editor is that they cant see current problem in Kishi

>current problem in Kishi
which is?

>So are they going though with the space adventure thing?
Prob, but the world building has been poorly executed so far. "Space" will feel like we're just going to different cities instead of different planets

Better introduce the power scale early rather than just starting out low only to get powercreeped later on.

this is Kishi though...he has no grasp of how to scale power

I just read the translation on mangaplus and it's easier to follow than MS' or JB's attempts. Given the info load that Kishi has been trying to convey so far, a decent translation is crucial, especially for a scifi manga and some headscratchers have become a lot clearer with the MP version. The early chapters are also a much better read in hindsight, when you go in with knowledge of some of the tech and concepts from the current chapters.

Attached: 1170355368418.jpg (643x726, 44K)

man kishi really let himself go. This has less soul than the end of naruto

Kishi isn't the artist, but the manga is still pretty souless
