The only song that approaches Carol's presence (Not a quality judgement) is Ressou Gungnir, and that was a constructed false front. Mobage went on it's on route way back, they didn't even bother adapting AXZ, they just had the anime events happen outside of the Mobage's universe, Adam and the Alchemists are just fine and dandy (hell, Adam's a good guy and so are the Alchemists). Miku's a Gear user (which leads to one of the main issues she has with Hibiki in XV). So they'll probably keep doing things their way.
We might get an Ova or movie to wrap everything up if they feel like it, but we've known for some time this would be the last season.

You're still not getting it. It's rejection: That's the whole reason Noble Red got that dumb line.
The problem is that Tsubasa is so out of line with expected responses that Maria and Chris are completely unable to approach. The closest thing she came to for actually broaching the topic was literally during Karaoke, where (Despite Miku's protest), she actually was approaching the root of the problem, simply because Tsubasa herself was starting to realize her reactions were strange.
There's nowhere to chase Tusbasa to; there's no enemy to grapple. Tsubasa is actively pushing them away on an emotional level. Chris may have been trying her own gambit, but she was still willing to accept Tsubasa's feelings.

I get it fine. The problem is that, in execution, nobody has actually done shit for her. Of course Tsubasa is out of line and reacting badly but there wasn't some big explosion where she told them to fuck off. She slapped Maria's hand once, lightly I might add, out of shock and made this face while doing it clearly just as surprised as Maria was.
Maria then immediately collapsed from that "rejection" without even trying and Chris hasn't fucking said shit to her senpai. The best effort anyone has given her was Hibiki's karaoke date and she spent most of her time stuffing her face full of pancakes trying to make it a party.
I get that the big idea is that Tsubasa is shutting herself off from her friends but that's not what we're seeing. We're seeing her hide in her bike, sure but even Kanade wouldn't leave her alone then.

Yes, there's never going to be enough screen time for every waking moment but considering Tsubasa has been one of the main girls since the whole thing started I think she and her drama deserved a bit more focus than she's getting. Especially when they're were all to happy to give so much attention to Noble Red that they just basically ended up throwing out the window anyways. Pacing has always been one of the series weirdest issues but considering the weight of things it feels really bad here.
Your second paragraph is fair. In fact I think it's got plenty of potential in it's own right and probably a good reason why we should have seen Maria try harder but then Tsubasa explodes in an actually hard way. Maybe if only for a brief second she blames Maria for what happened, realized what she said and then ran out then leaving everyone stunned. Maria is hit with rejection and guilt, Tsubasa falls harder because she knows it's not Maria's fault and that she feels bad for saying it but then Fudo interrupts and now since the crazy train has no breaks they haven't had chance to make up.
