He is really killing the show for me. His eventual character arc is extremely predictable from the moment you catch him and you just know he's gonna delay the story the moment he first joins Nezuko and her brothers adventure.

Get's worse. Story goes through a few crappy rushed training arcs, very little character development for the slayers, and just fight, kill, flashback sad scene for demon.... over and over.
Some of the fights will be cool to see animated but the manga is overrated and it's a fast paced mess of a manga.
So if you're not liking it by 20, move on.
