Why didn't he just take the Shadow into UBW?

>take the shadow into UBW
UBW is a reality marble.
the shadow is the six billion evils that angra mainyu has, no way he can simply wash them over himself.
Why didn't archer just trace excalibur and nuke the matou estate as soon as he was summoned?
Is it ever implied what route archer comes from. Never read the vn
Why didn't Illya just heal Shirou? I mean, she is a super strong mini-magus.
>six billion evils vs unlimited number of swords
I guess you are retard
He can't just trace Excalibur because it's not made of normal materials. He can get close, but that's more trouble and mana than it's worth
Basically an alternate Fate route where he wasn't able to save Saber. Some fans like to say he's from the Illya route
UBW as far as I know. Though I guess technically there could be Archers for every bullshit that happens in the world I guess.
Can people just accept Heavens Feel has to make a bunch of ass pulls why the various servants all get BTFO'd by angry Matthew?
>Heavens Feel has to make a bunch of ass pulls
You mean, the whole franchise.
>post yfw you read all the paragraphs the angry Gilgamesh fanboys are writing ever since the blue rays came out
>BUT BUT HIS EGO
>BUT BUT HE DIDN'T THINK SAKURA WAS A THREAT
>HE COULD HAVE PULLED OUT EA
>IF HE TOOK IT SERIOUSLY HE WOULD HAVE WON
>IF IT WAS CASTER GILGAMESH
If shadow servant EMIYA can do it, so can proper EMIYA
just breed your servants
So is the child gonna be mashu straight away or?
you mean 3 childs, gudao is a semen demon
>grand order manga.
That image alone is several degrees of noncanon.
>he doesn't know how canon works in Type-Moon
Literally everything is canon because of world lines. Even school life is canon.
caladbolg would do fine
he cant carry the shadow in it though
Archer was fucking cool in lost butterfly I have to give him that
Just give up and stop caring. Heaven's Feel is the route that disregards its own logic several times just to make shit work. It's a route that was half written for Illya then changed to Sakura during development.
The movies are going even dumber with all the shit they're cutting out from the VN.
Enjoy the fights, enjoy the light show, and then move on.
Assassin gets bullied so hard in the HF route.
Next movie will have Kotomine beating the shit out of him too.
Cursed Arm will get his justice in the Camelot movies
he starts out menacing but each of his appearances is a nerf for him
The various hassan gets more play in pretty much everything that isn't Fate/SN or Zero related. Like every writer decided they hated how the hassan got used and wanted to make them useful and cool.
becasue the original idea for assassins were ohh they are shit vs servants but they are made to hunt masters yet they never really truly do that shit successfully.
>Why didn't he just take the Shadow into UBW?
Why didn't he just trace some giant eagles and fly the grail into a volcano user who the fuck knows?!
which assassin is servant is the most caring towards his master?
Can someone explain why saber alter is suddenly the strongest being to ever exist. I get she was nerfed by shirou being a shit master. But what about toshaka and her broken mana. And even further when kiri/iri summoned her. This power jump is ridiculous. So far nothing else in the series compares even though herc and gil are supposed to be the strongest.
she was always weaker since she was not a full heroic spirit but I cant explain the alter part
Infinite mana. In the HF route of the VN Shirou and co. arrive just in time to see Saber Alter deal the finishing blow on Herc. Apparently the earth was charred and scarred like she was firing off several excalibeams in a row and Herc couldn't deal with the onslaught of several successive supernukes in a row.
The movie made the fight WAY more flashy because the fights are lacking until the last 2 days in the HF route.
doesn't godhand provide resistance to whatever killed you?
>AAAGGGHHH NO HELP ME KIREI HASSAN JUST TAKES MY HEART
>AGGGGHHHH NO HELP ME KIREI THE SHADOW DOESN'T TAKE DAMAGE FROM MY GOB
>AAAGGGHHH NO HELP ME HASSAN KIREI JUST FUCKING KILLS ME WITH HOLY WORDS WHILE HAVING NO HEART
>AAAGGGHHHHH NO HELP ME SABER ALTER RIN IS DESTROYING ME WITH ONLY A SWORD
>AAAAGGGHHHH NO HELP ME SHIROU SABER ALTER IS DESTROYING MY HORSE WITH A BEAM
>AAAAGGGHHH NO SHIROU YOUR STRENGTH D IS TOO POWERFUL IT DESTROYS ENDURANCE A, MY ARMOR, SPILLS MY ORGANS AND BREAKS MY SPINE
Shirou literally traces Excalibur and destroys angrymanjew with it
I don't remember that ever stated in the VN.
I love watching gilfags seethe.
Yeah he projects Excalibur Alter and blows up the grand grail with it.
Projecting Excalibur is sure death for Shirou/Archer unless it's that shitty fucking Fate/Extra spin-off universe where on the mooncell apparently Archer can fire off Excaliburs several times a fight.
What are the biggest asspulls in the Fate series?
>God Hand has the ability to make Berserker's body immune against an attack after it has been damaged once by the said attack
that's why he's such a wall in the HGW
otherwise, even Cu could just potentially spam rune boosted gae bolg and be done with it
She's not
>Jobs to Shirou and Memedusa
>Jobs to Shirou going all out with Archer's arm
>Jobs to Cu Caster and weak Mashit
>Mashu said she was weaker than Jets with a pole
>Jobs to GalaCHAD instantly
>The movies are going even dumber with all the shit they're cutting out from the VN.
How much was cut from the VN?
>archer getsdestroyed by artoria in UBW
>Weaker archer can defeat stronger artoria in 5 attacks
This is utter bullshit
There's very little difference between Excalibur Alter and regular one.
It's still a divine construct despite being tainted by evil or whatever.
Just illya fags seething
Saber Alter has a worse instinct and AGI
*Excalibur Morgan
>Caliburn taking 6-7 of Herc lives
>Avalon reflecting Merodach
>Shirou beating Kirei 1v1 in Fate
>Shirou stalled long enough to beat Redman
>Redman survived long enough to snipe Gil at the end
>Gemsword
>Nine Lives Blade Work
>Rider not being a match to Saber despite having unlimited mana
>Crane Wings beat Saber alter
>The catalyst for Saber Alter's birth
Nasu: Our motivations for creating Saber Alter were pretty simple. We were looking for a way to surprise the players who had played through both Saber's and Rin's routes. Also, Takeuchi said he wanted to transform the heroine into an antagonist, saying, "I want a dark Saber."
Takeuchi: While working on old "Fate", which is the source work for "stay night", Nasu told me about the plot twist where an enemy gains Master status over Saber and turns her into an enemy character. I thought it was a really fun idea, and I wanted to explore it in "stay night".
Nasu: There was a plot twist in old "Fate" where all of your friends get taken to the enemy side one by one, leading the situation to degrade into the worst possible scenario. I thought this storyline would work for the route where Sakura is the heroine, so I jumped on the idea when Takeuchi suggested it. But even I admit that seemed like the most obvious way to go, so I asked Takeuchi to create a dark version of Saber. On a side note, I did a lot of rearranging of old "Fate" when I was working on this game, and I realised that old "Fate" did not even have a Rin route.
Takeuchi: Saber as a whole is one of the most memorable characters I've ever worked on, so I definitely wanted to do right by her with the Saber Alter design
Nasu: We had set Sakura's route aside for a while because I was trying to decide whether to incorporate Illyasviel's route into it or not, and that's why so much time had passed between Takeuchi designing Saber and creating Saber Alter.
Takeuchi: Yes, all of the new designs for the Sakura route were put on the table after Saber's and Rin's routes were mostly finished. Nasu had completely finished writing the scenario for both of those routes by then, so we were able to sit down and examine what we felt was still missing with regard to potential storylines.
he came from the sella route
Instinct and AGI were the reasons why OG Saber didn't instantly die to Herc yet Saber Alter who had worse could beat Herc?
I am so fucking ready. They better not gut this fight for boring Rider vs Saber shit.
Archer states that Excalibur being a divine construct is tracable but at a degraded level and the mana required to actually do it is absurd which is why it's impossible under normal circumstances. Only reason Archer could do it in Grand Order was because he was corrupted by the grail and was being fed tons of mana from it. Even still using Excalibur here nearly kills him and heavily damaged his spirit core.
saber alter has unlimited magical energy and just does whatever the fuck she wants without worry
Saber Alter has infinite mana and the shadow
Anything that's A+ rank or higher doesn't get ranked down by God Hand. I think it was stated anything higher than Herc's divinity is the same too.
So, why didn't the Counter Force acted in any of the FSN routes?
Archer being re-summoned in UBW to steal the kill doesn't count
yeah but, for example, gaining 20% resistance of an attack that does 2000 damage when your health is 500 wont prevent you from not dying to it again.
>take angra mainyu into your soul
>become corrupted to the core
That's real smart.
>Archer being re-summoned in UBW to steal the kill doesn't count
Explain this
Counter force is reactionary not proactive. Until a large number of humans start dying Ayala won't notice.
Archer wasn't re-summoned. He was still alive, just barely made it out during the explosions and smoke of Gil's attack. He hid himself and clung to what little mana he had left to get a good sneak attack on Gil.
Also as said the counter force only summons guardians like Archer as janitors. That's why he fucking hates it so much.
He could have at least teleported the nuke in ubw and project a stronger rho aias while he's at it
>Archer wasn't re-summoned. He was still alive, just barely made it out during the explosions and smoke of Gil's attack. He hid himself and clung to what little mana he had left to get a good sneak attack on Gil.
Does the UBW route have the most asspulls?
THEY better not fucking fuck up Kirei. I haven't bothered with any of the movies yet but if they dare mess up Kyrie Eleison or his final confrontation I will wish the 6 billion evils upon the director.
how is that an asspull? archer class independent action allows him to survive.
Archer returning to kill Gil was such an anticlimactic ending it made me genuinely angry. Terrible writing.
>Does the UBW route have the most asspulls?
How is it an asspull? He didn't suffer any fatal damage and Servants cannot die from blood loss.
Please shut your mouth on matters you don't understand. Thanks.
>Herc got hit by multiple np
>died
>Archer got hit by multiple np and had no master
>lived
Based and meidopilled
What is Independent Action B?
So long as you still have mana to continue existing then servants with that skill don't dissipate instantly. Archer conserved his mana. Where's the asspull? If you're going to talk about asspulls talk about Gil using that skill and a pack of half-dead children as a mana source to survive for 10 years.
Someone explain wtf sakura was thinking when she left shirou's house. What did she want to accomplish.
Herc was held in place and had the NPs pierce fatal areas (head and heart) several times in a row over a course of a long fight, and was also restrained and skewered repeatedly.
Archer got pierced in non-fatal areas by a handful of swords and ditched.
>Why didn't he just use the most useless move in the entire 5th HGW only good for looking swag and beating Gil?
Archer deserved better instead of that epileptic explosion fest between Saber and Berserker. Also why was his Rho Aias bigger than in UBW? Artistic decision or was it by having Rin as a master plus extra motivation?
The difference is Herc is a proper servant with a proper counter. Out of the np spam, a few of them work on demigods like herc. Enkidu is basically a bigger cheat than ea.
I want to see the sparks liner high ending honestly
Ufo's UBW was trash. Nearly every fight missed the point.
Just talking about stuff mentioned itt:
>Shirou wins vs Gil because UBW is replicating the strength of Gil, thus matching him blow for blow and destroying each weapon Gil pulls out
>thus Shirou SHOULD be up in Gil's face the whole time, because the moment he backs off and lets Gil think, Gil would pull something esoteric like Vimana or his armor that Shirou can't immediately counter with UBW: the way the fight went in the anime, Gil should have easily won
>Shirou actually learns how to fight on his own, with Kanshou and Bakuya only enhancing that; compare how in Fate Shirou struggles with one skeleton when Medea shows up to UBW Shirou who easily goes through half a dozen of them
I could literally go through each episode and list out a bunch of shit that just completely fucks over the story. It's a complete mess of an adaptation.
Archer is a shitty character and he deserves nothing but the most humiliating death.
In the pic his heart was hit and he was already on the verge of disappearing after a day without master. In his fight against Shirou he was only have 10% of his strength left yet for some reasons he could stay alive long enough to:
>tank np for Shirou
>cast RA to help Shirou
>blow up the grail to help Rin
>snipe Gil
>stay long enough to talk to Rin one last time while Saber who after blowing up the grail in Fate couldn't even finish her words to Shirou
>Ufo's UBW was trash. Nearly every fight missed the point.
No, it wasn't.
>Nearly every fight missed the point.
You're just a blind defensive retard who can't see the point unless it's spelled out in plain text for you to read you autistic little twat.
>Archer is fucking cool
Correct.
So what bonuses does the bd have? I read somewhere there were bonus sex scene abd sakura nipples, asking fkr a friend.
She wanted to sacrifice herself to take down Zouken. She probably could've done it, too.
Lost butterfly was mediocre and the berserker fight was overrated. Guess that's to be expected for the midpoint of the trilogy.
Can we go back to posting about the jackhammer?
Shirou is packing
>nearly every fight missed the point
They literally spelled it out for you and shoved the point down your throat compared to the VN.
Shirou vs Gil VN
>Shirou gets his shit wrecked inside out and nearly burns out his circuits trying to keep up with Gilgamesh
>When he finally gets the epiphany of what he needs to do, he does it CALMLY, because that's a part of his character and it's a part of his magecraft teaching. "Calmness in the face of death," and "Breathing"—the former is remarked upon several times in the VN by several persons and not just Tohsaka (and not just Shirou as the subject, but Saber as well), and the later is later explained in Materials II as an aspect in magecraft that allows magi to actively work with the self-hypnosis necessary to enact their world altering skills such as summoning fire, rituals, etc. Ciel, Saber and Kuzuki are natural proponents of this school of thought, which is why both their techniques are so clean, sharp, and hard-hitting.
>It was a hidden Archer who protected Shirou with Rho Aias while he was chanting. Some people misunderstood that part of the VN
>He chants the entire ten-count CALMLY
>He exchanges words once with Gil and then sets after him like a machine possessed
>His inner monologue reveals it's a last-ditch effort the entire time—the minute he stops charging, he'll drop to the floor exhausted
>He's actively breaking Gil's weapons and not giving Gil any time to breathe or regain composure, period
>He actively DOMINATES the exchange inside the RM and actually has the fight won before the concussive force of Excalibur blows away the RM
>None of this "it's just a flesh wound"—he has the fight entirely won of his own power
>The instant the RM drops, Angry Manjew is already upon Gil. No pause for dialogue or push/altering in Gil's own characterization to make him seem like a noble enemy (the only reason I can surmise for several of the changes when he's involved over duration of the anime.)
Every weapon Gil throws at him just provides Shirou the chance to throw the exact thing back and cancel it out.
His voice is so sexy here (no homo)
As a tertiary, the gil fight was pretty self explanatory. Gil had an ego about originals vs copies. Didn't try to take shirou seriously until it was too late and he was severely underestimating shirou. I also feel like somewhere they stated that shirou was downloading archers skills in that route due to time paradox shenanigans and the more they interacted the more shirou would download archer.
>I also feel like somewhere they stated that shirou was downloading archers skills in that route due to time paradox shenanigans and the more they interacted the more shirou would download archer.
It was mentioned when they first clashed swords during their fight
Shirou's UBW was disappearing too since he didn't have enough juice to keep it going.
yeah, it is the problem with action VNs. you have to remove a lot of the world building/inner monologue, change up characters/important scenes for the final product.
it's why adaptations like Dies Irae, Demonbane, Majikoi failed.
ufotable has the budget backing them.
>Dies Irae
I didnt really watch the anime, but the manga was shit.
I am the friend, show me.
Why does it seem like Archer doesn't completely hate Shirou in this route and instead is just annoyed by him. In fate Archer didnt have memories supposedly.
Also levels of bullshit attaching archers arm to shirou. Archer is summoned so why does his arm stay behind.
Yeah. Shirou was Archer lite at that point.
Archer wanted to crush Shirou's ideals but he wound up tempering them like a blacksmith with a nicked sword, repairing it.
Sakura's power uses an alternate dimension that works like an innate bounded barrier, so no dice. It can literally do the nothing personnel kid on him.
Archer was just blowing some steam by trying to murder his younger self. He never stopped truly believing in his ideals.
Seeing All the World's Evil means work for him and he observes that Shirou might give up on his ideals.
Because Shirou is no longer going to be redman in HF. Also nothing says the arm can't be attached, it just was unheard of. If you really need a reason, maybe the arm was using Shirou's mana output.
1. Archer was lying about not having his memories. It has been what feels like hundreds or thousands of years to him, he's spent a LONG ass time as a Counter Guardian so him trying to remember Rin's name was like an adult man trying to remember some things from when he was 4.
2. Archer will prioritize saving the world and winning the grail war so nobody gets fucked up by Angra Mainyu over all else. He's annoyed by Shirou and wants Rin to kill him off ASAP but he wasn't going to get off his ass and sneak around behind her back. He was fine with letting Shirou live.
3. Rin fucked up by buddying up with Shirou and getting too attached. This started pissing Archer off because he was constantly being shown his younger self. Imagine if you had to spend a whole week with your younger, more ignorant, embarrassing self who kept saying stupid shit you don't believe anymore. Eventually you're gunna want to set that little faggot straight. Archer's idea of setting him straight was stabbing him a lot and convincing him his ideal is impossible and he should grow up. He was acting harsh and aggressive because Shirou isn't just going to GET things from a calm, sensible conversation, especially when it involves his core self.
4. In HF, Archer had absolutely NO time for personal grudges. Sakura+Angra Mainyu are a legitimate world-ending threat and he needed all the help he could get to take care of it and save the world.
4. Attaching a Servants arm would never work if it was anyone else. It's like the concept of a reality marble - The world will actively try to crush the RM and correct the "inconsistency" the second it can. By Archer attaching his arm to his younger self, it's treated as Shirou's very own arm. As they are the same person, the world cant erase the arm like it does with RM and dead Servants.
Fate/stay night UBW Shirou vs Archer
>Shirou barely keeps up with Gil's sword spam without visible cues that his body's fucking up/shutting down from the attempt.
>He doesn't do his ten count aloud and pulls out Rho Aias without taking visible damage while chanting
>He yells the last of the incantation (This is actually incredibly important to Shirou's character and magecraft basics)
>He exchanges dialogue with Gilgamesh several times while exchanging sword-fire. At one point, he deliberately stops and expounds the weaknesses of UBW to Gil while crossing swords--in a moment where Gil, no matter his lack of combat prowress, should have been easily able to deal with Shirou in a variety of ways.
>Angra Mainyu doesn't immediately begin to swallow Gil when Saber breaks Shirou's RM (Excalibur was the reason the bubble didn't hold, so to speak), instead, an extended scene plays out that makes Shirou look like an incompetent for not finishing Gil off and infers both Angry Manjew and Archer are there to save his shortcoming.
The TV anime's Last Stardust use of UBW during Shirou VS Archer creates a number of plotholes. A Servant running off of fumes manifests a huge sink for an extended period of time that would allow him to easily overwhelm Shirou under logical circumstances solely for the sake of creating a action scene. The VN fight is a Servant with no source beating down Shirou without that much magical force behind his assault because he's literally incapable of manifesting any, which is why Shirou is able to stand his ground to any degree at all.
Miura strong point is action sequences, and he's basically the reason for that flashy fight/chase sequence between Lancer and True Assassin in HF1, as he's the one who directed it. Even if shit doesn't make sense in the context of Fate, he'll still do it as long as it's flashy. Hence why Shirou was jumping around like fucking Spider-Man in the fight against Gil.
>Attaching a Servants arm would never work if it was anyone else
Ahem, Sieg with Sumanai's heart
>4. In HF, Archer had absolutely NO time for personal grudges. Sakura+Angra Mainyu are a legitimate world-ending threat and he needed all the help he could get to take care of it and save the world.
What could Archer do to kill the shadow?
UBW anime was hilariously bad from a narrative and choreographical standpoint. This seems to be a trend with ufotable.
Redman is always cool
Would Archer kill Sakura if he knew?
Isn't Sieg a homunculus? I watched Apocrypha but I hated it so I didn't bother caring what happened.
>What could Archer do to kill the shadow?
His very best.
I have no clue. Probably stab Sakura with the rule breaker and then bumrush to the grand grail and blow it the fuck up?
HF is the longest FSN route, and we only have 3 films that last almost 2 hours. UBW got 26 episodes and still got it's fair share of criticism from VN fans.
What went so wrong?
>What went so wrong?
Nobody is ever happy
i have no idea how they are going to fit day 15 and day 16 into 2 hours.
>Kirei/Shirou alliance
>Kirei vs Zouken
>Shirou vs Berserker
>Shirou's mind going empty
>Zeltretch
>Shirou/Rider vs Saber
>Tohsaka vs Sakura
>Kotomine vs Shirou
>Shirou projects excalibur
So how is non Berserker Hercules stronger than Berserker? Gilgamesh treated the former as a much bigger threat.
Archer Herc can do tons of shit instead of fighting like a beast. Of course Gil would treat him as a better threat.
Imagine fighting the same Herc that went through the 12 labors and had all the items from his adventures.
Smarts and more NPs
>UBW anime was hilariously bad from a narrative and choreographical standpoint
I disagree. I think the UBW anime surpassed the VN's route and the few changes Nasu pushed for in the anime were excellent in compounding the already perfectly cohesive narrative into something truly beautiful.
That's a vague criticism. It was a good way to both explain UBW to the audience while actively pissing off Gilgamesh, forcing him to lose his composure. There's a reason why Archer shittalks his opponents a lot and it has nothing to do with pride or arrogance.
>>Angra Mainyu doesn't immediately begin to swallow Gil when Saber breaks Shirou's RM
It doesn't in the VN either. There's a pregnant moment where Gilgamesh calmly assesses what the fuck just happened before he starts getting swallowed up. Re-read the part in the visual novel, it was 1:1 with the anime, like a lot of things you criticize.
Berserker is brainlet that just smashes things, he doesn't keep his skill like Zerker Lancelot does.
Probably the weakest version of Herc.
He was only summoned that way because they wanted a loyal dog
He only projects excalibur in normal end if my memory is correct
>What went so wrong?
Nothing is perfect and nothing will ever be perfect.
Faggots will cling to any and all nitpicking they can, no matter how petty and inconsequential it is.
The HF movies and UBW adaptation are both great.
>the few changes Nasu pushed for in the anime
not him, but what were the changes Nasu pushed for in the anime?
Did anyone watch the European dubs of Fate?
he does it in both, but is stopped by best girll before he uses it in HF.
So what answer does Shirou come to in the Fate route? In UBW he ends up believing that his ideals are right in the end, in HF he believes that casting them away to protect those he loves is more important, but what about Fate?
You have to be proud of what you have done and accept them.
lol
In the Fate route his ideals were never challenged, they were presented. His answer is as you expect.
In UBW his ideals are challenged and he sticks to his guns.
HF presents a problem that directly clashes with his ideal, a problem that cannot be solved simply by sticking to his guns. He decides to adapt and prioritize Sakura but doesn't give up being a hero.
past is the past, and you need to accept it and move forward. a superhero doesn't change the past but fixes the present.
>In the Fate route his ideals were never challenged, they were presented. His answer is as you expect.
Church basement?
Huh, It seems like Rin finally started to work on her german.
I don't remember all the changes but in the VN Shirou and Archer fight using a ton of different swords but in the anime this was changed to kanshou and bakuya because they represent "truth" and "ideal" and the symbolism is heavier with Archer just stabbing Shirou with the "ideal" sword over and over.
Wait, I thought it was Angry Manjew?
More like Nasu now has enough money to hire someone who knows german to help him
That was never a hurdle for him. It was a sick and twisted realization that he could have wound up like that if not for Kiritsugu. It was an inevitability for those kids.
fuck im tearing up
His answer was a bit retarded though
>No their pain wouldn't go away even if you change the past believe me
>In UBW he ends up believing that his ideals are right in the end,
Why didn't UBW have an answer?
>I recall that red figure one more time.
>Neither this classroom nor that fight will change.
>Everything is the same.
>Everything is an illusion like a mirage that disappears when one turns around.
>But I can get there if I aim high.
>I will surely be able to catch up to his back with Tohsaka's help.
>So I'll come up with an answer at that time.
>Gemsword
Was badass and needs no asspull explanation.
What? There was no saving those kids. The second the fire happened, they were doomed to either die or become mana batteries.
>>Rider not being a match to Saber despite having unlimited mana
Mana doesn't work like DBZ power levels faggot. Infinite mana isn't going to give Medusa turbo muscles.
Can we talk about how amazing the VN music was? I really want to talk about how amazing the sound effects were. It felt better than a movie.
None of the kids would suffer if Shirou went back to the past to stop the fire.
he came from the leysritt route
those kids were not damaged from the fire, shirou was the only survivor of the fire, the kids were from houses that was outside of the fire but still lost their families somehow.
then out of all the orphans, shirou was the only orphan to survive.
It does give Saber alter turbo muscles
>None of the kids would suffer if Shirou went back to the past to stop the fire.
And how exactly would he do that?
they give a proper analogy to mana in rin/dark sakura confrontation.
even if you have infinite mana your body is like a tap that can only use some of that mana.
No, it lets her fire off consecutive excalibeams without worrying about mana capacity.
I mean but then you have the problem about the grail not being the perfect wiah granting machine like people think
Before they realize the grail was a scam both Shirou and Saber thought that they could get their wishes by using the grail.
Sorry, it's been a long ass time since I've read the fate route.
Unlimited mana = servants being able to fight all day long yet Rider after running around Saber alter a bit got exhausted.
Also Saber under Shirou was much weaker than Saber alter with unlimited mana.
T-Torrent link, please?
>Also Saber under Shirou was much weaker than Saber alter with unlimited mana.
And Saber under Rin is overall superior to Saber Alter.
Magic energy supply is THE reason why Saber Alter beat Herc's ass in. That's what was stated in the visual novel, that's what happened in the movie.

>And Saber under Rin is overall superior to Saber Alter.
How would Saber under Rin handle Gil?
Which is true, see Saber uses mana burst to increase the strength in her muscles right? Without mana she can't do that shit, but with unlimited mana she can mana burst all day.
>out of nowhere
Confirmed for not reading the VN.
How would Saber Alter handle gil?
>Which is true, see Saber uses mana burst to increase the strength in her muscles right
Medusa doesn't have mana burst, user.
If you're going to argue semantics please know the context of what you're arguing.
>Kirei's waifu
looks like mai waifu, his daughterfu
Thank you user!
Probably a lot better than Saber in the Fate route until he starts spamming Ea. With avalon: perfectly. Without: she might die.
She'd turn him into a screaming little boy until he used up all his mana using Ea and died while Saber casually pisses out excaliblasts all night.
My argument is that servants use mana for everything. Both Saber alter and Medusa are supplied with unlimited mana from Sakura yet Medusa got tired just by running around Saber alter while Saber alter had no problem attacking Medusa constantly.
Someone update this, wish I had the template.
>She'd turn him into a screaming little boy until he used up all his mana using Ea and died while Saber casually pisses out excaliblasts all night.
Wait so Saber Alter's Excalibur is stronger than Ea's blast?
Can't I just put mana in my muscles to make them stronger
Shirou does it in the VN
>My argument is that servants use mana for everything.
Read the water tap theory from the VN.
Medusa with infinite mana isn't suddenly going to be able to go super saiyan and punch the earth in half.
Saber is a bit stronger because of mana burst, but she's mainly just spamming excaliblasts.
That's why Shirou was able to fuck her up in Sparks Liner High; she can't use excaliblasts in the cave. She gets gutted by a half dead Shirou who tricks her into letting her guard down for a split second.
*laughs in sumerian*
"Look at the fakers fight."
>Wait so Saber Alter's Excalibur is stronger than Ea's blast?
Excalibur's blast matched Ea in the Fate route. I don't see why consecutive unending excaliblasts wouldn't outmatch Ea which has a limit.
That's strengthening magic.
She'd get skewered from all directions almost instantly thanks to shit AGI and lowered instinct.
>Medusa with infinite mana isn't suddenly going to be able to go super saiyan and punch the earth in half.
It's not about punching the earth in half, it's about fighting without exhaustion. I'm not saying that Medusa can get greater strength (although this is partially true since when under Shinji Medusa was weak as fuck) but that Medusa should be able to keep up against Saber alter for all day long like how Cu could keep up against Gil for half a day. However in that fight Medusa said that she could only keep up for 2 minutes, then 10 minutes later she was exhausted.
>she can't use excaliblasts in the cave
She did use it against pegasus
>She gets gutted by a half dead Shirou who tricks her into letting her guard down for a split second
So strength D can go through endurance A now?
What happened to the Lesser Grail in HF route? Shirou, Rin and Rider don't bother with it.
>Excalibur's blast matched Ea
But it didn't. Saber always lost in the sword beam matches.
>It was a hidden Archer who protected Shirou with Rho Aias while he was chanting. Some people misunderstood that part of the VN
No, you misunderstood that part. Archer used Rho Aias to protect Shirou when Gil first used Ea on him. Shirou still gets knocked out, goes into his own mind and finds his resolve, but then when he comes out of it, Gil says something like "you projected a shield?" even though we were in Shirou's head the whole time.
The narration has Shirou explicitly pulling out Rho Aias during the UBW chant.
The lesser grail is Illya. The grand grail is under the temple and nobody knows about it.
I actually forgot how they discovered the location of the grand grail in HF. I think maybe Sakura shows up at the estate and tells them to come underneath the ryudo temple.
Anyway after the Fate and UBW routes, Lord el Melloi II dismantles the greater grail.
>I will surely be able to catch up to his back with Tohsaka's help.
>So I'll come up with an answer at that time.
What is UBW Shirou's answer?
But it's not a mistake.
He already said that to Archer during their fight.
>Fate and UBW routes, Lord el Melloi II dismantles the greater grail.
I thought they just leave them be and thats how we get Hollow Ataraxia?
At the end of the Fate route, it specifically mentions the grail war being dismantled. They mention Lord el Melloi II as a "very jovial guy".
>What is UBW Shirou's answer?
"Doesn't matter what happens, my dream isn't a mistake."
He's never going to regret his actions. That's his answer.
Nah, HA is Angra's fever dream given to Bazette where he can spend the day having SoL moments in Shirou's body with everyone, fucking his harem, and raping Kotomine's sexy bitch tease of a daughter while he gets killed over and over again during the night.
i want to peel off her robe and lick her bandaged body all over
Saber lost, idiot.
Also Excalibur can't be spammed. She uses one attack each time. Why the fuck do you think she lost to Bellephoron + Aias? Gilgamesh blasts her with Ea and she's a corpse.
Badly. Gilgamesh doesn't care for her in that state. If it's FSN then it goes down to an Ea vs Excalibur battle. Which Gil canonically wins. If it's written by a competent author like Narita who uses Gil's skills properly, Saber won't even get the chance to pull out Excalibur before she's dead.
>used up all his mana
Gilgamesh has unrivalled mana for servants (said in Link), and he has his own grail. He'll never run out. That's just one of the reasons why you're wrong but I won't touch the others.
You should stop lying. Otherwise we know you're a fujoshit who likes Durarara
he's from the loser route
Stop being retarded. Gil still doesn't have enough mana to exist on Earth without the grail mud and his orphan bank.
>great
There's a reason we call it Ubshit, user
None of that was lies. Nasu went on record to say Alter, who has dropped Saber's ideals, does not interest Gilgamesh. Excalibur is inferior to Ea, said in materials.
Narita has Gilgamesh in one volume use more versatile weaponry than we've seen from Nasu in 14 years. Gilgamesh has shields that block NPs which should be fucking obvious, but he's never done it till now. He has lightning without form for shields, flame, and has an GoB+Enkidu combination to form a lightning dragon. Saber would get her ass handed to her against that Gilgamesh.
Oh no, it's retarded
Nasu said Gilgamesh could last there, because he's incarnated and has the highest level of independent action. Gilgamesh did not need Kirei's orphan babies, he went along with Kirei's sick fetish on purpose. You'd know this if you played the VN, because he said it there. Gilgamesh also has a grail, said in Zero and shown in FGO.
>"…I feel a power from atop the stairs. It seems something is being created in the pond behind the compound."
>"No, we don't have any business there. The gate above must be the ostensible gate for the Masters that want the Holy Grail. …If we want the Great Holy Grail, we have to go down instead of up."
>Tohsaka walks away from the stairs into the forest.
What happens to the gate?
Any Tsukihime fans here? Do the non-Arcueid routes vastly change the story up? Because I read through the arcueid route a while ago and it was very disappointing. 90% of it was just filler nonsense. No interesting antagonists and almost nonexistent action.
Kohaku/Akiha/hisui routes explicitly diverge and the real meat of Tsukihime. It's called the far side of the moob. Arc/Ciel was Near side and completely shit.
As expected of a retarded Gilfag. Nope, independent action doesn't mean you can exist on Earth without backup from anything.
And yes, Gil needed the orphans to help with his GoB spamming. You know this if you actually played the VN.
Also, read the materials. There are hundred of holy grails mentioned but what Gil has is not the kind of grail that could grant Heaven's Feel.
>As expected of a retarded Gilfag. Nope, independent action doesn't mean you can exist on Earth without backup from anything.
Based retard. The point is that Gilgamesh doesn't need Kirei's orphans, he can get mana himself.
>And yes, Gil needed the orphans to help with his GoB spamming. You know this if you actually played the VN.
Citation please. Then I'll cite where it's explicitly said he doesn't need that bullshit. Because the mana he could get from them is nothing compared to what he'd get from a grail
>Also, read the materials. There are hundred of holy grails mentioned but what Gil has is not the kind of grail that could grant Heaven's Feel.
Who gives a shit about this? Gilgamesh's grail is from the age of gods, filled with that ether which completely shits on what you could get in the modern era. It was said in Babylonia that whoever had that grail could change the entire world. His mana would be inexhaustible. Cry more Artoriafag.
>Arc/Ciel was Near side and completely shit.
Arcuied and Shiki's relationship is a simple one, being of mutual lust and attraction and isn't a perfect as they fight, argue, and have a lions share of misunderstandings and disagreements throughout her route. Arcueid while naive doesn't fully trust Shiki and more than once calls him a monster early on and gets irritated when he's reluctant to jump into action with her even going as far as to threaten his and his family's life if he doesn't accept working with her and Shiki struggles with his growing attraction to Arcueid, treating her far more cruelly than most characters(san Arihiko) until he comes to terms with those feelings and Arc getting influenced by Shiki's humanity and growing protective of him realizing his fragility but they grow to trust and love one another throughout the course of the route and their parting scene is genuinely one of the best written scenes I've read. With Ciel they're more equal and mutually tease one and flirt with one another Ciel is investigating and watching Shiki to see if he's Roa and when the revelation is revealed a lot of details of their interactions early in the route become more sorrowful up until their fight in the hallway where Shiki's willing to let Ciel kill him but refuses to die hating her even if everything up until that point between them might have been a lie. There's also the aspect of Shiki (surface level) normalcy is something Ciel wanted but could never have because of Roa's possessing her ruining her life and any semblance of normal happiness she could of had.
It's very clear during the entire VN how much Shiki holds Ciel dear. She also has plenty of endearing scenes.
>Also, read the materials. There are hundred of holy grails mentioned but what Gil has is not the kind of grail that could grant Heaven's Feel.
Why does any of this matter? Saber's mana is just grail connected that lets her have as much as she wants. All grails can grant this effect because they are literally mana pools. It's not like Saber herself has enough energy that she could meaningfully spend it. She's not enacting heaven's feel, just getting fished to a well of magic energy.
The VN said Alter Saber was the strongest Servant.
Also, no point in mentioning Narita.
You might as well mention Gil from Prisma Illya then but you won't because you are a hypocrite with double standards.
I guess we can say Bazett from Prisma Illya can easily kill Gil with her runs since Fate Gil does not have a fake heart made of regeneration mud so Prisma Illya Bazett would easily rip out Gil's heart
>fate
>heracles loses because of nasu bullshit since he wrote himself into a corner
>ubw
>heracles fights a guy that spams billions of nps, has an anti divine chain, etc
>heaven's feel
>heracles fights a roided up saber who just spams excalibur non stop
In some ways, I think it's pretty cool that Heracles keeps on fighting despite having the odds stacked against him completely and practically fighting a losing battle every time
>The VN said Alter Saber was the strongest Servant.
The VN also Gilgamesh was the strongest servant who when serious could not be matched. It also said Herc was the strongest servant. Mats also said Karna was unrivalled. Do I need to say more or are you done?
>Prism
Author has told us not to take his work as canon. FSF is canon and Nasu has given his input and guided Narita on what to do in interviews. Try again, kiddo.
>Author has told us not to take his work as canon.
To be specific, Hiroyama (?) said that his setting does not have the same mechanics as the other works and shouldn't be held to any credible standard. Not that Prisma itself is not canon.
It's more that the past is the past and you shouldn't erase it just because it had some tragedies. That's making light of the tragedies and also denying your own life. The various things that make up you and your past form the you of now and erasing unpleasant things can be even worse. His answer in the church in turn helps lead Saber to realize her own mistake along with their romantic time of enjoying each other, and getting Saber to have time as a human and woman.
user he had a physical body. He was reincarnated like Amakusa, or like what Iskander wanted. He can generate his own energy like Saber but he doesn't have to pay the cost of being a ghost and doesn't need an anchor in the form of a servant.
GoB is also very energy efficient.
Berserker is the worst class for him to be summoned with.
>take it into a reality marble
>it eats it all because its made of mana
Can you just scan the booklets, not just take images of them?
Nasu recently said that gilgamesh would win
Only situation where he loses is as a servant with a bad master against saber alter with a good master
>Can someone explain why saber alter is suddenly the strongest being to ever exist
Saber has always, from the beginning and without exceptions, been presented as the strongest servant. A lot of people don't get how bad she was nerfed under Shirou, having most of her stats downgraded and fuel supply cut off.
Didn't Shirou see the counter force in HF (VN)? I don't remember too well.
No, but pic related was in Episode 20 of UBW
>haha the strongest character jobbed to some bitch because of shit writing
Fuck off retarded Sakurafags.
Sometimes I imagine shirou casually projecting UBW during clock tower combat classes and wrecking everyone
KEK
Fate route but he doesn't save Saber. Fate route we see has Shirou seek out Saber for an unknown amount of time, enough that he forgets certain things about her
I recall him seeing a vision of a red shape at some point, which wasn't directly named, but the narrative suggests that the planet will react if he lets the situation escalate. But I can't find the CG now
Would you sacrifice everyone for Sakura?
>projects UBW in clock tower
>immediately gets sealed by enforcers
Everyone but Taiga
FGO honestly made me love all the Hassan, King Hassan being my favorite
The Counter Force is cool in that it will BARELY give enough power to fix a problem, Archer giving Shirou his arm was good enough to handle the Shadow even though Shirou dies without Illya's intervention.
Yes, I would feed her all the candy
Use your brain. Using UBW can simply be summoning a sword. Normal magi would just simply think Shirou can summon weapons not project a reality marble.
Shirou has no reason to bring a student into his reality marble because no enemy would require such a thing.
so does the Counter Force give a boost in power depending how big the problem is? if Archer is summoned to deal with a big ass problem does he get a power boost or are more Counter Guardians summoned alongside him?
Zelretch appears occasionally at the Clock Tower which is how he bailed out Rin.
Since pretty much mainly vampires and demons have reality marbles, Shirou could somehow catch Zelretch's interest just simply for the reality marble factor.
Remember Clock Tower licks Zelretch's feet and they didn't care about Rin anymore when Zelretch announced he felt like taking on a new student/
He’d get gemmed or suplexed by Luvia.
Because the problem didn't escalate for it to do some shit
Some people think that Archer reappearing in UBW isn't because of muh class skill but because Ayala re-sent him to Fuyuki
why the fuck are you spoonfeeding you little shit
He would just get the right amount of power to solve the problem. Not that world-ending threat matters anymore since CG will just prune any timeline where humanity is destroyed.
But he shouldn't have any free will as counter guardian so him reappearing as one in UBW doesn't make sense.
>Narita
>competent
Just give me a 10 minute Last Episode OVA. UFOtable. That's all I ask .
I read the manga and then went to the far side directly.
You can notice this quite early when shirou is training with saber and uses the very same moves as Archer (same animation)
By the time shirou fought with Gil he was much stronger than before, had Rin's mana and was fighting against a cocky opponent: I don't get why people are so surprised he managed to put Gil on the defensive, even if he would've ultimately lost the fight without Angela's indirect help.
Funnily enough Gil kept getting wrecked in strange fake.
Yeah, it genuinely did.
Two nitpicks: Archer protected Shirou from Ea with Rho Aias and then Shirou used his own as cover for using UBW, and Gil didn't receive a final blow so it could have still gone as in the anime. Though the "lol Gil is fine" was fucking stupid. But have to placate those Gilfags, yeah?
100% this.
>I think the UBW anime surpassed the VN's route
It has numerous fuck ups, starting from the first fucking episode. It's a complete fucking mess and most of the changes that Nasu included make no sense.
>That's a vague criticism. It was a good way to both explain UBW to the audience while actively pissing off Gilgamesh, forcing him to lose his composure.
No, you fucking retard. Giving Gil ANY space to breathe and think is a death sentence. UBW can only supress GoB so long as its a matter of swords. The moment Gil pulls out something like Vimana; something that is exotic and un-replicable, then Shirou can't pressure Gil any more. It should have been a hard beatdown with Gil being forced to retreat the whole time, because the moment the flow turns Shirou is fucked.
>There's a pregnant moment where Gilgamesh calmly assesses what the fuck just happened before he starts getting swallowed up
During which time Shirou should have been raping Gil's ass.
Shirou literaly says "That's okay, I don't need UBW. I can kill him just fine now." in the VN when UBW collapses. Yet magically, with a literal SCENE BREAK, Gil is somehow back on top. Armless, with a huge wound through his torso, without a weapon within range of Shirou, Gil had literally no way to get out of that situation.
It was literally DEUS EX MACHINA that saved Gil there.
Shadow is anti-servant
It can eat right through any servants ability or servants themselves just like water eats through paper
Cu's master rune can block any greater phantasm, and shadow ate right through it in a second.
All that would happen is shadow eats UBW, and then corrupts it.
>Some fans confirm he's from Ilya route
Its literally been proven otherwise now. The Ilya route theory only existed before Nasu went out of his way to confirm what happened during Archer's personal route during life.
It was basically Fate, he didn't save Saber, went to clock tower for a bit, then went to middle east, and died.
Who did Rin summon?
Oh geez oh wow, who did Rin summon in Fate route I wonder? Learn how time paradoxes work. No Rin didn't summon something entirely different originally.
>All that would happen is shadow eats UBW, and then corrupts it.
UBW seems immune to that, though. I mean where Cu's shield failed Archer's Rho AIas was completely fine. Similarly Archer could block Shadow tentacles with Kanshou and Bakuya.
>D strength Archer kicks a B strength Assassin around
Should Assassin be able to easily overpower Archer? He is so fucking weak in close combat.
I don't care what you say, Shirou vs Archer happening in UBW will always be better than in the Einzbern castle. Plus Shirou changing Archer's UBW at the end of the fight was great.
Me with the name shirou
>Learn how time paradoxes work.
They don't, you doofus.
>No Rin didn't summon something entirely different originally.
sauce
>Rho Aias was fine
Shadow ate right through it in seconds
>He could block shadow tendrils
There's a difference between shadow trying to corrupt something or not. It doesn't care if its tendrils get cut much since it grows more, but if there's a wall blocking it, it'll eat right through it. And if it identifies weapons as a threat, it'll eat them, just like how it ate Gate of Babylon.
Nothing is immune to shadow when its actually decided to eat something. Its just that when going up against Archer it was distracted by Rin. It even threw away Archer and didn't eat him in order to focus more on Rin.
Heaven's Feel will always be weird to me. People that love it talk about it as if Shirou is human at the end, but it never felt that way. Maybe that's just the Japanese way of seeing what a human is, but he just feels like he ends HF an empty parasite that's dependent on Sakura rather than a person.
Like he's traded Kiritsugu's ideal for Sakura's ideal, rather than finding his own path.
My nigga
>Gil is too retarded to understand what UBW does even after seeing it
Really dumb.
>Shadow ate right through it in seconds
Literally saved their lives.
>Nothing is immune to shadow
Lmao never mind you're retarded.
>Maybe that's just the Japanese way of seeing what a human is
Most of the people who tell you this here aren't japanese though.
>Like he's traded Kiritsugu's ideal for Sakura's ideal, rather than finding his own path
Like the argument is that he needs to find something original to believe in, rather than relying on borrowed ideals. Only, he just changes "everyone" to "Sakura" and calls it a day.
Yeah, but most people here are either fucking weebs or sea monkeys, and Fate has a shitload of sea monkey fans.
He's working for Saber, meaning he's connected to her. It's possible to recreate god-forged arms if you have the support of the original wielder.
Redman used RA against the shadow? I don't remember that from the vn.
Also Rin was cutting the shadow with pure magical energy so it's not really immune to anything. Gil also hurt Sakura who was within the shadow with GoB too.
Noble Phantasms and body-strengthening. When he's wielding Kanshou and Bakuya, it actually boosts some of his parameters, like a passive buff.
He literally can't do that. Other humans might be able to, but Shirou lost that ability in the fire.
That's because he did. He just changed his "save everyone" for "save Sakura".
>I don't remember that from the vn.
He didn't in the VN, it's ufo's adaptation original.
>Heaven's Feel Shirou is Kamen Rider Wizard
Now I understand why I hate it.
Everyone kicks assassin around in close combat, he's weak as fuck as his class should be. Don't take him physical stats seriously because they're better than Shirou's Saber who could trade blows with Herc.
>Redman used RA against the shadow? I don't remember that from the vn.
It didn't. He just grabs Rin while Shirou grabs Illya as the Shadow blows up. In the movie the Shadow is much more aggressive.
Which is what I originally thought was the point of HF; that Shirou dies again and is reborn as a human. But that doesn't happen, so he's still fundamentally broken, just in a less interesting way.
So Kojiro is actually stronger than Assassin in combat?
Of course. His only problem is being stuck in same place.
Being able to place someone before everybody else is a big thing, you know, especially for him.
He's not a savesakurabot and learns to value himself after the route.
That wasn't really the point. There are things that you can never get back, and this is one of them. It's not as if stress alone will undo the damage done to his mind. Shirou is a fundamentally broken person. Beating on him repeatedly with trauma and pain isn't going to fix that.
Heaven's Feel isn't meant to be an "absolutely correct path". It's meant to be taken as a possible answer to his future. Whether that's a good end or not is up to you to decide. That's all. Things that are lost won't be regained, but you can find new things if you continue to live.
>>Heaven's Feel Shirou is Kamen Rider Wizard
Haven't watched it. Mind explaining?
He really doesn't. Even his value in himself is only in the context of what Sakura values. Sakura values him, thus he must preserve himself for Sakura's sake. I mean, you read Heaven's Feel, right? In his inner monologue, his self preservation is pretty much entirely tied to the fact that Sakura needs him. If, hypothetically, Sakura were to die, then he'd lose everything. He threw away his ideals and killed Saber. If Sakura were to die, then he'd have nothing left. He'd be nothing but a hollow shell.
>learns to value himself after the route
Compared to Fate's "Keep going until you get to Avalon and then rest" and UBW's "Rin: Fuck you, I'll MAKE you happy, kicking and screaming if I have to.", that feels kind of bland.
>He's dependent on her, HE'S A PARASITE, it doesn't count, he only picks Sakura's ideals !!!!
Point is he decided something for himself, and the choice he made at the end of the route where he couldn't kill himself, means he now understands what it means to prioritize certain things. That's the moment when he truely became human instead of a machine. A machine simply acts because of its function, Shirou however was able to decide his function for himself. Its the route that breaks him and makes him realize that he's just human. He wasn't able to deny his feelings, he wasn't able to kill her, he compromised on so many things, he realized the world wasn't black and white, and he had to make choices for himself rather than simply obeying his functions like a heartless machine.
He didn't just pick Sakura's ideals, he chose for himself. Sakura didn't tell him to do any of this shit, none of this shit was Sakura's ideals. Sakura herself said she just wanted to die, Shirou didn't let her, he chose to make her live and make her experience what its like to actually live for real, since he pitied her never being able to actually dream for real.
Because Shirou takes broken items in his shed and fixes them, this is a metaphor for how Shirou likes to take broken people into his house and fix them. Its not because the item told him to fix it, its not because he needed to take on the items ideals because he had none, its just because he wanted to fix this thing since he wanted to make it happy again. Shirou isn't a parasite that needed to latch onto something, he just earnestly wanted to make Sakura happy, and help her like she helped him. Previously he'd simply act for his function and prioritize his ideals over anything, but now he's realized how to make a choice for himself, that's why he's human now.
I feel the OST doesn't fit the movie at all. Between that and the deformed art it takes away all the magic from the VN. In that sense DEEN was better.
Which releases should I download for the HF movies?
Despite all its flaws, Deen Stay Night had superb ost.
Don't really care for its version of Sword of Promised Victory, though. It lacks majesty.
------No.
I can't go back if I use it.
I know I'm going to disappear anyway.
But I have to try to find some other way as long as I'm alive.
I promised that I'll protect Sakura from everything.
I can't selfishly die.
I want to live with Sakura.
So---------
You can take this however you want, but I was happy to see Shirou think about what he wanted for himself.
I want to be with Shirou forever. Can't deal with how perfect he is.
True
t.seanigger
the point of HF is that Shirou finally stops trying to live up to an ideal version of Kiritsugu that never existed and starts constructing his own moral framework. Like, Shirou can't just be reborn as human. He's deeply traumatized and there's no magic fix for that, the only way for him to get better begins with him accepting that choosing to save someone who makes you happy even if it means not failing to save strangers you've never met, while tragic, is still a valid and human choice,
Yea but depends whose np is unleashed first
Long story short.
Phantoms in Wizard work on despair. If you despair the inner monster takes over and becomes a monster. Wizard, like all riders, is supposed to fight for justice. His whole shtick was to be the hope for the hopeless and stop their despair from taking over.
Around 3/4s of the way through the main antagonist is revealed to be his teacher, who made the ritual that turned Haruto into the protagonist in the first place. Everything was to bring back his daughter. At this point Koyomi, the doll that's supposed to be the vessel for the daughter, fucking dies or something. Haruto promptly stops giving a fuck about justice and hope and nearly sacrifices everyone for MUH KOYOMI until he's reminded that he's the good guy.
Then he fucks off to travel for a while in order to remember what being a rider is.
It's not like he didn't think such things in the other routes. In Fate, he was tempted to just run away with Saber. In Unlimited Blade Works, he expressed his fascination with the beauty if Kiritsugu's ideal.
He wasn't trying to live up to an ideal version of Kiritsugu. He already knew that Kiritsugu failed to become an ally of justice. Shirou's goal was to succeed where Kiritsugu failed.
I'm not big fan of Deen Stay Night's remixes of VN tracks, but I really liked the original tracks.
Deen had a way better sound direction(though not always voice, as Shirou is waaaay more hotblooded in the UBW movie, there's even an Emiya mix with that: youtube.com
Still, I know of prefer Deen's best moments over Ufotables. youtu.be
Like that scene is waaay cheaper than ufo's animations, especially since the Saber slash is re-used a couple of times iirc during earlier fights. But the execution really shows how experienced the Deen guys were.
Also Kenji Kawaii > All others, Fact.
Yeah, it was top tier and it suited the mood for Fate perfectly. Instead here we get generic soulless Kajiura music (I'm not saying it's bad, it just feels like it's not composed with HF in mind). Kajiura's compositions were more suited for KnK. Maybe it's just a direction problem though, I don't know.
>the point of HF is that Shirou finally stops trying to live up to an ideal version of Kiritsugu that never existed and starts constructing his own moral framework.
But he had already done that. It's NOT a borrowed ideal, that's just the argument Archer uses and which Shirou even refutes in UBW.
It's something HE believes in.
>He's deeply traumatized and there's no magic fix for that
And yet they literally envoke true magic to keep him alive. With Sakura being able to finally move forward, why wasn't Shirou.
Huh. I miss showa era Riders.
>Haruto promptly stops giving a fuck about justice and hope and nearly sacrifices everyone for MUH KOYOMI until he's reminded that he's the good guy.
Yeah you have no idea who HF Shirou is. HF Shirou didn't sacrifice anyone, he didn't want to hurt anyone, all he did was not be able to hurt Sakura and want to protect her. He didn't let Shadow kill anyone either, he actively explored town each night trying to save it from Zouken and Shadow. Despite people saying that shirou gave up everything for Sakura and that he actively murdered everyone in town for Sakura, he did no such thing ever. Shirou tried to play it both ways and protect the town while also protecting Sakura, even protecting her from herself so that she didn't hurt someone so that she wouldn't regret it later.
However Fate is all about how you can't have things both way. The only thing he couldn't compromise on was that he couldn't hurt Sakura anymore, he wanted to protect everything but he was no longer sure how to do it. He didn't forsake wanting to help people, he just said that hurting an innocent person wasn't justice, and he was right.
Nah. Wizard is considered one of the worst series in Heisei, along with Ghost.
Totally agree with you there. DEEN was cheaper but it's clear the people working on it knew what they were doing and how to handle the resources they had while keeping the feeling of the VN. That scene's soundtrack and execution is top tier.
My favourite is ever present feeling
From his point of view, he basically allowed all those people to die by protecting Sakura. He was willing to shoulder that sin because Sakura was more important to him. It's important to look at this from his point of view. People died as a direct consequence of Sakura continuing to live. Because Shirou protected Sakura, he could no longer be an Ally of Justice. He had to throw that ideal away in order to save her.
>we
Ctrl+F... huh, what do you know. Just you.
He actually cried when he had to kill Saber to reach Sakura.
He became an ally of sakura
You're just making it sound even more like Wizard bro.
literally casual-tier taste
nostalgia blinds the judgement spit on my favourite with your favourite then
>that "EKUSUKALIBAAA"
>the repeated hit sound
>Gil's pained groan
Holy shit it's good.
Exactly. But being an Ally of Sakura isn't the same as being an Ally of Justice. In this scenario, it was the direct antithesis.
There is meaning in that scene where Shirou burns all the names of the victims on the news into his memory. He was shouldering the weight of that sin. And when he killed Saber, when he killed someone who had proclaimed herself to be his ally in order to protect the one he himself had allied to, that was beyond redemption. It didn't matter to him that Saber was blackened; if anything, as far as he was concerned, it was his fault that happened in the first place. And then he killed her in order to save Sakura. In his mind, it was absolutely unforgivable, but he was willing to accept that burden for Sakura's sake.
Whenever people talk about how "Shirou saved everyone" or "how Shirou never betrayed his ideals", they never really consider how Shirou feels. The reason Shirou is in so much pain in that route is because he's pretty much betraying everything he stood for up to that point. He's betraying the last ten years of his life.
That's actually a well thought statement
Man of a survivor of the shadow incident actually wanted revenge on Sakura it would hurt both her and Shirou so much
Don't tell Narita. He'll have fuel for a new series once he's done with Strange Fake.
How could anyone know? There's literally no evidence.
They wouldn't even know how to express it, right? It's not like the shadow ran around dropping business cards, people just vanished. Iirc. Even legit magi actually looking for the shadow couldn't figure out what it was until the end.
>Survivor of the shadow incident
There's no "Survivor" either you died or you didn't.
>They'd want revenge
How the fuck would they know that the dreams of a magical girl were escaping each night and eating people outside of her knowledge? No one could know that, just like no one could know that magic exists in the first place. Even Sakura doesn't really have knowledge of what the fuck happened at night.
Plus Shirou already chose to be her personal Jesus and take on all the burdens that came after this, in order to make her happy. If someone got angry at her, he'd quietly take care of it behind her back so she wouldn't find out. Because he wants her to be able to slowly grow and be able to live as a real human for once, she can't do that if she's always taking steps backwards.
I want to see a world where Shirou summons Lancer somehow. Luckless best bro and suicidal ginger stumbling through the HGW,
tsuioku no kanata, kokoro no chime, blue sky
Well, they might have surprisingly decent compatibility. At the very least, they get along reasonably well in Fate/hollow ataraxia.
It took Shirou 10 years to learn why he became an orphan. Similar thing could happen to a victim.
Lancer shouldn't be much worse under Shirou. Kotomine is shit magus who dropped Gil's stats down 1 rank from Tokiomi who is just average magus himself.
They get along well for sure. It would be really fun to see (imo) the most laid back and practical-thinking servant trying to keep Shirou from landmining himself every couple of hours.
What if Shirou summoned Saber Lancelot? And Avalon somehow still works just to keep him from dying easily.
She was resisting doing jew's shit all the time.
He only learned because someone who knew about it told him. The only ones who know the details of that incident are Shirou, Rin, Sakura and Rider. Rin made sure to keep certain details a secret from the Association.
Shirou only found out because he's magus participating in same magic ritual. Unless that victim is magus too, there's almost no chance of knowing the truth because magic is concealed from normal people.
Well he likes Shirou. After all, Lancer only allies with Shirou and Rin after seeing how desperately Shirou tried to save Illya from Gilgamesh, despite the futility.
Speaking of which, the absolute worst Servant for Shirou would probably be Brynhildr.
Should be worse off than with Artoria. Lancelot might be better swordsman, but Artoria has nifty shit like her mana generator, insane mana pool and stronger noble phantasm which really helps when your master is shit magus.
Not the best idea. Shirou is similar to Saber in all the worst ways, so it might trigger something in Lancelot.
Lancelot could fuck the neighborhood for mana
Shirou wouldn't let him.
Why?
anyone?
Because he's too similar to Sigurd.
HGW4 Caster would be really bad too. No idea how that would even happen, but that wouldn't last more than a few minutes either way.
I wonder how many days Shirou could stay alive if he summoned Brynhildr. She'll probably start thinking he's Sigurd as soon as first battle with Herc.
It may just indirectly lead the right man to solve the problem. Like with Shiki and Souren.
He wouldn't summon him in the first place. Even with a catalyst, he'd just summon the sane version.
Yeah I suppose crazy versions are kind of cheating.
I don't see much similarity
Emiya, Sigurd and Siegfried are very similar to one another. Especially in their beliefs and ideals.
How about fucking neighborhoods' married women for mana?
dude shadow servants are weaker than regular servant
I want a ilya route so bad.
Why doesn't EMIYA just always trace avalon?
he would be invincible
Shirou can only trace it when he has active contract with Saber.
It's not asspulls though, Angry man is literally cheating since he has the fucking grail at his disposal, y'know, the thing that is allowing all of the heroes to exist in their servant forms in the first place?
In theory, Shirou may be able to project Excalibur if he has an active contract with Saber.
It's in the fate route right beside the red bridge?
>Q: Archer's greatest defense is "Rho Aias", but if he were the same person as Shirou, shouldn't his greatest protection be "Avalon"? In the Rin route, Archer knew that the holy sword's sheath was inside Shirou, so wouldn't the Heroic Spirit form of the Shirou that "knew" that the sheath was merged with him be Archer?
>A: Avalon’s power won't work if Saber's not connected to it. It's a different story during the Grail War, but all it does when Saber isn't around is make Shirou's magic attribute into "sword". Also, after the Grail War is taken apart, the line between him and her will be gone, so it's best to think that his image of "Avalon" also disappeared.
Does every dragon trait servant have big pool of mana or it's just Artoria?
He doesn't trace it in that battle, but activates the actual Avalon that's inside him. He traces it in final battle of fate route to dispel the curses Kotomine sent at him.
I don't remember if every single one of them is like that, but Sigurd definitely has similar thing to Artoria's dragon core.
>BTFOs Koujiro simply by manifesting
>easily disposes of Medea in her territory while looking her in the eye
>outsmarts Cu and kills him
>then dances around Seiba until she stumbles and dies
>at least survives despite his retard of a master making him go 1v1 in an open area against Rider
He had a good run.
Sigurd's Dragon Core allows him to fight without an external source of mana. He doesn't need support from his Master, so the Master can just sit at home and act as an anchor.
He didn't. What he did was review what he wanted instead of just saying that this is incompatible with the ideal. It's just that in no ending was he ever "fixed" so some parts are messed up. Like even in HF he wants to be with Sakura, but he also is quick to jump in hellfire if a solution isn't immediately given to him, and needed help at the end so he wouldn't just use Excalibur and kill himself instead of finding another way. Ilya gave him the other way. In HF True, he is still very much helping people at the drop of a hat, because as soon as he is recovered he is helping Issei with the reconstruction effort. Retards will think he post HF True doesn't care about people and isn't doing anything with his life because he isn't thinking of being an aimless merc post route like the other two routes where, newsflash guys, he ain't "fixed" and has several flaws at the end there too. Saying he is empty and just thinks of Sakura is diminishing things thanks to your own bias. HF True had Sakura sealing the leyline and helping to work to restore damage done to the town. It's quite easy to surmise that Shirou is helping her with that effort, along with helping other people like he says he is doing with Issei. Besides, he also says in Hollow that he was aiming for a civil servants exam, so the guys saying he just will do nothing are just looking for excuses to shit on HF.
So are they just fighting because they like seeing each others moves?
He'll probably find a different path. Look at it from Shirou's viewpoint. From his perspective, he no longer has the right to pursue the path of justice.
It's gonna be funny when people are disappointed by how 90% of the fight is just Shirou getting his shit kicked in.
Totally right man
What does not saving Saber mean? Also where was the detail of his personal life confirmed, I only know he joined the SDF and the guy who betrayed him was probably Shinji.
It means he never convinced Saber to give up on her wish, so she's forever trying to find the grail still.
Why isn't Saber's dragon core generator active in any scenario other than in Fate RN when Rin does a thingy with a CGI dragon to switch it on?
>Unlimited Blade Works BD set II:
>Q: What was the Fifth Grail War that Heroic Spirit Emiya experienced in his lifetime like? Was the Archer summoned there also Emiya?
>Nasu: It was a world where the conditions at the beginning of the war were mostly the same, but something was missing. Shirou summoned Saber and fought until the end, didn't save Saber's heart but understood her, and they destroyed the grail together and parted... that's the image I have.
>Takeuchi: Ahh, so something like a Fate route Good End we didn't make in the game?!
>Nasu: Yeah, probably. After that, it is believed he cooperates with Rin who survived, and heads to London.
Sakura is actually working along with relearning magecraft post route so that she can not wallow in her depression. So its more like Sakura is taking care of her own problems and Shirou is emotional support. Besides, it's not like Rin ever bothers to send flowers to the people who hurt by the Bloodfort, or, and she let this entire contest happen on her land with supposed consent to what would happen and not knowing what magi would show up. For the people who would wonder if someone wants vengeance against Sakura if they knew, would they also want vengeance on Rin as the so called Guardian of Fuyuki who allowed a battle royal in their town and caused the following going down the list:
>students who will need plastic surgery to fix their faces getting melted in the Bloodfort
>men who can never have children because of Caster
>the families of the orphans
>the family at the begining who only has the younger sibling left
Its smoothed over because the Einzbern drop random gold for repairs, but the Tohsaka as Fuyuki's guardians have allowed mass atrocities to happen for decades in the pursuit of the Root. Should then they look to Rin for reparations? It's a silly argument, like trying to say Sakura should pay is silly.
It's basically offline. As a Servant, she needs her Master to jumpstart it with their prana. Ordinarily, this should happen automatically from the moment she's summoned because Servants are constantly being fed prana by their Master, but the botched summoning means that she lacks the initial feed of energy.
>>>students who will need plastic surgery to fix their faces getting melted in the Bloodfort
No one was caught in bloodfort in HF, actually read the route. Rider activated it when only Shirou and Rin were in the school. And in the other routes SHirou checked, and everyone was fucking fine with minor injuries after bloodfort, since Shinji Rider was too weak to use it very much. Even Taiga who was in the epicenter of it healed in less than a week,
>>men who can never have children because of Caster
Why would they know about any of that? As far as they know they just passed out due to a gasleak
>>the families of the orphans
What part of orphans is hard to get
>>the family at the begining who only has the younger sibling left
Unrelated
Is ilya / archer/Shirou as a item in anything confirmed cuz I'm backing it.
It's a mess, there's one that should be good with subs from here.
user we talked about this ...
Isn't he a living mana battery? He can probably maintain at least a portion of the servant, and even so it was still rotting his body with every major usage.
In Sakura's eclipse there's a line about how they won't forget the experiences they've shared even if one of them dies. Point is Shirou won't become a husk.
There are a myriad amount of paths. There is also one that allows him to help people without becoming Batman. Just like how the other Shirous wouldn't immediately drop the ideal if a person used their zealous nature against them to make it so they had to kill children for example, they would take it as a matter of course and move on. So can this Shirou. See people act like the other Shirous are okay because Nasu conveniently skips the details and just goes, "and he achieves the ideal somehow, the end", while with HF Shirou, it remains open ended.
>Fate: Saber
>UBW: Rin
>HF: Sakura
>Archer: Random sluts
>Prisma: Sella and you can't convince me otherwise
>Miyuverse: Angelica, because fuck you
>???: Luvia
Why wasn't it activated in Zero? Kerry didn't botch the summon. Or was it active and just never mentioned?
Yeah, but he can no longer pursue a path related to his ideas of justice. His mentality and internal reasoning wouldn't allow it.
Luvia will never get the Shero
>Miyuverse: Angelica, because fuck you
Hey now, he imagined a wedding ring on Sakura's fingers when musing on running away with her, give her at least a mention bro. Angelica is alright though.
The latter. She had zero mana problems in Zero.
(You): Luvia
Just never mentioned. She never had problems with magical energy even though Kiritsugu is meh in that department.
Sakura's dead.
This is a magical girl story my man, I suspect she will get a new body because Hiroyama will want to do a reverse HF True.
I believe
Nope, Shirou's gonna marry Angelica.
I wish Nasu would write about Shirou and Luvia's globetrotting adventures as a sort of mini-pseudo-route.
What's Saber Alter's whole deal anyway? I get from reading side material explanations that she's basically Saber who realized that her ideal kingdom couldn't be achieved by chivalry and shit so she went full Saddam Hussein. But the basis of her character and the ideal she aims for is still the same and she still has a set of values and principles. Hence I guess why she doesn't just murder the party after killing Herc since that's out of her mission scope.
So with that in mind, why the hell does HF Saber Alter think helping Zouken to murder Illya and then helping Sakura to murder 5 billion people is at all a good idea? In FGO she's not a genocidal maniac, the Shinjuku incarnation takes good care of stray dog and helped to stop Moriarty's asteroid from nuking Shinjuku whereas the Singularity F version doesn't want to play along with Flauros's nonsense and is also a Defender of Humanity.
I wish Nasu did more visual novels
Ah, fair enough, come to think of it she did shoot off Excalibur a number of times without even breaking a sweat.
So when she changed over to being Medea and then Rin's Servant in UBW, it was still borked?
I kept getting this feeling that she knew something we didn't. Never really understood what, though.
HF Saber Alter is a slave of Sakura/angry manjew, she has no real free will of her own unlike FGO Saber Alter.
i'm not sure about Medea, but under Rin it should be active.
>tfw expecting a good plot from an eroge adaptation.
bump
She literally says that she and Sakura have a plan to free themselves even if they die in the process, and that Shirou should stop if he wants to save Sakura. Then we have her saying in the cave that Sakura may not say it aloud on this state, but she wants him to live. It's why I wonder what basis people have to say that she was just controlled and was robotic. See her and Rider's exchange before they fight that pisses Alter off when she snarls about Saber knowing Shirou because she served him at one point too.
How did you like pic related?
afaik in UBW route Archer threatens saber and the gang that he can project excalibur
Gilgamesh refusing to shirou the last minute because a Fire would dirty his clothes
AM is basically a baby beast and beast's love humanity. Look at Tiamat, she thrice debuffed herself even with her reasoning gone because a part of her cared about her "children".
He says in that very scene that he can't reproduce it perfectly.
How could anyone trust Sakura at that point? You don't get possessed by All Evils of the World and expect people to believe you when you say that you can fix everything. You just can't. And the fact that Sakura actually snaps out of it when she stabs Rin proves that she wasn't all there. When someone smiles the way she did as Dark Sakura, and says the things she did, it's entirely forgivable to assume that she's talkimg out her ass. Every single one of us would think the same. I sure as fuck wouldn't trust someone behaving the way she did.
>Gets his leg torn off
>gets butthurt not because his leg is gone but because he thinks the shadow tried to make him kneel
Was Gilgamesh this autistic in the VN or was that movie original
based truthbomb user. miura is a complete fucking shithead and i'm glad his influence in HF has been limited, though he still got to take a big shit on the first movie with that awful nonsensical bout between lancer and assassin that creates a million plot holes compared to the VN's version.
That's movie only. In VN she just swallows him whole in an instant the moment he dropped his guard.
movie original
Why did she help to attack Castle Einzbern and Berserker, then?
Nope, that an anime-original glorious Gil moment
Her plan involved using Illya, which wasn't something Shirou could allow.
In the vn Gil thought Sakura died to his GoB then got killed immediately without realizing what happened
I'm shocked that they didn't try to force some nonsense where Gil nearly overcomes the Shadow easily and he practically gives himself up to it in the end on purpose or some horseshit with all the changes for the sake of Gil cocksuckers ufotable made in UBW.
The shadow is his natural enemy. If he'd been more careful, he might have been able to deal with it, but he wasn't.
How they found a puppet body for shirou
I mean they cut the part where the shadow has to immediately disintegrate gilgamesh for fear of being destroyed from the inside. Also Gilgamesh’s rise in popularity these recent years is insanity
But KnK and Touko's character were written before Fate.
How long have they been fucking?
What? They didn't change anything in UBW aside from showing Gil fighting against Illya's maids.
They completely rewrote this scene to glorify Gil.
No they didn't.
Based Gilbros at ufotable
To be fair it makes sense. A servant won't die from just getting their arm cut off and a single slash.
The only difference at all is that Angry Manju took a few more seconds to try and find a new host.
Haven't played it yet
The light coming from the lake eliminates the hill of swords.
A great magical energy has smashed away the already-disappearing Reality Marble.
That's fine.
The match is settled.
I can beat this Servant by slashing him with my twin swords.
But after the Reality Marble is blown away…
A black void.
A void big enoguh to swallow a human being.
It appears before me-----right on Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh used a reality warping NP to change the scene and trigger VN readers
So was he summoned because Rin botched the summoning, because she used the Amulet, or because The World wanted Archer to stop the grail? If the last had literally anything to do with it, why not just summon him as a counter-guardian so he could viably do what OP suggests with his infinite mana?
It was the Amulet. It acted as the perfect catalyst.
What plan was that?
Even if Rin didn't use her pendant, she would've still summoned him because he has the pendant.
Yeah. It took longer.
>They better not gut this fight for boring Rider vs Saber shit.
Kirei vs Shirou fight is the worst and has barely any bearing to the plot
And then there's this faggot
This doesn't happen in the VN though. That's just from some Nasu interview.
>The only difference at all
Ufotable version has the reality marble dissipate because Shirou ran out of mana, and he's collapsed over unable to continue fighting. Gil mocks him and is about to kill him, but Shirou gets his ass saved by what appears to be an asspull in the void appearing, which glorifies Gil.
In the VN, Excalibur breaks the reality marble, but it doesn't matter because Shirou is about to end Gilgamesh anyways as the match was already decided and he's able to continue. Then GIL gets one last shot by way of the void appearing on him and attempting to pull Shirou in.
It changes everything about the narrative circumstances of the scene as well as the state of if Shirou could beat Gil.
I mean you're not wrong but Shirou beating Gil was always kind of bullshit so I understand why Nasu wanted him to look a bit better. Especially with how he wanked him in CCC and FGO which mades him losing against Shirou even more bullshit.
faggot
As a Sakurafag, I honestly don't mind Rin not believing Sakura and heading into the cave. It's one of the few things where I more or less fully agree with Rin on during the latter half of HF.
Who gives a shit about VN fans? Nasu's writing is absolutely fucking atrocious. The amount of filler and exposition in the Fate VNs is honestly fucking laughable.
Fate Zero/UBW and the Heaven's Feels movies are the first time this franchise has had anything approaching good writing.
Actually, could Gil Ea the shadow or is it just impossible for a servant to win against it?
>Fate Zero/
Shut up secondary
>could Gil Ea the shadow or is it just impossible for a servant to win against it?
The Shadow will probably just swallow the attack
It's not immortal and Gil has NPs that nullify regeneration.
>Secondary
I know I have good taste thanks for reminding me
>Nasu should do more visual novels
>lol, it's not like I'm reading them
>streamable.com
Did you like it?
>why is king arthur strong when powerlevels are based on popular legend

>It provides the three effects of resurrection, attack-nullification, and the ability of "immunity against an attack he has experienced previously."
>Q: Is Berserker's "immunity against an attack he has experience before" an ability of his Noble Phantasm, or is it due to his ability to see through the attack?
>A: The answer is that, it is a result of both the resilience of his body, as well as his techniques. God Hand has the ability to make Berserker's body immune against an attack after it has been damaged once by the said attack.
>Nasu: You don't have to die. For example... if you were to take fire damage, once you recover you would gain +100 resistance to fire.
