So this is it

So this is it.
Overlord dies in the west not with a bang but a whimper from its author.

I stopped watching Overlord like halfway through season 2, does it just keep getting worse and worse???

You should have never seen the anime to beging with.

What killed the hype?

The author, as usual
>Bitchfit about fan translations
>Threatens to cut the series down to one volume because of it
>Shows no interest in writing anymore

Author getting butthurt about translations, using it as an excuse not to write more content because he is out of ideas and doesn't know what to do.

Shame, I'll miss the threads

that sucks, still thx nigel for all these years.

the bonus book, it shows that the author has lost his interest in this series and just wants to end it.

wut? people gave a shit about that? i'm pretty sure he has whined about lots of things before in regard to his writing

It's not what people gave a shit about, it's what the author projects to the fanbase, he simply doesn't care anymore.

dont we get official translations now anyways though? just buy the books lol

I would say that the official translations take too long but for all we know there might be no more new books.

>anime started over 4 years ago
you couldve just learned japanese in that time

Good. Fuck your manga, I'll be busy watching the anime as God intended.

>even the translator can't stand Overbored anymore
oh no no no overbros

Attached: 1556018858126.jpg (607x608, 147K)

You stopped at a good point, the first season was the best and every further one gets increasingly worse.
The LN isn't any better either despite people claiming otherwise. Only stuck with it because I suffer from a terrible case of perpetual sunken costs and have to finish everything I start.

>using it as an excuse not to write more content because he is out of ideas and doesn't know what to do
anybody who read past the first 3-5 volumes saw this coming from a mile away
after that he just kept starting subplots and plot threads without an indication the previous ones will ever be resolved
>will he find another player? what about other world items? who the fuck knows, we got a bit of half assed foreshadowing that would take another 7 volumes to resolve judging by the pace
>unification of the continent? and then what? in the first place why? just to follow up on the stupid "my followers misunderstand me" gag?
not writing without planning the ending ahead is like a plague for LN/isekai authors, at least Spider and Slime kinda pulled it off in the end and Arifureta despite being trash just followed through with the logical premise that was established in the very beginning - get harem, kill god, go home and in process style on your bully classmates
and it's not like it's impossible to both write with a hint of some sort of a conclusion in mind while stuffing it full of fluff and pointless story arcs, Death Mage manages to pull it off

yes, unfortunately.

>Madhouse dropped One Punch Man to focus on this shit
Truly the worst timeline.

I'd say it's a problem most particular to web novelists. They enter the industry as amateurs where the way to get yourself known is just throwing ideas at the wall until one sticks. Since they don't even know if it will go anywhere, they don't plan. They don't have much in the way of training or education on the subject of writing, many start as high school students.
So with millions of monkeys on typewriters, somehow popular web novels emerge. And then they are thrown into the world of publishing with only an editor to try to guide them. Some manage, some don't. But it's not surprising that a lot have no plans and just wander aimlessly.

>watching the anime
Just why..?

>wut? people gave a shit about that? i'm pretty sure he has whined about lots of things before in regard to his writing
I think author got triggered by that Evileye side-story? Wasn't that a limited edition kind of thing or something?
I saw people selling physical copies of that for a few thousand of Ameribucks.

>focus
They phoned in a cash grab, seems good for them. Also OPM S1 was a very special project with lots of talent pulled in that was likely busy during the projected schedule for S2. It involved lots of passionate animators going above and beyond their pay level (and sane overtime levels) to create something great. It wasn't likely going to be repeated no matter what studio did it.

The usual with people misinterpreting what the author says.
>bitchfit about fan TL
He didn't bitchfit about fan translations, as he knew those had been going for years and didn't care about them. He bitched about translating the evileye side story since he didn't want that.
>Threatens to cut the series
He's lost motivation for Overlord a while back. His tweet after mentioned he was angry and probably wouldn't cut it but hey gotta cause maximum drama and cut that right?
>shows no interest in writing
Also untrue. He shows no interest in writing for Overlord, though.

>He bitched about translating the evileye side story since he didn't want that.
...
Why?

>implying madhouse would have done it any better
Haha. Funny joke. Reminder: studios don't produce anime. Animators, directors and etc do. OPM S1 had a stacked cast, studio doesn't matter.

Overlord? More like Over

This shitty series hasn't been relevant for years, it was kind of fresh when the Isekai tsunami was just ramping up but now it's merely the most bland tripe.

Too bad the author's a bitch, haven't seen an isekai quiet like it, at least not as popular as this one

Limited edition, costs a lot of money.

I stopped reading the manga a while ago, and whenever I take a glimpse at a new chapter they are still stuck with that political intrige bullshit.

>He bitched about translating the evileye side story since he didn't want that.
So he bitched about fan translations

you have to buy all blu-rays of season 3 anime, just to get the right of buying it. so technically you would payed over $100 for one shit book.

1/3rd of me reading the light novel is skipping all the NPC development. i really don't want to read about cline and the sissy bitch boy that gets molested by the princess

Nooooo, please don't leave us Nigel-sama ;_;

One shit book that is not even canon and took time/resources from the main books.
>He shows no interest in writing for Overlord, though.
Ah yes, how could I forget his meme idea of a wrestling high school.
What the author needs is just go back to wageslaving since he seems to like it so much over writing Overlord.

>He bitched about translating the evileye side story since he didn't want that.
That's quite talmudic of him. Collectors will pay for the physical version, just let the fans access the content instead of locking it behind a shekel wall.

>One shit book that is not even canon and took time/resources from the main books.
And look at it now.

Attached: 1557559457117.jpg (738x2101, 607K)

that's the most expensive toilet paper i've ever seen

What the fuck.
Fuck this nigger.

>you have to buy all blu-rays of season 3 anime
That costs more than just money, buying all of that shit season costs a part of your soul.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>120000 Yen = $1138,56
who the fuck is so stupid to pay for this?

I give it a 75% chance of the publisher selling the book normally as a different edition somewhen in the future.

Jesus Christ this is fucking sad.
Has it really become that apparent that the author doesn't care much for Overlord anymore?

I haven't read the volumes beyond 11 but seeing this and thinking about Overlord maybe not even having an ending at all, just makes me think of all the time i have sunk into shitposting about this series with you guys.
Nigel must be feeling even worse about it.

Attached: 1540304937300.png (747x574, 475K)

mob did it

>generic isekai trash n°446003
I sleep

Eat shit fucking waifu fags.
That's all it had going for it and that isn't enough to keep anything afloat.
You might as well have been reading ecchi garbage.
You don't want a real story, you just want shit and you're the cancer killing everything everywhere.
You all need to fucking die.

Is that nigel? I know how he feels. I dropped the latest side story half way and i don't plan on continuing to read the main ln either, didn't help that the last few volumes sucked and the author obviously isn't invested anymore either. He's pretty much just looking for reasons to stall cause he doesn't feel like writing anymore.

I feel exactly the same way. Thank you Nigel for your service. It was fun while it lasted.

Calm down, woman.

Attached: IMG_20190825_085713_098.jpg (607x612, 71K)

Are you being vague and generalizing on purpose or are you just too stupid to come up with good insults?

It's never fun for me.

Completely different staff made those series, retard

Because Bones is competent enough to not get bancrupt like Madhouse.

I'll miss reading it with you guys,
thanks Nigel-sama. it was fun while it lasted right guys.... right?

Well, that's too bad. Best wishes to Nigel regardless.

Including the side-story, official translations are only 3 volumes behind at this point.

Drama queen, when the new vol drops, he'll be back fast since the money from chink land will be rolling in.
Chinks make tens of thousands on each overlord vol from sheer donations, that's why jap police crack down on illegal translations.
This time it pissed off Yea Forums who are pirates, he paywalled the thing 4 times, almost $200 to get it then he threatens to cut off the series to 16 volumes.

>Drama queen
He just said he dropped the series.

are we going to be forced into reading filthy fanfics to get closure on this thing.. I think the main story has been written into a corner.

fucking should have seen it coming with that fucking lizard arc... dude is running on fumes. I will miss Nigel's translation for victim.

Because he's a faggot.

That quote is unrelated to the series' popularity in Japan but I'm gonna hope that they drop Overlord and give us season 2 of Boogiepop anyway. Especially since the author apparently stopped giving a shit too

Maou-sama is better anyway :3

Lord.

>shitty author
>shitty story
>shitty characters
The only good thing was world building and the introduction, but that gets sidelined and the focus is on one of the guardians comong up with some retarded shit and ainz going with it because he paranoid about people who literally believe him to be god might dislike him.

Neia should have stayed dead.

I don't understand how this trash got so popular in the first place.

Most actual fans (not the same people just reading it in groups for fun on Yea Forums) I have seen were edgy kids that found their first harem and the protag was a big skeleton who is nihilistic and smarter than everyone else just like they think they are in real life.

...?
Nigel still translates to this day. Even the EvileyexAinz spinoff set 200 years before. His latest post was today. We are just waiting on volume 15

>His latest post was today.
How fast have you read it?

Attached: RIP nigel.png (750x1040, 408K)

Oh. I just read his new post. What the fuck i just caught up. What are the chances

It combined many things that were in fashion, was already popular in japan and avoided the worst pitfalls like a young, bland MC.

Oh no, not Overlord! Not Overlord!

The overlord (game) was pretty good.

Maybe in another 20 years

I see you even decided to use one of the sakuga clips from Overlord S3!

I’d wait another 20 years

Memes aside when the fuck is the next volume coming out?

Why do authors throw a tantrum about english translations but not for other languages?

So yeah, about that source.

Because no other language matters.

What if instead of an isekai Satoru went to the NW and Ainz Ooal Gown went to earth?

No prob, got you bro
lmgtfy.com/?q=overlord novel translations volume 10 quitting I'm a retarded secondary

A lot of these web/light novelists tend to be very right-wing or at the very least very nationalistic.

Otaku's aren't known for their quality buying.

What would you do if you were Maruyama?

Attached: maruyama.jpg (600x600, 66K)

You buy the slightly cheaper ones and sell them on for a slightly higher prices and pocket the difference. That's how these prices get so high.

God bless you, Nigel-sama!
Thank you for your work, and good luck to you and your future endeavors!

Attached: 1394169205739.jpg (1413x801, 740K)

Maybe he'll translate something good next time.

Is Maruyama a "good" writer?

no

he's not even a good bad writer

Ovl is one of the best sold LNs in japan for consecutive years

unironically cash out and sell the IP entirely

Drop that shit after first episode.

>sell the IP entirely
Wasnt he gonna make it a public utility?

It had potential but the author never did anything interesting

So this means no more new English Overlord until at least January 2021.

>The reason Nigel quit is to become Maruyama's ghostwriter
>Overlord goes back to becoming a web novel with weekly updates instead of physical yearly releases but you have to pay a subscription or buy Carlo Zens novels
>Albedo's character suddenly disappears without any mention they just say it was an unfortunate "incident" and shrug it off

Attached: 0c32d301afcfaaecc8c8f193f06640275082ac439c20b426783747093fed309e.png (246x246, 85K)

Depends, YP might skip the side story and could do 14 provided Maruyama finishes it by early 2020.

>forces you to buy good books to read Overlord
Sounds like a good deal.

>good books
But they aren't fun.. unlike Overlord, I'd rather read a war almanac or engels

So?
We all know Japan has shit taste. There's tons of trash novels that are popular.

Carloz is a bigger hack, e loves to see the mc lose and a bad ending where everything he wrote doesn't even matter.
>tanya goes to america and lets the reich die, the end

If your good writer were good it would sell, OL is the best written novel right now.

>he thinks it will have the same ending as the WN
I kind of doubt he'll bring in Aliens.

Despite what the fanbase said, an entire series about nothing but the main characters winning and nothing else with barely any development will eventually get stale

At least art in the ED was straight fire as usual.
Probably the only truly amazing thing about the anime adaptation is art in EDs.

They are the wegs of japanese fiction

to be fair, the later volumes have been shit
jircniv was fun, but after that it's just a whole load of nothing

I dont get what was the point of that much worldbuilding in a series with zero stakes

Overpowered MCs can be great if everything else is fleshed out, SPLAT was fun because of all the build up to it. There may be zero stakes for Ainz, but not for everyone else.

So, who's going to translate Overlord now?

me

Ahahahahahahaha
AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Maruyama played/plays a lot of DnD. He's very passionate about worldbuilding from his TTRPG playing days, but he's not talented enough as a writer to do much with it.

Yen Press

BASED

Daily reminder that when you purchase Yen Presses release this trannys words will be what you're reading.

Attached: pay for my shitty TRANSlation thats release 5 years late.png (601x436, 47K)

You

Maruyama brought it on himself, writing a sidestory for over a year that only a fraction of his fanbase would see or read.
Still, it's a sad day. I can only hope other translators take over.

Fuck you even though I chuckled.
It was building up to actual threats but the author pussied out because he’s scared to hurt nazarick.
Just end the series and put me out of my misery.

No one. Jap sellers are even dumber than ebay sellers. You should look at how inflated figs get even though they'll literally sit on japanese scalper sites for years without budging. The only time japan was good at business was when they tried to illegally dump goods in the west, once they got caught and punished their GDP became a flat line

I recall reading early translations of volume 10 and it was brutal. Just no concept of English or proper grammar.
Probably in for the same shit now as scrubs take over.

Then learn Japanese or buy the official translation you fucking barnacle on society.

I am buying the official releases, which are still of dubious quality.

18+

The fuck is your problem, bitch?

I agree with her, fan translators should be "taught a fucking lesson" for creating the audience which allows her to hold a job.

Overlord is dead but my boner for Clementine will live forever.

Attached: clem_waka.jpg (635x903, 101K)

Overlord was never good. The author's editor was BASED for telling the author to create Albedo.

Otherwise everyone would have ignored this trash.

The webnovel just depended on Shalltear but flat chests don't attract readers anymore.

The Virgin overlord vs the Chad _____

I've wanked to Clementine before but I felt bad about it in an Oedipal kind of way because my mum is a blonde with light brown eyes and she wore her hair like that all my childhood.

>slime author says it's fine if people TL his stuff and pirate it overseas, only providing his mandatory comment about how they just need to buy the official LNs because otherwise he'd get fired by his publisher
>slime literally sells like hotcakes, makes his author a millionare
>maruyama has an autistic fit about fan TLs
>his entire series comes TUMBLING DOWN
Based reality correcting retards. Maruyama is going to be wageslaving in that office while Fuse fucks hot japanese idols in his golden mansion

give your mom a hug

As someone who played mmos more than fifteen years ago and ttrpg, I really emphasized with Ainz's felling of loss in the beginning.
Unfortunately it became obvious that Maruyama doesn't know where to take his story, and that he's bad at buying time. And also a fucking jew, judging by the limited edition comments.

>Konosuba last volume soon
>Youjo Senki is dead
>Overlord translations stopped, author doesn't give a shit anymore
>Re:Zero is still alive and well

>Youjo Senki is dead
The movie came out

Re:Zero author did one thing right. He made the main girl his waifu. Re:Zero will continue on by the power of waifuism

Movie is irrelevant to the fact that Carlo Zen has moved on to a new series.

Maruyama's original main girl was Shalltear until Editor-san forced him to add Albedo.

Maybe this is the root of his frustration?

Attached: 70024311_p0.jpg (800x1068, 689K)

Unlikely. Editor-sans usually just force authors to add a middle-manager subordinate character. Nobody forced him to make her fall in love with Ainz right away, he could have easily done the opposite.

Attached: 1552865009818.jpg (675x900, 169K)

>Editor-sans usually just force authors to add a middle-manager subordinate character.
Why that in particular?

haha i love nigel sama sense of humor

Non-iseaki fantasy protagonist

Attached: B3.jpg (1900x1364, 1.59M)

Sergeant/lieutenant type characters are a requirement military literature. I can't explain it fully, but you want to have someone who is there to act as a wall for the main character's decision making and orders to bounce off of. Yes, Demiurge exists, but there's one other requirement for based Editor-sans: this middle manager character must be a waifu.

You can easily not believe me, but why else would Visha be added as well? Obviously there must be some checklist these editor-sans have, and one of those requirements is a waifu subordinate that can actually argue with her superior and possibly win.

indeed. proving there was market potential where licensors said there was no market was a mistake.

>LGBT flags
EVERY TIME

>middle-manager subordinate character
But Shalltear already did a lot of that in the WN

I'm a literal transsexual and I have no idea why people do this shit. If you see trans flag in their profile they're guaranteed to be fucking annoying.

Attached: 1560707721170.png (1301x734, 1.38M)

I wouldn't call her middle-manager though. She doesn't manage anything except her floor, Shalltear is the number two of the whole dungeon.

It's basically a 'profit from what others created' parasite symbol.

Do it, I wanna see either Louie or Sinbad as the Chad

It was garbage

Thanks Nigel for all the work you've done so far

Could be worse.

Yen Press is going to catch up to the main releases next year anyway, not a major loss.

I do wonder if Yen Press are planning some big licenses or something though. They're going to catch up on 10 series series in 2020.
>Overlord
>Sword Art Online
>Accel World
>So I'm A Spider, So What?
>Goblin Slayer
>Durarara
>Konosuba Megumin spinoff
>A Certain Magical Index
>No Game, No Life
>The Empty Box And Zeroth Maria

It is a big deal since with Nigel we'd get stuff within days whereas with YP even once they catch up we'll likely have a ~six month lag.

Yen Press translations are shit.

It's not a REAL 'translator suddenly quitting' incident unless they delete everything without warning.

At least that got an ending.

...should we tell him?

No, there's still plenty more arcs to go; with Tanya being paperclipped by the USA and becoming a mercenary, and not to mention there's the central conflict of Tanya vs Being X to resolve in some capacity.

Mushoku Tensei has a great ending.

Completed Rudeus's story and leaves it open for a sequel with other characters.

jap fantasy and YA stuff is atrocious, being the best sold LN means shit
also a lot of LN success boils down to illustrations, they themselves make a lot of fun about it, and marketing

>Series ends with Satoru sacrificing his Lichdom and becoming a puny human
It would be a good lesson for Nazarick even better if they start questioning his lesdership

Why won't Maruyama release a new volume?

At least we have the first three episodes of season five and the glorious shit show pic related caused

Attached: 1494127565841.png (591x359, 211K)

Because FAN TRANSLATORS. You know. The people that buy the official translations because they like the series.

Is this the real reason or just a meme?

It's the real reason, and it's as pathetic as it seems.

Because somebody has to force the plot along. God forbid if the MC isn't a beta bastard that must have his subordinates remind him to keep breathing, that would just be bad writing. If you dont write a manager subordinate you are a hack

Attached: Mona.png (750x1334, 1.87M)

only if you consider that to be the end
The author wanted to continue the story but it became so shit it just ended with a fart,

wasnt even that bad, the fanbase is just shit

overlord? more like overbored.

In Japan? The endgame, looks like. The shadowy villains are now operating openly and brazenly, at least one Legion has disbanded, hints are coming out about who created Brain Burst and why, and Kuroyukihime is learning unsettling things about her family. Meanwhile, Kawahara is also returning to SAO to write a sequel arc where one of the characters is a scientist who's blatantly Kuroyukihime's mother.

People are giving it good odds that the final boss of AW will be Haru symbolically killing an evil AI version of Kirito, representing how Kawahara doesn't want to be remembered as the creator of SAO when he considers it his first and shittiest work.

Attached: SAO: Unital Ring.jpg (722x1024, 98K)

He got very close to impregnating his editor and prefered to jump boat before its too late, now they only meet in cheap candy stores.

Never forget.

Attached: r2Ap32N.png (1616x885, 379K)

I'm sure that once Overlord "ends" another Jap will decide he needs to fill the gap left behind and create another world just as blatantly overpowered as Ainz and friends were.

So did Nigel get a job that involves professional translations or was he threatened with legal action? I seriously doubt that people would just drop something they've been doing for years without a good reason for it.

So when are these plot points going to get addressed?

- Renner and Climb's race change
- the orb of death in Hamsuke's mouth
- the disappearance of Clem and Khajit's bodies
- Albedo's betrayal
- Rubedo causing Nazarick's downfall
- what happened to the dwarven forgemaster who ran away with Ainz's ingot?
- Platinum Dragon Lord and Rigrit
- Slane Theocracy and God Kin
- Elf King

I seriously doubt that's the reason why. The most likely answer is that they've been told by their publisher or whoever that english fan translations are eating into their revenue which means that the authors would get less money from the imaginary lost sales that the free advertisements give them. Japs have this weird thing where internet piracy is considered the most heinous thing in the world

In between volumes and mentioned / referenced in passing as things that already happend like the undead pirate ship.

*Thieving gaijin have this weird thing where they think piracy is acceptable

Clem already her her gag PPP episodes.
Renner, climb, EE, blue rose will be addressed when albedo takes over the kingdom.
ST, elf king, ZZ and godkins will be dealt with in a vol.
PDL dies in the epilogue or forms an alliance with ainz.

Whatever calms your atrophied conscience, scum

>no argument

Internet piracy isn't a good or bad thing, it's just another form of free advertisement that most people seem to be against because the talking heads on TV told them that it was bad

Why are you such a bootlicker?

The lizard thing is shit, it's the worst part of the entire anime. Then the rest of S2 is good and so is S3. The LN is probably shit, like all LN's

>Internet piracy isn't a good or bad thing
You're wilfully going against the explicitly stated wishes of the IP owner.

Overlord wouldn't even have gotten a s2 or 3 without us.
If anything we deserve atleast 2 million dollars for advertising this series here.

The concept of IP is bullshit.

Fuck what happened? I started this recently and really like it so far.

So? I wouldn't have bought the official translations of Overlord if it wasn't for the fact that I found the fan translations first. I don't give a fuck what some Japanese fat slob thinks, or anyone else for that matter. That's like saying anime fans should only buy the official blueray releases if they want to watch a show.
It ends in a shitshow basically

I haven't been keeping up with this, what happened to overlord?

youtu.be/gnA-_5xx_a4

>Fanfiction
Doesn't change the fact the original has a shit ending.

The problem for why most isekai end in shit is because they were wishfulfillment to begin with and many WNs they are based on were even done by teens or young adults with barely any experience and they were simply written for the writer to "live" as their selfinsert in some world they like they weren't meant to end so they have no fucking idea about how stories work or how to end it.
You cannot make a good story without knowing the end and the goal and what you want to do with it.

Nothing. None of this will ever happen. Maruyama is a hack.

The first 3 episodes of the revived last season are unbelievably kino, peak of western TV animation. Then it goes downhill very very hard.

You're still good for the original series' seasons though

>he didn’t bitch about fan translations
>he bitched about fan translations cutting into some stupid pay pig scam
sounds even worse

He lost faith on Overlord after the third season and the evileye gaiden fiasco

Well, good on him for quitting when he realized that he lost interest at least. And to be honest I think a lot of people lost interest in Overlord when S3 dropped all pretenses of trying to be any good. Hopefully, he finds another passion project to bide his time with
Maruyama went to twitter and threatened to cut the series short and was all melodramatic about it. Most people here just called him a little bitch and moved on with their lives

Animation is absolutely crap but every episode has me grinning from start to end. It feels like everyone's having a blast while producing the anime even with the piss-poor budget.

Too much worldbuilding on irrelevant characters. I'd read batman for batman himself, not a fucking nobody trying his absolute hardest just to fail.
I skip all parts not related to nazarick but then it still got boring really fast.

>Overbored
Good riddance. I don't really get how this series became so popular. Sure, the first few volumes were interesting because it's rare to find a story that focuses on the bad guy, but after that, it became stale really quickly. There are no stakes and the characters act like retards, constantly wanking Ainz. Ainz goes to take a shit? SASUGA AINZ SAMA.

I'm glad even the translator gave up on this piece of garbage.

You should give up on life, poor taste fag.

So it's either waiting for official translations to catch up for several years or have those reddit fags who translated parts of v12 to appear again.

So what is Nigel going to TL now?

What's the big deal?
Official translations almost caught up.

Even those guys were just skimming off baidu TLs.

My take: Maruyama is an average dumb guy who never put very much thought into the whole thing. He wrote Overlord as a way to vent about his sadness of losing his DnD and MMO friends. That's it, that was the entire point of the story. That part in the beginning where Ainz was sad about his guildmates? That's as much depth and meaning as it was ever intended to have.

See an active thinker or a good author would try to expand on that theme. Ainz is longing for the past. Where we can we take the story from here? Will he learn to let go? Will he become more and more obsessed with it? Does the past even really matter at all? Instead of exploring the main theme Maruyama went on completely pointless tangents and world-building, pretending he's goddamn Tolkien. He was clearly buying time since the entire story was a hollow shell: there was never anything there. He had no idea where Ainz was going or what the point of it all was. It was above his skill level all along and he merely faked it, just like Ainz did in the story.

Hell, maybe that's the real theme. Maruyama (Ainz) is a dumb office worker who lucked into power and influence beyond his means and is now seen as some sort of demigod due to his massive success. Yet in reality he fumbles along and is scared of making a mistake and having it all crash down. If we go by that route then the next volume should end the series by Ainz losing his willpower and pityingly giving up and everybody figuring out he was a fraud, ruining his legacy and turning Nazarik against him. That would unironically be a poetic a ending, but he's probably too dumb to even think of that.

How hard are you right now?

Yeah, your take is pretty accurate.
Maruyama decided to trade character study for world building.
Although, thematically, the ending probably won't take that route, as this is going through the cliche of "falling forward". He might have character decline instead of development, but the story would actually go forward that way.
Instead of becoming a good ruler, he'll be a terrible one, henceforth the story will reward him for it.

Fuck off with your fanfic bullshit. Ainz's rule is successful.

If youve read the wn and compared it to the ln you can see the editor really saves it. Fuckin ainz goes to a magic school as a student.

Yeah, he is successful.
His success came from his failures and luck, not his competence.

Most success comes from luck, competence has little to do with it.

What failures? Ainz is pretty competent.

That's irrelevant. The fact is he has been a successful ruler, and that's all that matters.

The premise seems exactly like Overlord, except he doesn't have an army of broken NPCs with him

Plot of volume 14:

Ainz learns that the the dwarf who stole the ingot from him is making his own runecraft copying his workshop. This makes him go ballistic and REEEEE to no end. All of Nazarik comes together to calm him down, when he makes the surprise announcement he's stepping down as the Sorcerer King. The guardians are all bewildered, wondering if it's another ruse or part of a big plan. When questioned he adds he's also stepping down as the supreme ruler of Nazarik and is going to retire to work as an office worker for the kingdom. The guardians realize he isn't joking and that it's really all over. Their whole ordeal is coming to an end out of nowhere and seemingly for no reason. Despair overwhelms Nazarik, and each NPC deals with it their own way. Demiurge loses faith and retires as well, losing all trust and passion he had in the ruler. Albedo stays behind trying to keep together the scraps of the kingdom together, yet her efforts are in vain. To the very end she's sure Ainz will come back and fix everything, yet deep down she knows it is over. Slowly the sorcerous kingdom is plunged into decadence, weakness, and is torn apart by its neighbors. The world is returning to its previous state, as the centuries go by the name of Ainz Ool Gown fades into myth and obscurity. The final scene features the retired Ainz sitting in his office chair thinking to himself. "Umu, I'm bored. Maybe I should start a high school wrestling club?" THE END.

How wet are you?

Calm down there Maruyama.

>Ainz learns that the the dwarf who stole the ingot from him is making his own runecraft copying his workshop.
He also tells all of his runecraft customers that it's that one dwarfs fault, there will be no more runecraft weapons.

Understandable.
Well, that's it, then.
It's a shame, TL threads were nice.

Shouldnt the author's editor be pushing him to wrap up the series if he doesnt want to continue? Instead of letting it sit in limbo?

Japanese editors seem to be huge push overs in general, they just let the authors write whatever with no quality control at all, this rarely happens in the west.

I doubt Maruyama would be able to pull the same shit with a western publisher, actually, theres a pretty good chance he would never have gotten published at all.

Nah, it won't die. Some shadow writer will take his place. It won't be the same though

>The only time japan was good at business
Taiichi Ohno
Thanks, Nigel. It's a high time I learn Jap, anyway

think your confusing ln editors with real editors

>Some shadow writer will take his place. It won't be the same though
you mean its going to be better, right?

He stole the plot from TTGL and made it seem like he was doing something original, he said he always wondered how to end Samurai jack and had been thinking about it for years but it ends up just being a huge ripoff of TTGL

They are both editors. Unless LN editors arent allowed to do anything in Japan.

LN doesn't automatically mean "shitty writing" anyway.

It's so strange how japan's publishing industry and the west are literally world's apart.

I walked into a western bookstore earlier and spent some time browsing the fiction section.

No ridiculously long titles that are summaries. Most of the books had decently written synopsis, except for a few where the space was used for reviewer comments instead. No synopsis with cringey sentences like "this is the story of such a boy" or "now he will live his life as he likes". Not a single series where the MC had OP powers or obtained a harem. Characters behaved like real people, instead of stalker robots that just chased the MC around. No villains that just kick puppies for fun.

Walk into a japanese bookstore, and they have shelves of nothing but "OP MC gets a harem" and "hurr otome game villainess where the MC gets everything handed to her on a silver platter with bland characters".

I haven't even finished S3 despite reading the LN a number of times.
>actual fans
>not the same people just reading it in groups for fun on Yea Forums)
What's the distinction?

Not him, but he is right. Trying to argue anything while assuming the thing which isn't true is a definition of insanity.
You can prove absolutely *anything* that way.
And the proper term is "copyright infringement".

Overlord has been dead for like a fucking year now

Context is important. Any vocabulary worth its salt contains widely used slang like piracy.
Doesn't mean it has a place in a serious discussion.

>i-it can’t be used in a serious discussion because I say so!!!
You're pathetic, ESL-kun.

It’s not slang. Stop lying just because you got caught being retarded.

>serious discussion because I say so!!
Because the only reason to use a term with two meanings instead of an unambiguous one is to derail the conversation.
Which you're trying to do right now.
Figures.
Show me a law which features the word "piracy" when it comes to copyright infringement and I will agree.
Actually, I'm a bit intrigued: I know for sure that it isn't present in any law in my country, but maybe it's not the case in yours.
I will wait.

>Because the only reason to use a term with two meanings instead of an unambiguous one is to derail the conversation.
You are genuinely retarded, my dude. Do you have any idea how many words there are in the English language that have more than one meaning? If you think the only reason people use those words is to derail conversations, you need to jump off a cliff ASAP because you’re wasting precious oxygen. You’re the one who derailed this conversation by acting like some grammar authority when you’re the one in the wrong. There is no ambiguity here, everyone understood what the word piracy meant in this context, except for you. That’s your problem, not mine. Stop trying to rewrite the English language, ESL-kun.

>Show me a law which features the word "piracy" when it comes to copyright infringement and I will agree.

Piracy as a term is commonly used even by mainstream media, you can't possibly be this retarded. It's not a new invention either, but has been used in reference to stealing copyrighted material for at least a hundred years.

Attached: Copyrightpirates.jpg (640x804, 103K)

>legal documents decide how language works
What kind of retarded argument is this?

>fulfill this weird, arbitrary requirement that has nothing to do with what we’re talking about or else you’re wrong

Learn English, ESL-kun.

>you think the only reason people use those words is to derail conversations
I never said or implied that it's the *only* reason why people use these words.
Copyright infringement as a concept is inseparable from the law. No government and no law mean no copyright infringement.
Normally I would agree, but I don't believe that the conversation partner is arguing in good faith, so I will be anal about the definitions.
Acknowledging that copyright infringement is piracy is one step away from acknowledging that it's theft, which is insane.
>us_government_advertising.jpg
Is that supposed to be a joke? And if you consider wiki to be a credible source, then from the same page

using 'piracy' to refer to 'copyright infringement' is not language, but propaganda
stallman.org/articles/end-war-on-sharing.html

It doesn't matter what the reason is, the fact is piracy is used to refer to copyright infringement, whether you like it or not. That is language. It doesn't care about your feelings on the matter.

Good. The series got worse with every novel. It was clear the author had no idea what he was doing.

And you should praise gods for that. Look at what they did with my boy...

well then make it in english and sell it. Don't complain about free translations if you are not going to provide. It isn't piracy if there is no legitimate way to purchase the item.

How would Albedo feel about having Satoru's half human spawn? given she hates humans

Good riddance. Series started off interesting but turned a complete wankfest with zero stakes for Ainz and his asslickers. The contrast between Mayamura and the author of Slime Isekai and how both their personalities are apparent in their writing is pretty hilarious.

it not like volume 14 was ever going to surface anyway.

we got some shitty fucking what if instead.

Translators rarely get appreciation anyway. If the series is actually good, someone would take the helm.

He already has it outlined, it's the training dungeon that ainz is making for adventurers.
It's going to feature some new guy who fights dirty and will become a new hero, little nazarick, lots of skills and lv up systems explained.

Because the main character is aware enough to realize he's in a bad story and it's comedy with fanservice.

I thought that audiobooks are canon.

I only recently realized this but when Pandora's Actor is posing as Ainz to test Sebas in volume 6, Sebas has in fact never met PA and only heard of him in rumors (as he mentioned to Shalltear at the start of v3). No wonder he didn't suspect a thing.

missed that thread, also that would go against the point of being a lurker.
something something comic about no more internet "see you space cowboy"

We don't know everything that happens behind the scenes, the comics reveal that the guardians and other NPCs support each other emotionally.
>Shalltear starts helping Mare with his hormones once he reaches adolescence
What does she do?

Mare will just fuck his elf slave maids. Shalltear better stay away unless she wants to be mercilessly pounded too.

Eh, it's year after year and I can sort of tell when some people are posting. Could've been a memorable occasion.
It's especially easy to spot Clancy-kun. Little to no grammar mistakes and overall quality of posts is suddenly through the roof. It's a shame he isn't posting anymore.

But then that raises the enteral question...
Elf slave, wat do?

so you recognise my posting type also?

No. I'm not really good at forensics. I just can see patterns from time to time.

I used to love this series because it felt like it had so much potential, i was exited to see the things it could be.

The second half of the season was about equal to any given episode of the original seasons. It just sucked that they came after how great the first half of the season was.

Also the last episode was a bit of a mess, 30 more minutes would have gone a long way.

Out of all the garbage isekai to come out, Overlord is the one with an appeal I understand the least. Good riddance to bad rubbish

Fun things are fun.

I have no idea why anyone kept reading when the author repeatedly admitted he didnt give a shit anymore.

He only admitted it recently and we've all been up to date by then.

>Demon lord
>Does nothing evil
The same thing is applied to Ainz.

Yes.
It has the main problem that all Isekai LNs with an overpowered MC have.
There's nothing that can ever be a credible threat to Ainz and the longer the story goes on the more and more true that becomes.
This inevitably leads to boring storylines about things that we don't really care about because there is no stakes when your main character and his buddies are effectively omnipotent and can solve any issue without challenge or difficulty.

"Wow, look how powerful I am in this fantasy world" is a premise that will always get stale after the first couple of story arcs where it truly becomes apparent that there's nothing in the setting that could pose any kind of real barrier to the MC anymore. After that it just becomes dull, predictable and repetitive (new group of weaklings do stuff, get pounded by bone man, bone man wins, rinse and repeat).

He butchers those tomb invaders without any remorse for a start.

>stories need to have "credible threats" to be interest
There are plenty of shonen threads out there user.

Yeah, defending yourself against literal murderhobo robbers is wrong!
So far, each and everything Ainz did was just self-defense or for the greater good.

Self-defense involves moderating your own behaviour to be equal to that of the attacker. Continuing to torture them repeatedly after they'd already surrendered is evil.
Mr mafioso is not evil, he acts good.

Credible threats, challenges or barriers would be more accurate I guess. It doesn't have to be a literal threat but there has to be SOMETHING that your protagonist needs to overcome, something that requires a level of effort and growth TO overcome. If that doesn't happen, the story never progresses anywhere, the characters never grow or develop and the story becomes stale.
This is writing 101 and it is exactly the reason that Overlord became stale as all fuck. You can only get by on pure spectacle and wish fulfillment for so long.

Are there any good isekai video games? I only remember Eiyuu Senki.

>Shows no interest in writing anymore
So, just like Infinite Stratos?

>Self-defense involves moderating your own behaviour to be equal to that of the attacker
Literally what Ainz did. He left all of his overpowered items behind and fought them all alone like a mere swordsman. He gave them the chance to free themselves by defeating him in a fair and square battle but they didn't take it.
>Continuing to torture them repeatedly after they'd already surrendered is evil.
They would have done the same thing to him if the situation were to be reversed. Look at how they killed the weak skeletons while laughing.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

Meh. If it's good, someone will translate it anyway. If it's bad, no loss there. To be fair, the last few books haven't been exactly awesome.

>And also a fucking jew, judging by the limited edition comments.
What were they?

Man,I miss those.Even though the last two were pretty not so great.

The name always sounded stupid to me. It's the same as naming your series Cowboy Yamato.

Nah that’s moe, overlord is worse than both because nothing matters.
Imagine being so scared to not have any threats you kill your own series.

See and chain

>not have any threats
There is something called the internal threat, in which the protagonist's enemy is his inner self who he needs to defeat to become a better person.

Which leads to nowhere for Overlord.

That's not gonna happen. Maruyama is insistent on Ainz never facing a real threat, even though it's pretty easy to come up with some in the setting. He seems to be under the impression that's what the audience wants. I have no idea why he thinks that. Did his editor tell him that?

the problem with iseaki genre is that its authors are illiterate teenagers who don't know how to write a good story.
there is nothing wrong with that premise. the problem is that author don't know how to develop it well and relate to common tropes and cliches from other works.

one last ride
goodbye overlord and daily translation thread that gets nuke by mods

>Entire book is scenes of four people describing things to each other, with no idea who is talking because jap writer doesn't specify.
Japanese lets you easily give characters distinctive speech patterns so that even in a conversation between a dozen different people you can always tell who's speaking. Machine Translations can't handle this, so they render everyone's speech in the same neutral-polite tone, and don't add any English-language cues to replace it.

Understandable, yet very stupid. Even relatively polite IRL person can be quickly pushed to the brink of a seething rage if you say that his beloved dead brother has left you the keys from his flat and this person knows for sure that it isn't the case.

It might well be the last Overlord LN thread.

In the start I was hyped for this shitty series because "ermahgerd Momon is a guild master like me end even plays undead like me!" but then the series was trying to be like "ermahgerd Momon-sama is such a badass and mature member of society! even though he's a p2w faggot with a vrmmorpg addiction... little details!" which killed the hype for me, because the marketing strategy was too obvious here, the author tried to convince middle-aged men to buy his work because "look! the protagonist is exactly like you... wait, you don't pay to win? what are you, poor?" which is very pathetic and he did it in such a shitty way that it was almost hilarious. All this while writing his dumb vrmmorpg fantasy novel that only had Stockholm syndrome to carry on the fanbase if it weren't for that badly-forced element written above. Never mind that the quality of the anime series was so SHIT that it made me want to play Diablo 2 again.

Apparently you retards missed the part where Ainz orchestrated the worker raid on Nazarick. Killing them was not self-defense, you actually have to be in danger for it to be considered that. In fact, most of the workers tried to escape, it was Ainz and co. that forced a confrontation, so your excuse is double bullshit. He killed them just to test out Nazarick's defenses. Stop making shit up to absolve Ainz of his misdeeds.

>Aura becomes that alcoholic aunt who never married and is stuck with taking care of her nephews because she doesn't have anything else to do in life
Isn't MarexShalltear incest?

>Maruyama decides to actually end it with volume 14
>will need years to get this last volume get translated into English

>Connecticut Yankee ends with the MC dying horribly after Merlin goes insane
He goes back to his own time.

Overlord seems like it'd work best as a short story.

Isn't it just an edge fest?

>people tell me to not enjoy isekai because they dont like it
>that means I shouldnt like it!
why are you so pathetic

Will we ever learn anything about the Eight Kings of Greed?

is the evileye story even worth reading? been ignoring it cause lol side story.

So it's fantasy Rick and Morty?

It's about as entertaining as any other Overlord volume. The difference is that Maruyama put some endgame stuff in there like Dragon Lords and Wild Magic, that only hold true even for the main story. These were probably ideas he kept for later or final volumes I think.

Is this real?

Read slower brainlet, he was anti p2w with some other members until one of them broke the alliance so he began buying stuff.
You can't buy any high tier gear in yggdrasil, there is no mana potions either.

It wouldn't be so bad if Megumin wasn't so fucking boring.

People disagree with you.

I want to make half vampire-elfs with Shalltear

And people disagree with you. What's your point?

Nigel 2.0 when?

Attached: 1521257976787.gif (512x512, 2.46M)

I get why nigel lost interest now. It was bad and boring. The good parts of overlord are this misunderstandings and character interaction. This was item and power wankery.

Good desu
Overlord was shit and i'm glad everyone can stop having bad fun consuming it.

The way the series has been set up, it's basically impossible for anyone to challenge Nazarick.

In Ainz's case, this would just lead to him doing more of the same.

MUCH worse. A fourth season would be completely CGI if it got much worse

Have you read the Conrad Stargard books? It's a series from the 80s about a commie bloc military engineer accidentally thrown back in time to 13th century eastern Europe. He the realizes that Mongol Empire is going to invade the region in just over a decade and scrambles to prepare to repulse them.

It's like five or six books of an engineering power fantasy as the MC, with support from most of the aristocracy and the Church advances their tech and preparation at a rapid pace. By the time the Mongols get there they have basic guns, mass-produced armor, steam gunboats patrolling rivers, simple railways for logistics, concrete fortifications, radiotelegraphy, chemical weapons, and even balloon and glider-based aerial reconnaissance.

The Mongol invasion is repulsed but the Mongols still outmaneuver the European force and cripple it several times, sack their capital, nearly kill the MC, and capture all the new tech for reverse-engineering before retreating

Plus Danmachi. They seem to be focusing on newer stuff, like 86.

>A Certain Magical Index

They're 23 volumes away from that. I did hear that Index isn't selling well for them, (big surprise, since all that stuff was translated very well years ago), so maybe they won't do New Testament.

>all that stuff was translated very well years ago
I looked at a fan translation years ago and it was terrible.

The Yen Press translation reads smoothly enough, except that they keep rendering Christian as "Crossist" and Gabriel as "ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀ ᴏꜰ ɢᴏᴅ" (I'm guessing the original had furigana?). And they're not doing the sidestories.

No, it's a rip van winkle ending gone bad.

how does he avoid being burned at the stake as a witch?

IIRC by what Maruyama said during WN days they were seven dudes and a girl and they basically killed each other over the girl (and the girl too).

tl;dr: women ruin everything

"Well said. Good Game"

>Andrew Luck left NFL and stopped TLing Overlord in space of 3 days
What a bummer this is

Nigel was Andrew Luck all along?

THey're purposely slow in releasing their translated novels and they don't really check their translators work as there have been plenty of times where the assigned translator either purposely or accidentally mistranslated something

He went to the Church first, told them his story and got permission to operate with some support but he got banned from speaking of his origins to laymen. Which was actually useful since if people pried he just told them the bishops forbade him from speaking about it and that was that. The prevailing rumor that he neither denied nor confirmed ended up being that he was an emissary of Prester John, i.e. from a legendary Christian kingdom lost somewhere in the orient. So it 'made sense' that he knew about a huge invasion from the east and weird technology.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prester_John

Superpowered murderhobos murdering each other over petty shit as Dragon Lords and civilizations die in the crossfire would have made for a fun story.

Because the witch hunts were overstated and never really as common as modern media likes to portray it as

Not to mention witch burning was more of an Early Modern than medieval pastime, and more secular / Protestant than Catholic since the Catholic church consistently held that witchcraft doesn't exist and the main job of inquisitors in that regard was DISPROVING claims of witchcraft.

Now HERESY, you could get burned for that. Like claiming witches exist.

Isn't the ST spreading anti-undead/demihumans/other races propaganda in Ainz territories?

Aw, man.
Shit sucks. I do hope some kind souls pick this up and continue the translation.
My autistic tendency can't handle waiting for the official translation anymore.

>Have counterintelligence unit
>Don't use it
Are they JUSTED or will they try to antagonize Ainz?

They're still in 'let's not provoke it and see what happens' mode. The Theocracy predates the Eight Greed Kings so even ignoring their own gods this isn't their first player rodeo. And THAT problem eventually resolved itself. By the discussions they held in volume 10 they aren't certain how many players there are and hypothesized that the Sorcerer King, Jaldabaoth, Momon, and Shalltear could all be players and might be allies / enemies.

'Wait and see' is a relatively good strategy all things considered.

Wouldnt spreading bad rumors about Momon be the best play?

The best play is not putting your hands into the rapidly spinning gears of history before you know how the mechanism works. One of the Theocracy's gods was undead too so it's not like they HAVE to antagonize the Sorcerer King either. The Theocracy's leaders seemed very pragmatic, not fanatical, and they know they're outgunned.

Catholic were the ones doing witchcraft so of course they deny it.
They operate like nazarick, layers of false flags everywhere and on themselves.

Can someone explain why nips in general are so bad at writting stuff?

Attached: 1431985310118.jpg (720x575, 26K)

Imagine an industry founded on publishers scouring shitty fanfic sites for fanfics which managed to generate some level of following and hiring their authors to rewrite and continue the fanfic as a published book and you have the Japanese LN industry.

Most WN and LN authors have no formal writing experience, and often just throw everything at the wall until something sticks. Most also don't plan anything so you get food and bath wanking as filler for the shittier ones.

>Can someone explain why nips in general are so bad at writting stuff?
compared to whom?

I read two books a week but I don't remember ever reading a good book written in the past hundred years.

It's not Nips, but rather LN authors. No formal experience, all amateurs. They write till something finds an audience. A publisher notices, markets the books, and eventually the LN author's inexperience shines through.

Web novel writers are akin fanfic writers first actual writers second, they are role-play self-inserter at best.
They do not have any reading experience aside from other webnovels. They don't know how to compose a story for a fucking book. Grinding 500 words every few for their readers, pulling shit out of their asses.
Editors carry their dead weight ass for Light Novel(physical release).

Basically it is what happens for 50 shades of gray but in Japan.

Attached: 50 shades of gray cover.jpg (194x259, 11K)

>westernshit is automatically well written
Retard

>Not spresding rumours that Momon is a lecherous bastard thats trying to get into the Prime Minister's pants

>Can someone explain why nips in general are so bad at writting stuff?
maybe stop being such a normalfag that watches seasonal meme animes like overlord and realize that LN animes are usually garbage

Your only exposure to nip literature outside of manga/anime is through amateur fuckers getting lucky breaks.
Honestly I wish Teito monogatari's novels were translated. Only thing I want to read

Overlord? More like thank the Lord it's over.

Attached: Mungs2.png (1764x2779, 515K)

The pacing goes to shit in the final few episodes trying to cram a bunch of plot points in with a bit of mediocre writing but it's nowhere near as bad as Yea Forums says.

>>fap a couple of times to both of them
stop thinking with yoir dick user, also whos best girl

this is the best one in this thread

I like this guy.

>spoiled by a demon
So they get to live? What kind of treatment could you expect from Albedo as your mom?

Overprotective and doting.
She already made clothes for the future children until the age of six or something.

Attached: 1554772067337.jpg (1920x1480, 575K)

What if the child betrays her's and everyones expectations (Neia included) and is no better than Philip?

It depends. A child will be executed on a spot without a second thought if he tries to antagonize Momonga.
So chances are he will not survive his rebellious phase without suffering an "accident" with Rubedo. It's gonna be so much fun to make a new one, anyway.
Mind control is also an option.

>>Antagonize Ainz
>Ainz: I think with your race bonuses you can be a very good spell caster
>Momonga Jr: but I want to be a warrior just like uncle Cocytus!
>Albedo: The Farm it is!
Demon mothers never...

Imagine if js06 someday does this.

who the fuck cares if a translator quit? There are tens of thousands of translators

4 months isn't all that slow, considering they have to physical prints and avoid saturating the market too much.

The problem is when released keep getting delayed when they're close to catching up with Japan.

This is a mild case, so a bit of mind control can fix that in no time.

Attached: 1552274893200.png (732x720, 806K)

Js06 translations are pretty good, mate.

Pretty much this. The only things that are actually interesting are Ainz, the guardians, and some side characters interacting with them.
Maruyama just has a storytelling style that doesn't work very well to create satisfying moments. That was evident since the lizardman stuff. As much of the idea of abandoning everything for a weird and unique segment like that was, it really kills the momentum and interest over time.
I just caught up with the Light Novels and really enjoyed the parts with Ainz interacting with the dwarves and Neia, but everything else is a slog.

>After that Jr was seen practicing his magic skills for a couple of weeks.. without rest
Would the child of two Yggdrasil beings be bound to its rules or would it be able to acces NWs skills and magic? How long would it take for Ainz to level up his skin?

Only one way to find out. Or they can ask someone like ZZ. That works too.

>defending yourself
>having people tortured and raped to death after tricking them into coming into your dungeon
lol retard

I totally would if I could. Burglars deserve death.
They are sorry not because they realised that being a murderhobo is wrong but because they unknowingly tried to pick on a bigger bully.
There is a difference between being sorry and being sorry for getting caught.

>defending le home
What Ainz was doing was literally putting cages with food inside to lure small animals in, and then dissect every single one of them.

are they really burglars if you invite them into your home?

>invite
Ainz never invited them. Demi baited them and Ainz hasn't managed to concoct a better plan so he rolled with it.
It's the equivalent of leaving a few fat stacks of cash out in the open on your backyard.
This is not an invitation for anyone other than a murderhobo.
This is arguably an immoral behaviour on his part, but it doesn't excuse workers in slightest.
>small animals
Animals are not moral agents. People are.

When did you drop Overlord Yea Forums?
Dropped it after Vol. 7, I clearly felt I wasn't the intended audience after this.

Attached: 1545893227554.png (288x465, 218K)

I won't

I still didn't. I yet to watch the second half of S3, though.

>the large tomb
stunning prose there, good job, really makes for a vivid title

if you have any semblance of intelligence, i implore you to not continue.

it just isn't worth it with the terribly executed plot.

>plot
I've read the LN a few times.

Ill wank for you

Albedo is my lovely wife!
I watched the anime and read the LNs.
I think this is an amazing series.
Looking forward to see Ainz win and win some more.
I love this series.

Attached: 1564487971032.jpg (720x876, 93K)

Why do you guys keep hating on the plot?
I thought it was really nice.

Attached: 1542129105185.png (848x1200, 985K)

There were other people capable of translating it, but they didn't do so thanks to Nigel's speed and due to respect to him. So, probably we will still get translations once it comes out, but a much slower pace.

All the other anons are wrong, what it killed the series is that the author is too fucking slow in his releases. You can't keep a series of this 'quality' with the same interest if you release 200 pages each 1,5 or 2 years.
Anime trying to max the benefits fucked everything up.

not exactly 3rd season, but remember the lizards? yeah, i don't think i need to say anymore.

Attached: normal_Crusch_Lulu_and_Zaryusu_Sex_1.jpg (400x225, 8K)

Yeah not a big fan of the lizards myself.
I don't know why they spent so much time on them.
I skipped most of their scenes lol.
I really love this series though.
Hoping to see how it develops and ends.
Wish there was more of Albedo.

>what happened to the dwarven forgemaster who ran away with Ainz's ingot?
When did this happen and why would this be of any importance at all?

Is she ever coming back?

Attached: 1543341425482.jpg (810x1080, 644K)

>why would this be of any importance at all?
Because it parallels evil gaijin stealing Maruyama's IP.

She came back in a three episode PPP special, didn't she?

I hate that they off screened the Guardian. They owed me a fucking fight. God bless the first half of the season but the ending sucked dick.

Well yeah but I meant in the real story.
She knows Momon is Ainz.
I wonder if she'll be the one to reveal his identity.
What happened to her corpse?

Attached: 1539574305635.jpg (1500x1500, 391K)

Unlikely.
Not really. I'm willing to wait. I still read HxH and Berserk, though.

Goodbye, everyone, it's been a blast.

Spinoff from Albedo's perspective when? Will her [Wishes] come true?

If I were Ainz, I would give her a Shooting Star Ring as a reward for one of her big services just to see what would happen lol.

>explain

>"Wow, look how powerful I am in this fantasy world" is a premise that will always get stale after the first couple of story arcs where it truly becomes apparent that there's nothing in the setting that could pose any kind of real barrier to the MC anymore.
I'm sure there are ways to do it, because brute strength doesn't solve all problems. Like maybe pissing off royalty who turns the plebs against you by running smear campaigns.
But that would require hard work and thinking.

Albedo drswrves a real man amd mit a skeleton

That would count as a barrier though user, problem is that whenever such a problem crops up in Overlord Ainz always has a spell or item that can solve it. On the rare occasion that he doesn't pull and instant solution out of his ass a coincidence causes the problem to resolve itself.
This is part of why Overlord got so boring. It's not just that he's overpowered to an extent so utterly extreme that it even outclasses most other isekai protagonists, he also has absurd amounts of plot armour from every angle preventing any actual problem that needs him to really adapt and grow as a character to solve it.

Fuck you too, Maruyama.
