I don't agree. Through Impel Down and Marineford alone Luffy & Jinbei have been through more together than Luffy has with a couple of the actual Strawhats, since then Jinbei's only further developed his relationship with him and to a lesser extent some of the other crewmates.
To be honest I feel like the crew's roster should've been set in stone before the timeskip happened though, it's weird to me that they're talking about needing a helmsman this far into the story.

It looks legit OOC at first, but it makes sense when you think about it. This was mostly an adventure story which only got tragic towards the end, so Luffy didn't get bored halfway through.

The four symbols are viewed as the guardians of the four cardinal directions. In the context of this arc they would represent the entities that solidify Orochi's rule over Wano. Kaido is the muscle or military power, but in order for Orochi to be able to rule he also needs some sort of covert ops like his ninjas to keep him safe from assassinations, some kind of propagandists/PR people/celebrities that influence the flow of information and distort people's perceptions with fake stories of his heroism, and lastly a source of economic power to keep everything funded. The aim of the rebel alliance would be to overthrow Orochi by destroying the pillars that support his rule. Bankrupt his regime, make him lose the support of his troops and then take him down so that Kaido can be dealt with on his own.

Yeah, but even Luffy, our strongest main DF user, needs to fucking shorten his lifespan to get anywhere. Law does the same. Brook fucking died for his powers. Our main cast need powers today, not after 40 years or so. They do whatever gets them their fastest. So in that regard, they need high amounts of equipment rather than training for 5 years to match the veteran pirates they will face.

It's building up to revolutionaries,navy,big mom and kaido battle.Orochi is already dealing with cp0 which will involve the navy sometime soon plus big mom and kaido meeting will force an action at some point by the navy, big mom forces are at wano, sabo and by extension the revolutionaries are getting involved since he's already shown an interest in the weapons being manufactured in wano.
Once we get the japs developed enough it's gonna be a free for all between the strongest forces with Teach sitting back and watching the chaos unfold.
