I think Ufotable completely missed the point of the sex scenes. They turned them into plain old fanservice and sexualized Sakura throughout the whole movie without realizing those scenes were meant to be disturbing, not erotic.
Worst offenders are the masturbation scene, which is not even shown in the VN, just narrated in a fucked up way, and the worm pit scene where they focus on her ass instead of her emotions. Also, Fate Zero already did that one, and did it better we didn't need to see it again.

Zouken basically goes into a coma after getting NTR'd and the Matou family just basically dies off entirely. Tokiomi still has a strong kid he needs to give away, and giving it to the Edelfelt can be seen as an attempt to repair the relationship between the families.

It was bad because it was rock-paper-scissors gameplay with recycled characters/character designs in a surprisingly compelling and unrelated setting. It barely resembled "fate" content before it, despite copping half of the VN's cast.

First off, yyour entire argument is based around the fact that liking Fate/Go stops me from being a true fan or enjoying/disliking the rest of the Fate Franchise, which is quite untrue.

I learned about the Nasuverse through Fate/Zero. I quite enjoyed it, at the time, i didn't really know about the servant system and it was a quite good introduction, besides the original VN of course. Next i watched the UBW movie, and them played the VN. Both were quite good.

I them read apocrypha through online scans. While the MC was shit, the way they treated the more OP servants like Achilles was quite interesting, and the "Shirou" reveal was also unexpeted. Overral, an above-average read.

Fate/Extra was next. Since i went with the OG and CCC after that, i obvisiouly liked CCC more, specially since Gilgamesh was a great addition to the game. Fate/Extella was somewhat of a dissapointment though, i felt there was way too much Nero Shilling to truly enjoy the characters, but it had some acceptable interactions nonetheless. After that, i tried reading Strange Fake, but the lack of scans made it difficult. I did like the concept, though.

Lastly i played Fate/Go. Not really my cup of tea at first, but the new servants and interactions during the main plot sold it for me. I play it about 4 times a week, sometimes more when i have free time. Oh yes, and i also watched Carnival Phantasm. Great parody, specially the assassin's scenes, my favorite servant in the franchise.

Man I watched that up until the CGI dragon and it turned me off of fate for nearly three years.

The official release order is not chronological. Some people hate that, and it is mostly possible to rearrange them to watch in the order the events occurred, except for the last movie which skips around.

The first movie (Overlooking View) is also one of the weaker ones. But I would just watch in order or skip only that one and start with Murder Spectacular Part A.
