It still technically grants wishes. The wishes just get twisted into whatever benefits Angry Manjew the most (usually "kill everyone").

What's wrong with the Type-Moon wiki? I see people shit on it all the time but I don't get specifically what it does wrong.

It's the same as with any other wiki. It's compiled by people and most people don't really know that much and in case of fate rely on 2nd grade fan translations.

I wouldn't know any better anyway, so it doesn't bother me, but it's still better to take it with a grain of salt.

I just finished the first movie, it skips a fucking lot of infodumps and assumes you're familiar with the movie or at least have watched Zero and UBW.

Honestly if Fate ever gets an adaptation I hope it's done by people as passionate as the ones who made this.

Really the only problems I have with the film is it skips over Archer vs Lancer in the school, Lancer killing Shirou, Tohsaka reviving Shirou, Saber's summon and the CG in the Lancer v Assassin fight.

A lot of the problem is simple verbage. The language used is austere to the point of not fitting the writing style of Nasu. There also are meant to have been some bloopers and ways of being translated that introduce misunderstandings. That whole ordeal with molestors for example.

I recall that one post trying to more accurately translate the opening and how it is just unlike what it's translated as.

While the translation might be accurate, as a matter of fact, to a decent degree, it just doesn't do justice to the writing style, giving people incorrect impressions and generally low appreciation. You're just not reading the same thing Nasu wrote by a long mile and while that's naturally the case in any translations it really is quite huge in this one as far as I could tell.

There's also the obvious issue of the VN being heavily Japanese, so it's just difficult to convey properly what is being said as it also relies on the reader being familiar with the culture and its references and its importance in general.

I just hope it's as good as UBW.
The UBW adaptation exceeded ALL of my expectations.

You have to finish true before you get the choice, it's better just to reach limit vs Saber so you read normal end first

That's my favorite part about it actually. It's the adaptation of the 3rd route and it doesn't hide that fact. It cuts all the fat and entirely expects you to have been following along with the franchise to at least some extent. Especially considering that they went with the movie route, I feel like it would only bog things down to dwell on information that we should already be more than familiar with by now, especially considering that most of it is irrelevant in this route anyway considering that the entire war gets fucked up.

First you play the games.
Then you watch the movies.
Then you throw all that out the window because Grand Order gives you a superior kouhai and Fuyuki is never spoken of again.

I can't really make my mind up if I agree with you or not, I don't really dislike those changes but I think they could've been handled a little differently than just being scenes in the intro credits, at the very least I think Saber's summon should've had her first in it.
