There is the H-Manga and the serialized manga, both illustrated and written by Iida Pochi. The serialized manga is about Yuu-kun and his time with the outer goddess Shub-Niggurath, who is disguised as his beautiful older sister Chiyo. It primarily focuses on the relationship between humans and gods, with some fanservice and spooks thrown into the mix. The H-manga supposedly takes place some time after and focuses on the two having lots and lots of sex and loving each other a lot. Both are fantastic works.

I know this is a seemingly-disingenous cliche as fuck things to say and a bit of hack-joke, but I legit am interested in the story. I wanna know what the fuck was the Uncle doing? The flashback narrative keeps to insinuate something tragic and bittersweet happen: what's being foreshadowed? Why is that other chick protective of his uncle? Etc. etc.

I'm pretty sure the uncle and dog girl had a relationship but were torn apart and uncle was trying to summon her back but got Chiyo instead and fucked himself up. I expect Yuu and Chiyo are on track to repeat the same cycle.

I believe Pochi said both are canon, but it's clear that the H-manga takes place later on. For one, they only start having sex after Yuu breaks the contract. Yuu also struggles with seeing Chiyo as a sister instead of the insanely attractive woman she is, which probably wouldn't be the case if they were already having sex. We also have the tragedy that is supposed to happen, presumably before they start fucking.
We can only guess. It appears that Yuu either had siblings who died or his aunts and uncles resent him for their deaths. He has dreams about events he can't remember. Chiyo also has her own secrets. Who were the siblings she met before? She seems to feel regret over her apathy at one of their deaths, and she frequently makes off hand comments about the fragility of humans.

The real question though: Is Chiyo an Outer God or a Great Old One? I'm curious to know which one Pochi is going with. As I recall, Lovecraft himself never specifically stated which of the two Shub Niggurath was, and various uses of the IP have differed in which they present her as.

She's powerful enough to completely disregard whatever is in the basement and her shadow is enough to subdue Haru, and she spends eternities napping sometimes. She can seemingly bring anything to life through drawings and she mutates watermelons into Nyarlathotep look a likes by just thinking about them too much, but she can't bring back the dead.
