Because that's how it goes IRL. For example, Raffaele Cutolo could be a chill guy, fond of poetry and art, but on the other side he was a ruthless murderer.
Chase Martinez
If somebody has bad intentions, they're not going to be up front about them, so anything that appears to be bad on the surface, isn't really.
Juan Brown
Here's a better question: After Narancia died, if Giorno (who swapped bodies with Narancia at the time) was able to heal the wounds of the corpse, allowing Giorno's soul to swap back into his original body and leaving Narancia's body as the corpse, then why didn't they do that for Polnareff? They went back to the Colosseum, presumably Giorno could have fixed the wounds of Polnareff's dead body (even making some functional legs for him), and by the same mechanism, Polnareff's soul should have been able to slip back into his empty body somehow
Why the hell did Polnareff choose to live his life as a turtle?? Did he want to have people carry him for the rest of his life and shit on the floor? It pisses me off
>Speedwagon He starts off as a seemingly bad person but Jonathan's bravery enlightened him so he decided to become a better person. He grew up on the bad side of Victorian England so he had to become a thief to find success. >Stroheim See : >Kakyoin >Polnareff They were possessed. >Okuyasu He's dumb and was following his bro's orders but he still had good intentions like saving his dad. Keicho was killing people not him. >Hazamada He got his lesson and acted friendly towards Koichi after his fight so they assumed he was good. >Hazamada He got his lesson. >Rohan The duwang gang taught him how to become a better person. It took time for him to get along with Josuke and the others besides Koichi and Reimi. >Yukako Koichi fell for her
Characters from part 4 seem to forgive people after they got beaten up most of the time. (Josuke went too far with Miyamoto) >Bruno He was trying to intimidate Giorno a little bit, he was just following the orders and thought Giogio was a murderer.
Christopher Clark
Part 4 constantly doing that seriously killed my enjoyment. There are multiple characters who tried to kill main characters for no reason.
Nathan Miller
>Yes I think they should kill dumb teenagers Only people that died in Part 4 deserved it
Let's count how many people Giorno killed directly or indirectly: >Leaky-Eye Luca >Polpo >Melone >Ghiacchio >Cioccolata >Diavolo
He assisted in a lot of other kills, too.
Nathan Hill
It's actually a shonen trope, not just Jojo. Enemy to friend is like a shonen staple, it's just Araki makes it more exaggerated and weird. It's actually stopped when Jojo went seinen, except for Wekapipo and maybe Joshu.
Colton Williams
They don't have to kill them. The writing just has to be less retarded.
Dominic Taylor
Your question is literally the same as asking 'Why doesn't a ghost just possess their own dead body'. Giorno wasn't dead and could enter his body fine, Narancia died and his soul moved on. Polnareff stuck around but is a ghost, his body is dead beyond repair even if Giorno got to it now.
Nathan Watson
Because araki love horror movies
Blake Collins
Can we all agree that Awakening Three Leaves is the best post Part 5 Stand, in terms of originality?
Brayden Nelson
>lol arrows No
Grayson Russell
Reminder that Part 7 = combination of the two weakest JoJo parts (1+3) = better than both of them. Part 8 = combination of two of the three best JoJo parts (2+4, the other one being 7) = is weaker than both of them.
Anthony Davis
There is nothing 2 or 4 does better than 8.
Jayden Reyes
There is nothing 8 does better than 2 or 4.
Wyatt Collins
>the two weakest JoJo parts >(1+3) Opinion invalidated
Grayson Price
>Part 3 >weakest lmao not even close 1 is always going to be the worst followed by 6 fuck Part 6 and larpers who pretend it's not shit
I would agree, but he went to his funeral, and did the whole JOOOJOOOOOOOOO scream
David Davis
>He starts off as a seemingly bad person but Jonathan's bravery enlightened him so he decided to become a better person. >He grew up on the bad side of Victorian England so he had to become a thief to find success.
I know everyone loves Speedwagon, but he's introduced as a guy who was going to mutilate some rich dude with his gang of scumbags who changes his mind because Johnathan kicked him a certain way and was nice, then this makes him full homo for the guy and somehow all traces of his scumbaggery just vanish like he was never a guy who tried to eviscerate someone with a hat because they were there. He's all over the place.
Chase Hill
Didn’t Miyamoto attack Josuke’s mom?
Brody Myers
the Vegeta effect
Noah Parker
While we're here, Shigechi's death is the most fucked up and horrifying death in all of JoJo, let alone Part 4
Zachary Butler
to be honest fuck rich people anyways
Caleb Rodriguez
>There's no beginning and there is no end >Time isn't present in that dimension
Aaron Gonzalez
Stardust Crusaders is the biggest filler arc in an anime, I'd watch Phantom Blood over that any day, although in a shcking twist I really don't like Johnathan, him and his dad were so fucking stupid they deserved to have Dio wrck their lives. There's a fucking line separating honorable and fucking gullible moron and they were both way past it.
>filler arc fun character moments and fights>plot progression
Ryan Wilson
Eh, Shigechi was a kid frightened out of his mind, desperate to warn his friends and family, in his final moments he screams for the friend who didn't even hear him die. Can only imagine how scared the little guy was.
Daniel Nguyen
>'Why doesn't a ghost just possess their own dead body'. That’s basically what Giorno did.
Levi Rivera
to have character moments you need characters, and part 3 only has soulless husks (save for polnareff and joseph)
James Thompson
like 30 episodes of it takes the piss a little bit.
Jonathan Ramirez
>He's all over the place. That was two places.
Dylan Mitchell
>Stardust Crusaders is the biggest filler arc in an anime The absolute state of jojo threads
Jack Hall
Actual question, what did Polpo actually do wrong? He probably thought Giorno would make a great addition to his crew as he managed to pass his test, however he was betrayed by him and was not able to live his quiet life inside his jail cell.
Eli Peterson
>what did Polpo actually do wrong? Nothing
Jace Richardson
every other Part has less memorable character interaction aside from 4 3 is full of based stuff like fake Kakyoin, the toilet pig, Avdol pissing, Hol Horse every time he appears.
hell Part 5 doesn't even have any moments like these, you get Abacchio's piss tea and then you get Narancia thinking Giorno is molesting Mista, that's it. Aside from that it's nothing but fighting front to back.
Carter Martinez
Avdol was a way better character than Polnareff, who almost fucks everything up every other episode by being a retard. It's a shame that Magician's Red is such a boring fucking stand, they managed to make a stand able to melt bullets in mid air boring somehow so props for that.
James Cox
>what did Polpo actually do wrong? Got an innocent bystander killed. Chances are if his initiations only killed people who were auditioning for the gang, Giorno wouldn't have cared.
Hudson Green
Outside of being a creep and trapping her with Enigma, he left her completely unharmed. I not saying that Miyamoto did nothing wrong, but he didn’t deserve the Angelo treatment when he didn’t do anymore harm than the average rando stand user
Watching the double parter with the mother of the Hanged Man guy almost made me bail on the show, it was like nails on a chalkboard.
Julian Robinson
>Got an innocent bystander killed. That was Giorno
Cameron Morales
So you have shit taste.
Alexander Morgan
I think bucciarati is the most jarring of all of them though. He's literally like a completely different person after the first episode he appears in
Adrian Parker
O MY WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Lucas Butler
>rohan has the attempted murder of koichi and okuyasu under his belt >gets beaten and hospitalized >enigma boy kidnaps but ultimately doesn't harm josuke's mom >fate worse than death
Sebastian Reed
If preferring Part 4/5 to 3 is shit taste so be it. Kira alone is better than Part 3.
Joshua Cruz
Reminder that Rohan molests Koichi every night and gets away with it.
Liam Howard
Justice did not get proper justice
Bentley Thompson
>talk shit >spin the wheel to determine the degree to which you get hit
Blake Ross
How is she alive
Andrew Baker
She isn’t.
Henry Watson
...
Isaac Thomas
I love how Bucciarati's entire recruitment process boils down to "find homeless kids and give them superpowers"
Christian Jackson
he's got his own brainwashing restaurant and everything
Angel Hernandez
>=I'll just bring the susceptible into the mafia and make them my soldiers No wonder they kept turning to Giorno, he actually valued their lives.
Brody Moore
But he didn't ?
Luke Miller
Hol Horse was cheated out of this because Araki got cold feet at the last second cause he was too similar to Polnareff. He had the set up and everything, but Araki dropped the ball.
Hol Horse was a partner in crime with a serial rapist who raped one of the main character's sister. No way he'd join the crew anyhow.
Grayson Cox
>take off the hat >show flesh bud It's that easy.
Jeremiah Sanchez
>What is it with Jojo and this trope It's an old battle shounen thing. Otokojuku for example, probably the biggest inspiration for jojo after Hokuto no Ken, and Kinnikuman, the first battle shounen, do that for literally every character.
Chase Phillips
giorno just hate fat people
Jose Evans
>Awakening Three Leaves is the best post Part 5 Stand
>stroheim was never friends with joseph They had extreme respect towards one another. Joseph actually teared up when Stroheim blew himself up, and Stroheim helped Joseph recover even though he had literally no reason to after Kars was defeated. Stroheim was the closest thing to a second JoBro after Caesar died.
Cooper Turner
>He's literally like a completely different person after the first episode he appears in He's also way smarter with his powers in his introduction, like hiding himself in people, which he never does again later.
Jose Cruz
>Annasui gets introduced as a creepy yandere psychopath >becomes the main comedy act right after his debut fight
Part 3 needed less fights and more interaction. Kakoyinh only interacted a few times with Jojo. Avdol with Polnareff and Old Joseph. Iggy with only polnareff. I want more moments like Jotaro saying that he will not take the same flight as his grampa or the polnareff/kaykoyin salute. I think because of the few moments like thoses is way Polnareff is usually the favourite character of that arc (also because he was one of the few character of the group that got character development)
Zachary Barnes
Kakyoin and Avdol are non characters, same with Iggy for most of his screen time
Christopher Murphy
Actually, Giorno killing Polpo due to let innocent citiziens being killed and letting Koichi and Bruno being alive due to be “nice person” were the only time it shows some characterizacion from him. Then he became just “I HAVE A DREAM” and the reason why Mista and Bruno steals the show even if the three have the same screentime
>DUDE WE HAVE THIS NEW CHARACTER IN THE CREW, HE’S VERY POWERFUL >Only appears in like 3 fights, winning just one
Adrian Sanchez
Part 3 has a pretty decent amount of character interaction compared to other parts.
Lincoln Bell
Nah it was Polpo. Giorno knew nothing about Black Sabbath and Black Sabbath should have been made to attack only auditioning members or kept away from the general public if it could not be. But Polpo didn't care about the casualties, so it wasn't.
James Miller
Remember when in the Giorno vs Bruno, Giornio have the power to make the opponent feel everything slower? Me neither
True, but 3 have 6 MC, while 4 only have 4 MC and 2 have 3 MC. From such a large number I expected more. Specially from characters like Jotaro that have funnily edgy and have strong one liners
Austin Roberts
>or kept away from the general public if it could not be. It's almost as if though Polpo told Giorno to take the lighter to his room and wait quietly.
Ryder Scott
He still has to transport the lighter to his room and in doing so, it could have gone out at any given time of the day for any number of reasons. It's not like Giorno can teleport.
Part 5 haters are so fucking stupid I can't believe this.
Eli Richardson
So what? Black Sabbath doesn't attack people when the lighter goes out. It attacks people when the lighter is LIT. Obviously if the light goes out while you're walking home, you would wait until you got back to relight it.
>Part 5 haters are so fucking stupid I can't believe this. Why are you automatically assuming that I'm a "hater" just because I pointed out a single flaw in one arc? Do you have a persecution complex?
Daniel Cooper
Blame Koichi for that
Isaac Rodriguez
Giorno didn't have to hide from Koichi.
Noah Hughes
That's a general problem in 5, the beginning was like a whole different(better) show.
Landon Gomez
>Add best character from 4 in the beggining of the new arc >Forget about him a few chapter lates Why?
Maybe he have to? Because he stole his wallet? And maybe Koichi would try to kick his ass due to that and, therefore, the lighter would lose the fire?
Nathan Howard
Just give him his wallet back then? Whatever happened to the "I can tell that you're a good person" shit from earlier?
Lucas Turner
>But Polpo didn't care about the casualties, so it wasn't. user, Polpo doesn't even know what the fuck is going on, Black Sabbath is automatic and tied to the lighter. The janitor's death was an accident. Banana gun funnies aside, Polpo should not have been taken out of the picture so quickly. He was more of an interesting mafia boss than that retard Diavolo.
Xavier Price
>Actual question, what did Polpo actually do wrong?
He's literally a murdering, drug-dealing gangster.
Ethan Butler
I believe user meant, what did Polpo actually do wrong relative to the protagonists of the story
Wyatt Bell
>Steals >”Haha you punched me but you’re a good person because you didn’t kicked me. Anyways how’s the day going?”
Jackson Rodriguez
>Polpo doesn't even know what the fuck is going on He knows what his stand does, yet he obviously doesnt care about civilians possibly getting killed by it.
Joshua Bennett
Haha just like Gironio
John Reyes
He gives people specific instructions to prevent innocent people from getting involved with the test. It's not his fault if someone wants to cheat.
Angel Nguyen
actually you're wrong Anasui was introduced as a fucking woman god Part 6 is terrible
>fugo stabbing narancia with a fork >mista feeding the pistols >abbachio and giorno fighting during man in the mirror >narancia and mista chasing frogs >bruno reassuring trish >narancia and mista fighting over chocolate >all of the body swap stuff >turtle polnareff's first appearance This isn't even counting some of the villain interactions tfw butthurt part 5 fag
Henry Wood
They beat up and kidnapped iggy, obviously he would hate them
Colton Barnes
>trope This word needs to be incinerated.
Jaxon Harris
I'm surprised between your post and the other one that the torture dance wasn't mentioned, or does that fall under villain interactions
Ryan Hill
I think that's villain interaction, but the torture dance is definitely one of the most memorable scenes in this series
Tyler Lewis
Diavolo isn't dead
Austin Taylor
Doesn't mean he wasn't killed
Dominic Sullivan
How is it more original than paper moon king's
Joseph Butler
Trash opinion Part shitters are garbage
Chase Morris
I find it funny how you chose to reply to that post out of all of the partshitting in this thread.
Julian Flores
Joseph literally mentions him not being there.
Tyler Martin
To me, what makes Part 3's crew feel better than 5's is that it was a crew that formed through the course of the story. When we see those interactions between the characters, we are seeing them form bonds with each other. In Part 5, all of the interactions are between Bruno's gang, who met each other and became friends before the story started.
Christian Scott
He was pushing the drugs that Giorno wanted to stop. He was in the way of Buccarati and Giorno's goal of changing the system.
Leo Smith
Polpo wasn't in charge of the drug team.
Henry Parker
sounds like every shounen ever
Hudson Richardson
I agree, that's one of the saddest deaths in JoJo. I don't get why anime-only normies dislike him so much/didn't care when he died. He was either some of us at one point or we knew someone like that growing up. A bratty kid with a lot of growing up to do, but lots of potential and deep down a heart of gold that wants everyone who cares for him to be safe. Killed in an instant, mercilessly, just like that.
Mista and Giorno forged a genuine bond. Bruno and Giorno too
Hunter King
But like the other guy said, you don't see it outside of fights. Giorno wasn't a part of those moments like the torture dance or the mealtime conversations that Bruno's gang had with each other.
Anthony Fisher
everyone did
Isaiah Adams
maybe because he's not a goofball like mista narancia and fugo? Did you ever consider that?
Eli Taylor
Do you know what we're talking about in this conversation or are you just jumping in randomly without reading it?
Egypt itself is great (I still think Joseph should have died), the antagonist is already developed and established, is an actual threat to the team and moves at a decent pace. The middle of the part is just boring fights against enemies who have no weight to them, either in tension or emotion from being developed. Maybe fewer tarot cards, but that was probably not going to be possible to stay on theme.
Other parts also have a slog fight train to get to the end, but they're often fine because there's something more with characters going on, most of SC cast is static after joining the party. Jotaro's personality type is also boring as fuck for me. Joseph stole the show again.
