I was hyped for the DC arc, but togashi mishandling the succession war killed it.

I know Togashi read liar game and death note, so I don't get how he failed to apply any of the techniques those manga used to make lots of text and complex explanations interesting.

Instead Togashi prefers to put giant blocks of text that have maybe one sentence of necessary info buried in a paragraph.

He keeps introducing characters, but makes them all look like retarded muppets like that would help us differentiate them. Does he not know he can change their uniforms or make them wear pins or something?

Unless something changes I have no faith in the future of HxH being anything more then ok. If it ever comes out that is.

I'm assuming he always had the stars and only when a guard dies and he inherits the power it glows, but there's no such thing as an addition of a new star, the stars are all there already, they just glow when he receives the ability. So the additional star you're referring to, is not a place holder for his own ability, I agree, it doesn't make sense, it's a place holder for an ability yet to be inherited. About the second problem, I assumed he can have up to a max of 10 abilities, one per finger, and he's either capped once he reaches 10 or the new one he receives takes the place of the last one. I say this because we see 3 stars but the remaining two fingers are kinda hidden so I think there might actually be a star under each finger already. Alternatively, those are the only three stars and it means he can hold only three powers at the same time. I don't think the third star signifies a pre war power or else he would have mentioned the guards name along with Musse and Vincent

The lore is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Chekov's gun most of the scenes will go over a typical viewer's head. That's not true, we don't see neither progress nor a direction, the first time we're shown the stars two are already glowing, we didn't see the first one glow and then in a different moment the second one light up, so we have no way of knowing the direction, for all we know, before Vincent's death, all the stars were already there and the first one lit up starting from the left, which means the last one is yet to glow because he has to inherit another ability first.

Again, I don't known what you're basing this on but we only see the stars once, so your "always" is just one instance in which we see two stars glowing, the most obvious conclusion is that those two are glowing because Benjamin inherited two abilities, why would the other one not glow if it is indeed meant to represent another ability? Time passed between the death of Vincent and Musse, I don't see why they should stop glowing after a certain amount of time, and the third one is the only one not glowing.

If Benjamin can only store 4 abilities in one hand, the index finger should have been Vict.

Neither Leol nor Chrollo have any specified upper limit to abilities they can steal. Only Kurapika so far has a hard limit of 1 at a time. Benjamin's restrictions are even harsher than the first two I mentioned, and he's clearly a gifted nen user given how even though he's likely a specialist, he has a very high degree of enhancement going on.

I don't see why he would have to create an arbitrary number of abilities he can store given his restrictions. And I still think he's the kind of person to value each soldier even after death, having any of their marks disappear would be the same as forgetting their sacrifice. Benjamin himself would be a walking memorial for his troops, which I think fits his characterization.

I'm guessing Benjamin can use all the abilities at the same time. Something Chrollo or Kurapika can't do.
