If you`d actually could read, you`d know just how different quality is both story and language wise. Japanese LNs are the lowest of the low aimed at 8yo kids with reading issues. Manga and anime adaptations are in 99,9% cases huge improvement on source japanese LNs, because people who actually tried read them know how badly all of them are written. And i don't mean generic or boring storywise - i mean written like homework by 1st grader in school and still published by some miracle.

At very least in Chinese webnovels and fiction there is obvious trace of the massive and ancient culture. Theres's non in japanese. Korean novels are ok, but feel very "manufactured".

Characters aren't interesting and don't receive enough development to be interesting.
Story is simple and forgettable with most conflicts being resolved in the same way, the MC being too fucking OP. The side characters are not really necessary when the MC is this much of a wish fulfillment.
Show is too interested in dispensing karma to everyone that wronged the MC to focus on actually interesting things.
It does a shit job telling you about the game, the abilities in the game and why the MC is such a genius revolutionary for using things no one else has ever done before. The only way it does this is showing his fingers on the keyboard, which is dull. The parts of the fight that get animated are hard to follow when the game is so poorly explained.

tldr

Anime only complaining a 24 episode show does not explain in detail every thing of 1800 chapter novel.

The novel does explain everything, up to which what ability does, detailed dungeon tactics and boss mechanics, lots of lore and scenes - where one episode of anime can cover dozens of chapters. Its anime for novel fans, because its insanely popular in China - complaints about presentation of events/mechanics are valid, since there are just way way too much depth in it impossible to transmit in anime, as anime is more flashy fights for those who already are novel fans.

Complaints about story and characters are nonsense though. The story is very well written, with a lot of depth and character nuances and development and whatever you could have judged by watching few episodes of anime is absolute surface level you which does not let you have a picture (and in general, this reason why its hard to adapt chinese webnovels into anime - they are damn long and interweaven worldbuilding bit by bit so you either just show most interesting events as fanservice of have to make 300 episode anime

It's all by incomprehensible and I can't believe that a professional company would do such an awful job. The light novel and animation translations are perfectly serviceable too, it's exclusively a problem with the live action.

It's a real shame because the production values and story liberties taken here seem really good.
