The fall in ratings is rather recent though. Up to the beginning of Sun and Moon, Pokemon still was a top 10 show (ratings decreased but that was true for other anime and tv in general), but not it completely disappeared from top 10, and doesn't make it even when several series are missing, so it's likely not even top 15 either. Changing it into something 100% focused on the new merchandising would just make sense with its current status.

That's my point though. It should become pure merchandising advertisement, so stop attempting to push its own original stuff and focus 100% on game content, considering how the original stuff doesn't seem to have any appeal anymore.

Chronicles wasn't an anime in japan, it was an OVA. It wasn't 'canceled', it got a single OVA and that OVA came out and that was it. DP Ash was too solid in his way of thinking, even when challenged by Paul's goals and way of thinking, he never budged on them.

I do like how he was able to still learn new shit because of Dawn and her contest/fresh trainer way of thinking.

The dynamic the duo had was fantastic. Brock could've been done better though, felt like a tack on.
