Fujishima knowing that his manga was going nowehere for 20 fucking years suddenly wrote a development to hastly justify why Keiichi and Belldandy never progressed through their relationship.

Fujishima revealed that the Heavens cast a spell on Keiichi that magically made him physically unable to ever truly want to advance with Belldandy no matter how much he loved her, ever since the contract was made, and this spell was known by Belldandy, Skull, etc.all along, Keiichi got magically castrated for 20 years with all goddess freeloading on his house knowing about it.

Sure that advanced the plot to that mess of manga finally ending with Keiichi and Belldandy getting married, with the spell being revoked, but the very act the spell was a thing pretty much negated the whole "pure" aspect of their relationship by turning into a case of a guy being magically neutered while the woman that supposedly loves him knowing full well, hiding from him all along.

That made some people mad, and also joke about that all NTR doujins are canon, with Belldandy playing Keiichi for a fool.

Except Keiichi let all that pass after he got to know the truth, showing he is a bitch through and though, Fujishima created that drama but didn't make Keiichi get really mad to produce even more drama.

Why did they make a Belldandy spinoff? Skuld or Urd would have been a better choice.

first of all: Holy shit, this manga is still running? I dropped this in 1998, once I realized that it would only ever have one joke. I guess if you liked it for the side characters, which were awesome, then you would have a reason to keep going.

But the thing was set up as a romance. so, what is the point of a romance that never gets concluded? I wish Fujishima had just ditched the fake romance and focused on slice of life hijinks. 20 years, with no plot development is either pure genius, or the collective will of a nation of ronery NEEts.
