Kazuki Takahashi (Yugioh)
pleb
Wouldn't Tsukune be a way better example? He goes from looking like generic useless harem protag to actually being attractive and competent.
true, but i was too lazy to make a comparison pic by myself
you forgot "pic unrelated"
and you forgot how to not post on a mobile phone, newfag
tsukune got so fucking hot through the years
no homo
Araki.
Fuck you.
unironically, my dude Isayama
Faces in Jojolion are horrid tho
>two decades of art and artist evolution for a story that goes nowhere and ends horribly
did he quit the industry? he even deleted his twitter
left
>actual contrast and values
right
>DUDE GREY LMAO
His anatomy might have improved (it's still shit) but his composition certainly didn't
Yasunori Mitsunaga from Kaibutsu oujo and Naqua den.
Left had soul, it conveys the emotions better with less extraneous detail
trying too hard
n-nani? Estrogen is hellva drug
late 3 to late 6 look the exact same
FKMT got worse!
Shame his art took a severe nosedive during MAR.
Art regression.
this
nah
the descend to madness was great
AMG wasn't a story, it was a waifu simulator.
It's believed that he did. There was a rumor last year that a Rosario to Vampire one-shot chapter was going to come out, but it never happened. Last anyone saw him was at some doujin convention in 2016, from what I've gathered reading a few Japanese blogs.
The guy was screwed by the editors so I wouldn't be surprised. It's so obvious Rosario to Vampire didn't come out as he wanted.
Could've been great if they dialed back the cliche bits.
user, he said art PROGRESSION.
What a terrible example to start a thread with. Left is light years better.
Snk is pretty good but the art is utter shit.
I really wish Kaneki kept his black hair after remembering who he was. Turning it back to white was such a shitty stupid thing to do.
funnily, that was also the moment the manga turned to shit imo. not because of him changing hair color again, but because with arima's death, everything felt so rushed afterwards
Anyone got a jitsu wa watashi wa comparison? Art really got better
Yabuki Kentaro
Am I the only who prefers the older art style? In all these cases the artists improve their skills over time so their new arts are of higher quality, but there is something missing. The old styles have more emotion and uniqueness, while the new arts all feel generic and cookie cutter to me.
Artist learned how to do detail and lighting. The art becoming more moe is ancillary.
I think you mean art regression, user.
I used to be a fan of ShindoL. This killed him for me.
maybe it's just your biased, but how can the new art feel "generic and less emotional" when the artists clearly improved in some areas like shading, composition or design in general? you need a better explanation user
What about regression??
Prison School began as fucking hot as fuck. The girls lips were simpling amazing.
Then ended with a much simpler style.
That is striking.
The old styles are full of rookie mistakes and oddities that make them stand out. Moe done right follows general proportions and "looks" (i.e. how the nose, mouth, etc looks from 3/4 view) that you can study to achieve a uniform look. It's just standing out because it doesn't have the uniformity of polished art.
When Ruan Jia first started making waves his style was considered kind of novel among digital artists and he enjoyed a lot of fame. But in a few years tons of chinese artists copied his style and now it's just considered the "chinese" style. Still looks good but doesn't stand out as much nowadays.
>being a contrarian faggot
Stop
Damn, the mofo didn't even have time to do any shading at all?
That's from loli to teen
You seem like a high IQ guy, so are you saying the new art in all of these examples are better than the old ones? (not that user btw)
RIP Takagi's ass
Late part 2/early 3 was best. Just the right level of homoeroticism. Now it's just up faggotry.
I'd include late 3 in there, but otherwise I definitely agree. The Jojo twinkification was a tragedy.
Imagine if DIO's son had been drawn in the same style as the father...
Is it wrong to prefer left Takagi over right?
This might be the only time my home state has appeared in anime, geography-wise.
youtube.com
I guess I wouldn't say better since it's all heavily stylzed anyway, but more like they're trying to figure out the styling on their own from a cursory glance rather than sitting down and really studying the moe style. Although some, like doesn't seem to try to shade a face correctly at all in the early style while he clearly studied the planes of the face in the later style. Tokyo Ghoul's artist definitely improved hand over fist, like night and day. He didn't even try with the shading before
>re-drawing the same shot in different chapters
It really is made for anime after all.
Let‘s go from unique to shitty moe blob
MY EYES!
It's crazy how much some artstyles change, but you barely notice it when you actually read it from start to finish.
The artist for Bastard!! is probably the best example I can think of for "improved over the years". Just look at the art of chapter 1 and the latest
should have compared early and late Wakatsuki instead
It's weird how towards the end of :re the manga's artwork sorta degraded in the case of just really going all scribbly and shit, while the artist's skill outside of doing the weekly manga still was improving
just from that picture, it looks like the artist got worse
Oh hey, I remember watching a flip dub of this anime I fapped to the black haired girl a few times even
Please man post all and restore my faith in humanity.
>chibification
here you go user
Tsugumomo's art is fucking amazing
it's not really that weird. by the time he was half done with :re ishida just didn't care anymore. he couldn't keep it up weekly but wanted the story to be done as fast as possible and the entire manga suffered because of it.
Kubo is the GOAT
There might be better pages to use but I can't be assed to check for more.
The art worsened simultaneously with the drop in writing quality and even the author himself admitted that the art was at its apex during volume 8. His health condition worsened and he had to fix lots of stuff in the tanks that looked unfinished in the magazine, simply because the weekly deadline kept him from giving his best. In Volume 12 for example, almost every single page had stuff added or fixed which was a very unnatural thing for him to do in the past.
Atsushi Ohkubo. First chapters of soul eater look like B. ICHI but in the later half his style starts looking really clean while retaining the cool factor.
Kumeta's art got a lot better through the course of SZS
>hating his magnum opus
I prefer the brown loli, but Emergence is pretty nice too.
I always liked his art more than his writing, so if Emergence is his magnum opus that's not surprising.
Honestly, my favorite thing he was involved with was the VN he did the art for. Captive Market, I think it was called.
As shitty of a fanfic as it is, it makes it hurt a little less.
Boichi's "Hotel"
Strong is beautiful.
Someone post Lynn
Don't tell me what to do
user comparisons of art progression are supposed to have similar pictures for comparison, i'm not sure you know
the guys look better but the women look worse
Takagi got sexier
>less annoying details
guy still doesnt know shit about body proportions. Look at those fucking legs sweet jesus.
Embrace the uguu
so these are from like the same chapter, yeah? maybe the one on the right is from the next one where it's changed clothes?
>muh soul
Fuck off, the old art style was an eyesore.
>what we could have
Left is far better
No it make sense, she has sass, the other is boringly cutesy.
>some frames are noticeably copied from the original and are blurrier
shaking my head
the redraws are better though
Great end

What a fucking beast.
I've got nothing against lolicons, but come the fuck on, man.
Top is from later in the manga
If Shindol quit the porn he would be make a fuckin edgymaster manga for sure!
More like TEEN vs. LOLI.
Chapter 43
Chapter 228
Even with all those improvements, it's missing the gumminess or elasticity of expression that was present in the rougher looking works. The newly constructed faces look well proportioned and detailed, but not terribly expressive, I guess.
Damn, I remember RtV had some great art in Season 2, but holy shit I did not remember its early art being that bad
well ok honestly it's not "bad", but it's like the mangaka was convinced he was drawing horror instead of the shitty romcom he was selling

Where the fuck are the redrawn volumes
Is he ever gonna work on another series?
Yes. But not the one we wanted.
animenewsnetwork.com
i miss this manga
anyone got some Ippo comparisons? Don't think the art has changed much after 1k chapters.
she became more moe
I hate moeblobs
I miss old Oda...
ONE
thoughts?
My dick cant lie. I prefer the older artstyle on this
i hope this will do
He was still generic as fuck.
In general the turn for the serious, felt blahhhhh. The story wasn't great and as technically better I liked it a lot less.
holy shit, left is so superior it's kinda baffling that he decided to go with right
Mob psycho dramatically increase his drawing quality
I prefer the old art, for most part. Both in terms of the actual art itself and the character designs.
He went from generic harem protagonist to generic shoujo manga ikemen.
ashita no joe
Danke. It has the same DB style change from rounded faces to more angular in dbz.
toriyama's dragon ball
I watched the dub version of this anime a few months ago and I was tempted to make an "everything wrong with" video for this fucking trash.
Sauce?
88-89 was peak Tori
>From '04 onward
Jesus Christ
Literally wrote and drew the manga on his deathbed (with the last 20 chapters or so being done while he was hospitalized) and died of liver cancer a couple of months after finishing it, yet managed to improve his art style dramatically through out the serialization, with second last half of the manga having some amazing looking pages with lots of details.
RIP Tadashi Kawashima, i will always remember his passion and steal will to finish his series before dying. He was having a race with death and won. Based.
he ruined the bodies, everyone became a twink with stick figure legs, even Takamura who is supposed to be a fucking tank.
His art peaked around Ippo vs Shimabukuro Iwao or so, then he slowly started fucking up their body proportions.
It's funny, because Kentaro Miura was working as an assistant on Ippo early on.
A panel vs a whole page
I wouldn't say that about Josuke
Alive was drawn by Adachitoka, the same artist of Noragami, who's still alive, who died was Kawashima Tadashi, the writer.
here
It's true, it's like Ippo dropped 5 weight classes in the span of 200 chapters. This is how his body looked in the fight with Shimabukuro vs how he looked in his fight with Woli.
His entire body size decreased several times, not just his legs. The same goes for Takamura.
>That ungodly sharp drop from 95's chadku to 04's monstrosity
Name a single artist with a worse involution.
91 Goku is peak Goku, from then on it's either downgrades or sidegrades.
94 is pretty good too since it's like 91 Goku just grew older.
Moefication is a mistake
Right is sexier.
Right has much more personality
2003 was his peak
So hot
Man, Lost Children arc has my favourite art style of any Mangaka, it's perfect.
>That early Luca
ONE literally went from a child's scribbles, to OK. Especially with MOB.
Usually these folks study other artists hence they pick up some traits from them and forget to add their own touch. Art mimicry i guess?
Honestly, I liked his art best right at the beginning. Black swordsman arc was the best Berserk has looked to me.
Not trying to shit on the mangaka, but it looks like he watched the anime and just switched the designs.
>He didn't even try with the shading before
Successful artists have better access to assistants. A lot of rookie or doujin art looks wonky became the mangaka doesn’t have an assistant or three to do inking or screentones
Art regression at its finest.
Urgh. The initial appearance looks so much better.
First chapter of Soil versus the last volume
I can't tell which is more horrifying
I forget how uncanny it is to compare the beginning of Jitsu wa to the late chapters
so shitty, and you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks user.
The only hentai ever made that reflects he truth of life.
Somebody post the progression for HxH.
Left
Other than his art becoming more pointy, I don't see much progression there.
post the Nihei one
Sauce on this? :^)
Is there one for Kaoru Mori? In Emma's run alone, she really improved.
Emergence by Shindol
I like the old one but probably only because I'm so used to the new style, the new one definitely looks more distinct comparitively but I do enjoy the old Takagi's extra ass.
Wow
why is her face like that
source?
This one is cheating, the one on the left is a weekly and the one on the right is a monthly release schedule. Of course you'll be capable of better art when you have more time to draw it. Nab a panel from when he was on the monthly schedule and compare it.
Like what?
Best example
inner moka is not a moeblob, she is a hostage of her abusive mother who cucked her and stole her boyfriend using her own body ostensibly to protect her
What the fuck
Tsukune's broship with jiangshi-triad guy was pretty cool
>those halcyon days in the winter of 2014 when Yea Forums was collectively watching KLK and reading the last chapters of RV while watching the snow fall
It was a kino era
You are a fag
Damn, that is a shift
I unironically love his old sketch-y style. Kinda reminds me of ONE. Its good, you can see he knows a lot about the techncalities of drawing. He just didn't care about drawing more than the essential
Vinland saga used to be weekly?
Flower Knight Dakini

Amazing
What happened to the blonde lad from the old cover?

I'm sorry but SnK's improved art is a lot more expressive and retains a unique look lmao

Who was this guy? fuck, I don't care, whatever..
>everyone gets turned into udon-noodle monsters
never got the appeal of this dude's art.
Closer to 6, since it started in 2013 and ended in 2014 half a year later
The last time I read farmland saga was 10 years ago and it was monthly
Or perspective. Somehow he forgot things closer to the viewer are supposed to appear bigger, not smaller.
Oh no, look its all broken and on the floor!
first feels grittier, I can get a better sense of damage to MC as apposed to the second which feels too polished
The art for Vanitas is even better.
>they didn't see the image where he revealed its all a work.
Like she was in a movie or some shit
>Chinese stealing something and claiming it as their own
Everytime
Man, where can I get paper that nice? Most of what I have tears with ink pens and is much smaller than what he's using.
Are there other examples of his art like layouts, action, spreads and stuff? It looks like it just went form generic mid-2000s shonen to generic 2010s seinen.
The art peaked in late part 3/early part 4 then regressed until its current state where Araki basically looks like he's parodying himself.
that
shut the fuck up, boomer.
this. modern jojo is still OK and is still fairly iconic but it's a far cry from the glory days
Cute? She was just born that way.
I should really finish that.
Left is cuter
Rikishi was fat
EvOlUtIOn
Kuroki's another example
dude's almost literally a different person
Miura's art is so fucking alien now. I hate it.
The expressions got kind of better but everything else got worse. I consider any artist that draws middle/high schoolers like elementary schoolers to be a hack.
His head got smaller though. If he shaved his beard his head would look super tiny
Based and wholesome.
I HURT MYSELF TODAY!
Seeing Douman's old porn art and his current style is an absolute fucking trip. From fairly generic 90s trash to awesome Mignola inspired art.
Left girl is really cute. They both are, but left is more my style.
I can get the point about the face, but the outfit is based on where she is.
If you want to compare armors/clothes, just go with Guts, since his is the same most time.
>Kuroki was an alcoholic assassin
weird
Does this count?
Sure why not. Wouldn't mind seeing more art progression for eroge artists.
Looked way better in 2004.
>generic mid-2000s VN art to generic 2010s VN art
I don't
I don't read Baki and even I know it's for dramatic effect
No DB and Toriyama?
We talking about DB, and not post 2012 Tori
Look again
That's not even his current artstyle
ONE will actually be a good artist by 2025.
>it's already been 8 years
It would be a zombie survival manga but replace the zombies with something cute and harmless. That's never been done before.
stop posting this you retard. one is a small zoomed in panel the other is a whole page
A classic.
Are you stealing paper from your school's printer? Go to the art supplies store.
I really like Berserk for this. It's not like Miura got better or worse, until the last feel issues when he started taking shortcuts with shading, but is rather more about portraying Guts at different ages as the story goes on. How many characters in manga are just completely static or undergo drastic costume redesign?
>skinny lanklet with clothes on
>bodybuilder when shirt comes off
everytime
Another artstyle killed by moe.
This is like
>I want to draw flamboyant gay dudes
>Gay dudes aren't popular I have to draw this 80s shonen matcho shit to make a living
>Yes finally Japans golden years are over the economy crashed
>I'll pitch to my editor gay dudes are the best and it will sell more
>Fuck yeah now I can draw gay dudes
>Continues to draw gayer and gayer dudes for 20 years.
Wanted to say it doesn't look too different but tummy girl is godly in middle two and absolute shit in the last one.
Unironically got worse.
>with arima's death, everything felt so rushed afterwards
Ishida got burned out and didn't give a shit at that point.
My sketch pads aren't for pens, would it be the multimedia ones?
Old wanpiss was cartoony and charming. Now he's trying to be more "realistic" and it clashes horribly with the cartoony aspect of his style. The first years were peak.
>Anime characters are white
This one is hard to tell since at first ONE was both worse artist and also didn't put effort at all.
I think Mob Psycho 100 comparison should be clearer, since it's actually a published manga.
Adults don't look that bad on the right, child is still horrifying though.
followed the trend of its time
based, picked up
Cheap paper always makes the ink bleed. You need to get paper specifically for inking. There's also a spray for it but I have no experience with it.
wow its far cry from the r+v artstyle, already looks like an art by oshimi
he can pull-off a legit horror manga if he wants to
How come this never gets talked about here? It's not even that gay.
I honestly really liked late Rave Master / early Fairy Tail art. Not sure how to feel about them becoming fatter.
Who are you quoting?
It's way past its prime. Nobody cares anymore. I think there were some shitposting going around when real Ciel appeared and people were theorizing that fake Ciel was actually girl all along.
In a book, Araki explains it’s because 80s macho men aren’t in vogue anymore hence he altered his style.
Even said manga authors need to evolve with the times as to not be dated.
Keep in mind, these manga are inspected by editors and they can and will criticise art for being ‘outdated’. It’s still a business after all.
Explain.
Kazuki Takahashi (Yu-Gi-Oh!)
And when I say drastic, I mean DRASTIC. If I can find a link to Transcend Game I will post it. Sera will make you want to nut.
Also Hirohiko Araki, even if it seems obvious. His art has finally entered a territory you could call classic.
I got interested again during the real Ciel thing but now the pacing is snail pace again. Way to kill the hype.
That's still lacking the final evolution.
It gets even worse when you add the never actually happening remake in.
melty blood was peak takeuchi
i get that, but that baka could still take a few breaks between volumes don't you think?
That's because Takeuchi wasn't the artist for the game. I thought that was common knowledge, art doesn't even look like him anyway.
He doesn't do the art for a lot of cards. Artists are sworn to secrecy (NDA). They're given no credit.
I'm talking about the manga, not the official card game. Not to be rude user but it's pretty apparent not all of them are Takahashi designs or artwork, but when he does do a card, he makes it look really good.
His current art is godlike
Syncing with Sera's superior consciousness!
should i read that?
Sure, just be aware of what you're getting into.
>what you're getting into
which is?
shit
slow release schedule and it doesn't stay cute for long, although that image tells that anyway.
it's because he was trying to tone down his art back down from straight Hentai.
His art back during Space Chef was terrible
The first book of bobobo-bo-BO-bobo looks like one punch man the webcomic and the final book looks like one punch man the manga
I’m not sure the artist ever got any better, get the feeling they just assigned him some assistants who knew how to draw
Left: girl has straighter eyes to discern age, actually has a bit of definition
Right: fucking noseless moeblob
How is this an improvement?
It's just a different style.
>From unique streetpunk style to shitty generic studio pierrot style
What a massive fucking downgrade.
Bleachniggers are mentally ill.
Old Takagi had more of an ass.
she has inverted ass now
>those bigger tiddies
soul vs soulless
>dude just add more scribbly lines lmao
>1st panel
My fucking sides.
left looks better
>actual drawing
>tracing over a photograph
It's good it just doesn't fit DB.
It's less of an evolution and more of a change.
Tori gets bored of doing the same style all the time.
You spelled 89 wrong
Remember that he purposefully starved himself to Auschwitz mode
meant for
he improved until part 3
then he got worse
I love jojo but part 8 is really hard to look at.
Left is better
Right is sterile modern dogshit
It's just Kaneko's style. you can see that it's improved technically
His early yugioh art was much better you tasteless niggers.
So the general arc is:
artist's early drawings are good but lack experience>artist develops skill and reach his peak>artist panders to lastest trends and loses his uniqueness>artists gets old and changes his style to draw more easily
Right?
Goddamn the right one is plain.
>be drawfag
>see this thread
how is it possible to be both motivated and discouraged at the same time?
he's got lazy lately. he uses way too much 3d models
Behold and despair!
Drawing rule number one: DONT COMPARE TO ARTISTS WHO DO THIS FOR DECADES
i know but its so hard not to
This is what happens when you have to meet weekly deadlines and simplify your artstyle. Truly a tragedy.
Early Cat's Eye is by far my favourite Hojo art. Th way it changes by the end of that series is the reason I never got into City Hunter to begin with.
I think this is a bit better to show the difference
It’s not even that good either. It sucks for the mangaka that her art skill is great and she’s shackled to this mediocre series for another year at least.
old legosi was dressing more like a hipster
woah
it was the school's uniform
the only more shocking example of artwork degradation than dragon half was when the gegege no kitaro artist got his right arm blown off by a grenade in wwii and had to start drawing with his left
oh yeah... I still miss it.
Araki's JoJo the obvious one.
Look at long running manga series like Detective Conan or Naruto or One Piece. Their style from first serialization and latest chapter are vastly different, especially the ones still continuing.
They're following the trend throughout the years. Naruto had a phase where the eyes became too big and turned into moeblob before Kishi adjusted himself and kinda found his own style.
>Tracing
Again I know it's easier to believe that Ikegami traces but he really actually draws that well.
Story matters more than art.
This one from the latest chapter was KINO tho. It gives me the old 5toubun vibes
story>paneling>art
I love me duck daughter
paneling is art related
Can I get a recommendation for the best Ikegami manga to read for a newcomer? Love the artstyle but dont know how to approach it
the way I see Ryo is that he has been burdened his entire life with such an immense and endlessly repeating symphony of suffering and guilt that the fake goofy sex maniac persona that he created to stay sane ended up getting buffed to literally transcendent levels enabling him to snap wooden roof beams and pierce concrete with the force of his erections, but when kaori died on their wedding day the pain and guilt was enough to pull his real personality back into control.
this trips of truth
you can have good paneling and bad art, just like you can have bad paneling with good art
I came here looking to see if someone had mentioned Jitsu Wa. I just finished it and went back to chapter 1 and I couldn't help but notice that the art had improved tremendously as time went on. It's funny though, I didn't notice at all while reading it.
jesus only now am I aware of how fucking melon-like their heads are
stylization is a hell of a drug
There isn't that much available in English
Sanctuary is absolutely excellent though so just read it. Freeman isn't great, unless you particularly want to look at Ikegami's art. Strain is better. There's a couple more that have been licensed or scanlated but I haven't read them
Akira Hiramoto
Never seen any Shigeru Mizuki pre WW2 art. Got any examples?
Thanks a lot mate, appreciate your reply
Did Toriyama's art like, change at all? Isn't it still almost exactly the same as it was in the beginning?
he draws skinny twinks now
Luffy actually got buff after Katakuri.
Kaoru Mori improved extremely during the run of Emma. Emma looks dull in Volume 1 but gorgeous in the final volume.
>unique streetpunk style
?
Kino
Absolutely nothing happened in the plot, let a nigga at least change his art
i dont like the trend of making the bangs transluscent with a soft brush
are you sure first panel he drawing like this isnt for comedy?
Luffy had muscle definition from the start though.
Yeah but he always looked skinny as fuck. Now he looms somewhat buff.
Made this comparison a few months ago of every first chapter of every volume of Ichigo marshmallow to show a friend how the art evolves then devolves in the latter volumes. It might just be the scan’s fault but the new artstyle is dogshit.
FINISH VAGABOND YOU SHIT
Sanctuary is probably his best drawn work in my opinion and also one of my favourite manga of all time. Strain is similar in feel but shorter and less well written. Offered is only 2 volumes but weird as fuck, you can tell it's from Kazuo Koike's insane rambling plot phase of his career. Kyouko is interesting and short.Spider-man is worth reading just because it's his first published work.
The one I want to read the most right now is Otokogumi, sounds interesting.
Kyoko sucks ass, it's by far his worst work I've read.
Composition is art related.
Paneling is a completely different skill.
13-25's artstyle was the best, his current artstyle looks boring.
Why do gay editors think they know what's "in vogue"?
Literally no one prefers Dragonball Super's skinny bitch saiyans to Toriyama's old art.
Kubo's old style was better. Everyone looks like a black person with narrow face and huge lips now.
that's only western
>had a stream where he made a new setup for 4 hours
The absolute loli god, you can see how he traces most of his art from his dolls, but as long as the detail stay this top tier it's a-okay.
He got better at the anatomy and detalization but holy shit his pseudo-realistic nip faces are so boring looking.
Am I retarded or do both of these look the same
>filename
You're just blind, it happens to the best of us it's fine.
Granted they're both mediocre tier at best but that's beside the point, there's a clear difference between the two.
Looks like a downgrade to me. Small/medium anime eyes + long face >>> ayy lmao eyes + round face. Actually you can say this about the most of "regressed" examples in the thread.
Moe is shit, retard.
Fuck off.
why do retards like you simply assume with tracing you instantly get the whole package? it will only help then with the basic linework etc. they still need to do all the other stuff like shading, adding details etc. just stop looking down on artists if you don't even know what you are talking about, you just jumped on the trace is bad bandwagon
based
I am glad that he hasn't falled into trying to be more like what most of anime looks like and still drawing more realistic looking characters.
literal definition of flanderization, at least visually
I know of it but I never got very far into it because it's shit.
Angel Densetsu
To Claymore
regression
you got tricked by the garbage scan quality
I actually remember reading early Black Cat and not finishing. And if To Love Ru reflects the artist's current style then I maintain my statement: it's a regression.
Not really any better. Just better assistants.
Usogui
Why is his Adam's apple on the side of his neck?
bakemonogatari
Ohma...
Is Ohgreat retarded?
It's not weird at all, Ishida was fucking exhausted but refused to take a break, he just kept going and going, which was ultimately detrimental to the art and story quality.
Left seems more in line with someone that likes to tease
I hope the anime art style doesn't suddenly change during Askeladd's last episodes.
Did you know that ShindoL himself retconned the entire thing into being a movie and the girl just being an actress, with a strip he released in his Patreon?
I love Washizu
Late nineties early noughties are the best, I find his late 2000s work overly detailed, and his current work far too moe looking.
Latest tsugumomo chapters look more berserk than the latest berserk chapters, this artist could get some real mainstream appeal if he stopped doing hentai, but I'm glad the man does what he loves.
Picked the fuck up.
This clearly shows 90's vs 00's
I absolutely love Air Gear
I should put in the effort to do comparisons between early and late Bastard, I don't think a difference like that exists in any single manga.
But I think it's fitting that I'm too lazy to do that, just like Harigawa is too lazy to draw more Bastard.
Oh! Great
Kill yourself.
Literally soul vs soulless
Wild and Horned Hermit had been going on for 10 years
fuck off
Wow, look! more stars in the background!
And everyone in Black Lagoon is an actor because Hiroe Rei made R of Black Lagoon.
You can't be this retarded, it's a simple make-believe scenerio that ShindoL feeds you because retards can't handle his shitty edgy stories. Plus, Mo drew that image, it says so right there.
Her early art was sketchy as fuck but I like the paneling a lot
The early art looks way better, especially the two bottom panels.
This is honestly pretty inspirational.
I want Agon to fuck me
I wish I kept that one for kentaro yabuki
i was talking about the massive gap in the middle of her face, thought it was obvious
you can feel the personality just fading out in the transition
Well, whatever
She's supposed to have a plain face so it's a bit featureless.
You could've even used early vs late Angel Densetsu for the sheer difference. Of course, his art continues to improve into Claymore.
the original story itself is make believe user, i don't know if you know but the original author can change it whatever way he wants. their word is god.
Late 7 and 8's is really annoying to look at.
this is more like Black Cat version & ToLoveRu version
Sanpei Shirato changed for thematic reasons. The art did not necessarily get better but became more suited to his stories.
the latest one looks more lively to me so it is an improvement.
Is Soil good?
same thing happened to Air Gear
Masanori Morita is a phenomenal artist. Freakishly detailed for a weekly series.
>staying true to his roots
based
The guy from Kokou no Hito is a good example of evolution.
Anyone have any alita? That's another staggering difference, even just within the original, let alone the jump to last order
both look like shit, Oda's art fucking sucks
The ending was also better
Thriller Bark Oda was his peak and never recovered
English release never?
>NTR'd by your mother
everytime
To be fair, have you seen featherweight fighters? They are fucking twinks
Mid-ippo boddies were impreessive and looked good, but i can see why the author decided to tone it down since they all looked like heavy weight manlets
Takamura slimering down is unforgivable tho
Undeniable improvement
Nostalgiafags are mentally ill
Not everyone have the same tolerance to keep up with an absolute trash series like tenge, boomer
It's dead user, give it up
My dude Murata's progression is amazing. Eyeshield 21 going from the beginning to where it was at the end of the manga is insane. I gotta give it a reread soon. Fantastic series.
not checking but if this thread isn't nothing but Aku no Hana
Urasawa improved a LOT.
>beloved classic vs gritty reboot
even his progression from chapter 1 to chapter 20~ of OPM is crazy. murata is on another level
I didn't care about inner moka one bit. Pink moka was the best girl.
Wrong image?
I kinda like his old rough art. It became better yes but also ugly in a bad way.
Yeah, I thought AD looked better than Claymore too.
Literally this.
He was such a fag in the beginning but holy jesus
In all honesty Soil is one of the best manga I ever read and more people should read it since Hox finished the scanlation.
This shit happens so slowly that if you read the thing from chapter 1, you'd not notice until you go back.
>from dog to brain from pinky and the brain
French only Monsieur.
I see it improved a lot
I need to reread it, Rosario+Vampire is one of my guilty pleasures
Feels like he's frozen in time
Lost children/conviction pretty much are my favourites.
His digital style improved as of 2019, but it still feels off
Disgusted, mayhaps?
He basically ruined all the girls and made them into same faced cow-tits fatties with no personality, but oh wait there was none to begin with...
>It was a kino era
I remember it like yesterday, and no. No it wasn't. There were good parts, which are the parts your remember probably, and the bad parts which always outnumber and almost spoil the good.
It looks better now
thanks for the thread lads, see you in the next one
is sgt frog good or did it just have a god tier dub? I remember watching like 20 episodes past hwere the dub ended and not feeling the same spark
94' Griffith was the last Griffith that actually looked like a handsome man without being overly effeminate. What's the deal with Miura giving him plumper and plumper lips from 1995 onwards? Nowadays he just looks like an ugly woman crossdressing.
How is he trying to be realistic? Everything is rounder and more cartoony now.
You're one of the guys who cried about "KLK spam" and therefore your opinion is wrong.
HRT is a helluva thing
thats a weird way to speller perfect user
