Watch Aikatsu! season 1 for an optimal experience. Season 2 if you wish to see more of Aoi (or any of the characters you like). Season 3-4 (aka Akari Gen) if you somehow like the new characters while the OG cast is relegated to supporting roles.

You can watch Friends if you like Gay girls doing cute gay things,and Stars as far as I'm aware is pretty similar to OGkatsu.I wouldn't kno though,I only watched 20 episodes and people in these threads say it's a trainwreck.

They're spin-off series, so they have a new set of characters and story. Stars is good because of Rola and other great characters. Friends is all right, but it's the weakest of the series. Kaguya (pic related), Maika, Karen and Hibiki are fun to watch though.

Also,forgot to mention:both of these series are standalone,so you don't have to watch the original series to understand them.At most you'll miss out on a couple of easter eggs and crossover episodes in stars.

OK you've convinced me I'm downloading everything now.
I'm going through Seto no Hanayome right now, but I will get started on Aikatsu next.
So basically my order is this
Aikatsu 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > Movie > Friends > Friends 2 > Stars > Stars Movie > Stars 2 > Parade (When it's out)

The aikatsu movie should actually be watched around episode 110 or so,it's the conclusion to Ichigo' arc and sets up Akari's arc a bit.You wouldn't really get the same emotional experience if you've watched it a the end of the series.As for the stars movi,chronologically you can watch it around episode 20 or so,but it's basically just an extra lenght episode that doesn't impact the story much.
