Watch Aikatsu! season 1 for an optimal experience. Season 2 if you wish to see more of Aoi (or any of the characters you like). Season 3-4 (aka Akari Gen) if you somehow like the new characters while the OG cast is relegated to supporting roles.

You can watch Friends if you like Gay girls doing cute gay things,and Stars as far as I'm aware is pretty similar to OGkatsu.I wouldn't kno though,I only watched 20 episodes and people in these threads say it's a trainwreck.

They're spin-off series, so they have a new set of characters and story. Stars is good because of Rola and other great characters. Friends is all right, but it's the weakest of the series. Kaguya (pic related), Maika, Karen and Hibiki are fun to watch though.

Also,forgot to mention:both of these series are standalone,so you don't have to watch the original series to understand them.At most you'll miss out on a couple of easter eggs and crossover episodes in stars.
