doesn't matter, he ded

why did he get built up again? didn't he have multiple chapters solely for his own backstory?

Well yeah, look at his hair.

araki changed his mind

This is the worst thing about jojo’s writing

it was literally the only way to avoid his land getting seized retard

You European son? Because I can tell you, the Native Americans did not ever have good things end up happening to them.

There was a theory that funny valentine used his ability to change him into an alternative version. The way he came from the under compartment during his meeting with Diego and valentine nearby was a big hint.

What I find weird is that Sandman is one of four people in one of Johnny's thought montages of dead allies along with actual allies like Wekapipo, Gyro, and Mountain Tim

All that focus on his tribe at the beginning leading to nothing, the absolute worst aspect of SBR. You can never get hooked on some premise/idea Araki introduces because it can literally disappear into thin air chapters later. It's really frustrating.

Araki sets up this ensemble cast in the beginning only for him to only focus on Johnny and Gyro.

What really gets me is that he introduces characters later on who are more important than Sandman and Pocoloco ever were.

I wanted him to become a hot pants-like ally to the gang, become friends with poco loco and at the end become partners after one of them wins the race, afterwards I hoped they would have created a native American inspired casino that went big like the ones in las vegas, poco is stinking rich and Sandman gets to secure the land of his ancestors and people, like to believe he goes and fights Valentine but if he were to to survive that I wouldn't be so sure with alt diego around

>Sandman's tribe call him Sandman in the first chapter
>"ackschually whitey I'm called Soundman"
Is Araki himself an unreliable narrator?

Maybe it's that whole alt universe doppelganger replacement but honestly either way it's fucking dumb he became a random mook.

I love JoJo more than almost any other manga, but fuck Araki's shit writting, a friend recently convinced me to read all of Shingeki no Kyojin and I was absolutely shocked by the fact that Isayama put clues all over the place and they actually led places instead of being absolutely forgotten.
I hope Araki doesn't butcher JoJolion in this regard, there is way too much shit to explain before the finale drops the next millenia.

That was probably an alternate universe Sandman who was actually called Soundman. Valentine most likely sent the original Sandman to another universe.

Reading Jojo and then reading a manga with actual foreshadowing and other meaningful things is truly something.

Do you think he was going to be made a villain or a jojo bro

Not him, but I'd say he was either gonna be a recurrent ally like Hot Pantsu or a tragic villain like Wekapipo.
Also, fuck Araki for giving Hot Pants such a shit ending.

As fast as a horse ? Really ? wtf

Your toes and ankle explode

I was really hoping it would be revealed that he's using his Stand to propel himself or something. Everybody else is using some sort of mode of transportation be it horses, camels or automobiles, everything is a-go.

Imagine the smell...

>I hope Araki doesn't butcher JoJolion in this regard
He already has

Given Soundman has a sound-based Stand, I'd say it's logical to think Sandman has a sand-based Stand that helps him run faster without fucking up his legs-feet.

I'm not so mad about the changes made to Soft&Wet since I already saw that comming, my next prediction is Born This Way becoming a manual Stand since there's no way Kyo will be relevant again if she has a designated automatic jobber villain Stand.

>Born This Way gets a manual sub-ability, similar to JJL Killer Queen's Sheer Heart Attack
>Born To Be Wild

>I'd say it's logical to think Sandman has a sand-based Stand that helps him run faster without fucking up his legs-feet.
It would make complete sense but it was never mentioned or delved into cus Araki. It would also be great if it affected his motivations, like thinking of it as a gift to aid his people or something. JoJo characters are so rarely shown to have an opinion regarding their Stands...

Nigga could run faster than horses and had a Stand. Why not just fight the white man?

>introduce character that's more likable than Johnny and has better or more interesting motivations
>have him job like a retard and die horribly
>repeat
SBR in a nutshell

>Sandman has a sand-based Stand

>introduce character that's more likable than Johnny and has better or more interesting motivations
>have him job like a retard and die horribly
>repeat
not counting Diego, who?

Johnny is interesting because he's selfish and seems to often question if other people are more deserving them him.
I mean he was -this- close to reversing Valentine's infinite rotation because he thought he was a more righteous man than him.

So Johnny is Giorno done right?

it's repeatedly shown throughout that most Stand users are packing revolvers, and as many people die getting shot as they do through Stands if not more.

A full military invasion would murder his tribe let alone him.

Yeah, and one panel is the extent we see of it.

No, Gappy is Giorno done right.

Sand man? More like tesco value Koichi, very disapointing

So, do you think the sand's hand will appear in anime?

I know it'd have to be called NiJo's Bizzare Adventure but nicholas should have been the one to survive

Attached: nick.png (320x320, 212K)

>Was he retarded?
Yes, but only for licking US government boots

>Built up to being a good guy who wants to save his tribe
>Shows no open hostility towards Johnny and Gyro but a few passing compliments
>Suddenly he's willing to work with the white man Valentine to assassinate Johnny and Gyro
I don't fucking believe that that's the same Sandman, not with that panel where he comes out of a broken door on the ground. Smells like Araki being a shit writer

I don't see why not, the adaptations are extremely loyal to the source material and ignore inconsistencies. Not that Sandman having a sand-based stand is an inconsistency, if Soundman is from an alternate dimension.

holy shit you're right. Why the fuck isn't it Hot Pants?

Attached: sbr_v22_174.png (821x1399, 279K)

Even if you have an okayish Stand you can't just go wild and start wrecking shit, you'd get shot down in no time.

Wekapipo, Hot Pants, Sandman, Gyro.
Johnny's development is great but his endgame was pretty damn lame.

This shit's Foo Fighters all over again.

Not like it would have mattered anyway, somebody would have just come along later and either forced them off with guns and cannons or just eminent domain'd the land

>Araki hates women
Makes sense a lot of sense.

Sandman's ONLY motivation is to save his tribe. The President offered him a much easier and earlier deal to do so, and not to mention the President is the fucking President which makes him a valuable ally.
Johnny and Gyro are nothing to Sandman, just two more random white dudes in the race.

In what way? And don't tell me because he's randomly ruthless with his enemies for no good reason. Gappy is never really implied to be a morally ambiguous character, a good half the story so far was just him trying to figure out who he actually was.

>trusting the President of the same country that is taking your land away
Either Sandman is retarded or Valentine replaced him with Soundman

Attached: d20f477b2b29280.png (1024x576, 5K)

Again it's a better deal than attempting to win a race and getting absolutely -nothing- if you lose.

>JoJo characters are so rarely shown to have an opinion regarding their Stands.

I agree. I guess a part of it comes from the fact that this is just an extension of themselves and so they don't have terribly complex things to say, like someone doesn't have terribly complex things to say about their arms or their great biceps (here's looking at you, user, I know you've been lifting) but I do wish a few people got into that a little more.

>make wild west JoJo that's a reboot with tons of reference characters
>no Hol Horse stand-in

Eh, a person who doesn’t have a real identity or sense of self within a society will generally be less empathetic to new people unless shown otherwise, especially if those people are /fa/ weirdos trying to kill them with magic ghosts.

No doubt it was a better deal but trusting Valentine was still a dumb reason from Sandman's view. Why would you trust the same person who is supporting your homeland being taken away

>was already his
Not according to the white man, which is literally the only thing that matters in that setting.
Odds are even if Sandman won and bought the land, the US would just invade and conquer the land in a few years.

Why did Wekapipo turn though? Valentine offered him and his sister a stable life in the US away from the asshole nobles.
Gyro pretty much can’t do anything to help his sister other than keeping her blind and alone in some shithole

>JoJo characters are so rarely shown to have an opinion regarding their Stands...
Vanilla Ice had what I would consider one of the top 5 strongest Stands in the series (I think it's even better than DIO's) and he didn't even seem to care.

That is a way to look at it, but another way to see it is that he obviously has the most power to make that stop happening.

yeah, that's the thing, sandman and soundman are two diferent guys

Attached: 1525870489684.png (193x197, 47K)

>Araki offscreen Sandman because he can’t think of a sand-related music reference

What Norisuke said regarding Stands being something so personal to you that you can't/shouldn't bring it up in regular conversations even with your family speaks a lot about them.
In parts 3 and 4 everyone's like "YO DUDE LOOK AT THIS COOL POWER I GOT" while in part 8 everyone's much more reserver, talking about your Stand is something like talking about your feelings.

That is totally understandable on a general scope, but it would be nice if it was sprinkled here and there, especially in certain contexts. Like Purple Haze being the manifestation of Fugo's worst aspects, surely that would affect the person somehow, it's an interesting concept, but then he got written out lmao.

At first I thought it was because he remembered that The Fool exists and its design is already partially tribal inspired, but then I realized In a Silent Way is literally just Echoes act 2. Also not like he ever shied away from copying his previous stands...

>"I was never expecting to die on a bed. I'm a cowboy. All I wanted was a place to come home to... just a place to return to after my journeys..."
Mountain Tim didn't deserve it

Attached: MountainTim.png (602x779, 974K)

When I first read SBR I really thought he was gonna be a part of the 'main team', he was kind of set up to be just that. But no, just another minor villain paired with Diego just so that we could have more Diego moments. Araki did him very wrong.

based character

I think part 8 is a more realistic depiction of what a world of stands would be like too. If I had a stand and I suspected many of the people I know also have them, I'm not going to tip my hand unless absolutely necessary.

>No scene where Johnny uses the spin on his wheelchair

pretty much what it is. also having powers that aren't punishable by law enforcement would mean showing stands to each other is like "here is how I can be beaten please dominate my life. "

>We never saw Sandman's sister again
What a waste

All the land in the United States was originally the Native Americans', but that sure as shit didn't stop Uncle Sam and thousands of indifferent independent settlers from fucking them over.

Having a government-backed deed to the land that he purchased (compared to lands 'given' temporarily to Indians) would be an incredible boon for any Native American in that time period.

He was a pedo.

>no getting perfect wheelchair rotation so he can shoot a double golden rectangle

>cue in Josuke literally disintegrating a dude's face in the middle of the street and nobody cares

So is Mr.Steel

Mr Steel treated her more like a daughter.

But Mr. Steel is the ultimate chad, he marries Lucy to save her from working as a prostitute and even tells her she can find love and divorce him at anytime. Don't slander Mr. Steel

So, what will SBR Opening's gimmick will be?

Was Johnny aware HP had died by this point?

I think he learns that on the next page or so when Valentine gives him her spray to heal his horse and Lucy

Valentine takes us into a universe where the OP is Old Town Road and Lil Naz X is a protagonist.

He shouldn't have gotten de-paralyzed in the end imo.

Is that spray her stand or not?
Why could it not getting destroyed after she dead?

Every rule of stands has exceptions.

I imagine her Stand was like Anubis and was just a real physical object

SBR Stands are weird and usually break the rules.

Yeah, when bad writing demands it.

refer to

literally the first chapter is about him

araki isn't a good writer

Men, part 7 has a lot of problems who people tend to ignore

He's a mediocre writer with a strong sense of setting, background and hidden subtleties. I wouldn't mind playing a Tabletop Game with him as a GM.

This, wish people looked at it with more sober eyes, instead of blindly sucking it off at every turn

>Mr. Sandman

The corpse parts
Stands getting nerfed/made boring
Plotholes
Multiverse bullshit

The early boring arcs, hot pants death and her backstory

Legitimate criticism, even though I don’t agree with it.

It's not the same sandman, it's an alternate dimension sandman brought by Valentine.
