i suggest a torrent of the original english broadcast of DBZ which includes the first 2~ seasons dubbed by ocean, and then followed by the original funimation dub with Bruce Faulconers music.

if you're too lazy to do it, better to just watch it in japanese. 90% of modern internet links for watching it in english online have been replaced by the second funimation dub "remaster", which doesn't include bruce faulconers music, nor the old iconic ocean dubbed scenes.

You do know that Ocean dub never stopped right? Canada pretty much used their own dub. Something having to do with needing to have so much Canadian produced shows on tv, and an in country dub counts as it being produced in country.

well outside of canada, the ocean dub ended broadcast around the time Goku fights Jeice and Burter on Namek, then picked up by Funimation's dub. I think this change is kind of necessary, both for a new soundtrack via Bruce Faulconer which Ocean enjoyed reusing the same songs a little too much, and also for a semblance of character development since realistically, not many 'important' events actually happen from raditz showing up, to the defeat of cell. The original Funimation dub started as sound-alikes trying to mimic the Ocean dub actors, and over time the modern voice actors started to come into their characters as their own, and this kinda works with how the character art changes across the seasons. Ocean Vegeta has a higher pitched voice and seems 'younger' than Funimation Vegeta later on down the line, who has a deeper voice.

Taking your clip as example, it seems weird to see Vegeta's Ocean dub with the Buu-saga artstyle. It's a nice performance, and Vegeta's ocean voice will always have a special place in my heart, but the original funimation dub really unintentionally made it seem like the characters were growing and getting more serious when they eased their own natural voices in past their mimicry of continuing ocean. This aspect is also missing in the funimation remaster second dub, where the characters sound like they do at the end of the buu saga, and gohan actually literally sounds like a girl.

Canada's been weird with anime, Sailor Moon never aired there and they never saw until recently.

I mean the US dub I don't think would really be called normal. They put that whole saved by the bell ascetic on it. I grew up with that stuff though so it does bring some nostalgia hearing the weird episode recaps with saved by the bell shapes bouncing around, and saying the moral of the episode when there was never a moral, they just inserted one because saved by the bell always had a moral.

DBS funi dub did a joke by having ocean vegeta in that one arc where they fought the purple vegeta.

Super filler was a little too clunky for me. I'd say that pre cell games filler was the best implemented. Just everyone doing down time trying to enjoy what could be their final days. In super "oh boy Spritle and Chim-Chim got in the trunk of the mach 5 and went to a new planet, what nonsense will those two get into".

What super really needs as filler is Bulma traveling to other planets to set up trade agreements and shit to provide them with fine capsule corporation products
As far as we have seen no other planet has miniaturization tech and she could make a fucking killing exploiting the intergalactic market

She should also see if her old clothes still fit from dragonball. Also wonder whatever happened with that shrinking watch technology she was working on. Feel like she'd have learned how to turn that into a weapon by this point.
