The first cour starts out strong but quickly goes downhill during the American Idol arc in the latter half. Many people dropped a show that not many on Yea Forums were watching in the first place. Something something netflix bad, something something hack watanabe something something yurishit. The second cour is pretty strong overall so far though, so I'd say it's worth watching. If you're a Bebop superfan it's a no-brainer either way, just for all the worldbuilding hints about Mars, Alba City, etc. Made me wanna go watch the ol' friend again to remind myself how it all fits together.

Honestly carole and tuesday is one of the rare anime i actually enjoy/enjoyed watching, it definetely has some flaws but honestly compared to other media it’s almost laughable. The animation, especially dance scenes/where they rotoscoped, is absolutely amazing, and as an animation student i literaly feel so inspired after watching said animation. I almost forgot that a series could have this kind of quality.

And i love how it has this style somewhere inbetween anime and semi-realism, obviously the two main characters are a bit more animesque because of their age, but besides the eyes almost all of the adult characters have such pleasing and unique designs (not to say that carole and tuesday don’t). I’m also not usually a ‘slice of life’ fan, but the setting of this story really makes this stand out, and unfortunately it probably wouldn’t have even caught my attention if it was set in a normall 2000-something earth setting.

I've been hearing this a lot about a bunch of anime lately, people complaining that "they're boring" where did all of this shit come from all of a sudden? Plot/exposition heavy shows have been around forever, it's not all battle shonen.

Also it’s ability to literaly make me cry at the end of every fucking episode, i’m a pretty sensitive person but it’s been forever since an anime got that kind of reaction from me, usually it’s because of poor timing or the wrong kind of music backing up the wrong scenes, or just the characters not being believeable in their emotion. It also helps that none of the characters have this ridiculously high pitched anime voice that they often give to female characters (only one character speaks like this and it is given a reason and it’s even adressed by other characters). Honestly everything that drove me away from anime (besides the fans ofcourse) is absent here, or at the very least extremely downplayed.

This really is a show where it’s main goal is to evoke emotion, to allow you to immerse yourself completely and one that you can enjoy watching all the way through. I don’t know where the story is headed but i do hope i get to have this feeling until it’s end. I’m so glad i started watching this series, and i highly recommend it to anyone!!

The tone of the show is shit. It can't decide whether it wants to be serious or comedy and it'd be one thing if it did both well but its desire to be comedic is dragging down its attempts to be serious with how they keep fucking up the plot with dumb gags to shift things in new directions that they then treat seriously and forget about a few episodes later, like Cybelle harassing Carole which should've gotten far more attention during that arc than it did, with everything just being totally forgotten after the arrest. They just wanted to go out of their way to set them up as the underdogs again by giving Carole an injury before the performance.
Also I was liking the music at the start but all the best songs came in early on and most of the music ended up being mediocre, and in particular the repetitiveness of the lyrics is outright fucking aggravating. It'd be one thing if it was just Angela having boring repetitive lyrics as a send up of pop music since she's the pop star with AI-made music, but C&T have the exact same problem. And it's even worse when everyone in-universe can't stop crying about how amazing they all are.
