Only person who got affected by this was Suzaku who became catatonic, Lelouch was not affected at all & immediately stole Gawain. Episode 25 had V.V. remotely triggering similar trap intended for intruders to delay Lelouch & C.C. from catching up with V.V. which allowed Lelouch to see more of C.C.'s memories.

It was explained early on that Geass grows in power each time its used and it becoming permanently was permanently foreshadowed with C.C. telling Lelouch that he uses his Geass too often in E21 and Lelouch experiencing pain his Geass eye at the start of E22 while attempting to Geass noble beating on Elevens & finally at the meeting with Euphy shortly before the "kill all Japanese".

tl;dr: V.V. transporting Lelouch & co to Kamine had nothing to do with Lelouch's Geass evolving, that was going to happen anyway.

When his identity is revealed Lelouch says that their goals were aligned, its Kallen's own shock at Lelouch identity on top of Suzaku's speech that makes her leave. She could have tried to get Suzaku while he & Lelouch had their Mexican standoff but didn't. While its debatable whether or not that would have worked she did not even try, and that's what ultimately ended up sealing the nail on Black Rebellion's coffin.

As far as Lelouch knew Kallen was fanatically loyal to Zero and outside of keeping his secret he had done nothing to betray that trust. Entire point of trusting Zero was caring about the results he brought instead of who was behind the mask. Kallen already knew Zero was not Japanese and was willing to protect that identity at Kyoto, so her getting paralyzed over it at Kamine was unexpected betrayal. If we really are nitpicking about trust being a two-way street, argument could be made that Kallen betrayed Zero's trust at Kyoto by revealing that CC wasn't real Zero & potentially ruining his plan. Point being that Kallen should have trusted Zero at Kamine like before but let her own preconceptions screw that. She wasn't the only one who fucked up, but her inaction did ultimately cost them victory slim chances at that point or not.

Lelouch was selfish as fuck, but when he loved someone he was willing to give up his own goals, Euphy being good example before it went wrong. Difference is that Lelouch did not desire romantic relationship with Kallen like she did with him. And that's why her inability to deal with real instead of idealization is shitty behavior.
