Why don't they make anime as memorable as Clannad, k-on, code geass et al anymore? Were the mid 2000s the end of anime?

1. The brains behind Clannad died of a heart condition
2. K-on was really mediocre and has been thoroughly surpassed dozens of times since
3. There have been many Geass-like anime such as Valvrave

They haven't had the same effect on the fabric of anime as those earlier works.

So what? There have been more influential anime created in this decade, and those 3 you listed were less influential than other anime before it.

Lol, really? Except for madoka we always go back to mid 2000s anime to discuss.
Care to post some examples?

You're just a retard, fuck off.

Attached: 81k.jpg (429x606, 61K)

The anime isn't really at fault aside from moeshitters but the whole anime fanbase as a whole has become a lot more diverse in opinions so it's harder to get everyone behind something than it was 10 or so years back. The only recent thing that came anywhere near close was franxx.

AoTD for the '00s came out in 2009,anime peaked in the mid 2000s my arse

franxx was shit shut up

Yeah it was utter shit but I'm talking about the impact it had.

I was satisfied with it, the fighting was alright.
Aside from the after-battle filler and the "DURRLING!" bs, it was okay. The ending was memorable. I give it 6.5-7/10

watch more anime

Tell me what to watch. I'm always after recommendations

Nip only like isekai shit now.

Fanservicr

So was Geass, we weren't talking about good anime. We were talking about memorable anime. The easiest way to be memorable is to make everyone watching mad.

>Derivative romance, SOL and mech anime
>Influential

You forgot Death Note.

because most people started watching anime in that era. Those aren't good anime, there isn't any reason in particular for them to be memorable.

>t-there isn't any reason for them to be memorable

Get a load of this newfag. Code Geass had like every episode be memorable. The whole OP instantly comes to your ear after the first second.

Your opinion is worthless.

Say what you want about Isekai shit but it's produced a few memorable shows.

people will forget Code gay ass way before they forget Sword fart online, or those maids from Re:zero

>people will forget code geass before shit art online
Can you say "delusional?"

user not everyone's faggot's basement

I don't even like Sword Shart my man.

It's an educated opinion that the normie masses liked it more than Code geass.

going by numbers even backs it up. The Sword art movie made like what 2 billion yen? and the entire code geass franchise made like 700 million yen (according to wikipedia)

Rezero was 3 years ago

only if it's your first anime

Modern Internet can't enjoy things "unironically" so no sincere memorable character would last.

Attached: Komaeda_Objection_sprite.png (288x401, 86K)

>user not everyone is faggot is basement

The first 's is a contraction the second is a possessive ESL kun

Because not a single 2010s show is going to be among your first series, user.

>K-on was really mediocre and has been thoroughly surpassed dozens of times since
Like what? I've not seen anything that surpasses kon

>user not everyone is faggot's basement
>is faggot's basement

Attached: 001.png (396x310, 260K)

Here's your (You), even Daisuke is less ESL than this

>expecting people to know about a shitty e-celeb

Franxx wasn't even genuine hype. It was just Yea Forums unconsciously wanting it to be as much of a shitstorm as Geass or OreImo and pushing it for the sake of reliving old board days.

You became a jaded boomer, that's all.

Understand the meaning of memorable. Something is only memorable if it's remembered years after it was made. If there are still some 2010s anime that will be talked about in 2020 as great then then they can be called memorable.

YuYuShiki

This. Franxx was an artifical meme.

CG is a trainwreck

Why do you think we like it?

You're on drugs. People barely talk about re zero(and that show isnt even that old anymore) and SAO is only brought up as the beggining of the decline in anime.

In 10 or so years the only isekai that will be recommended to people will be Konosuba

No more plot driven originals that keep you on the edge of your seat.
It seriously feels like most of them are just made by committee to be as safe and bland as possible, with absolutely no passion and talent behind them (see recent shit produced by Aniplex like Aldnoah, Re: Creators, Franxx). Basically just commercials for the OP/ED singles.

>No more plot driven originals that keep you on the edge of your seat.
Rezero wasn't original but it was interesting. There's also Madoka but that's about it if we're talking about shows that "keep you on the edge of your seat".

>Were the mid 2000s the end of anime?
No but it was the end of Yea Forums
Heyoooo

Yeah but Meduka was almost 9 years ago. Not that it wasn't also pretty much prepackaged to be successful, but the team behind it worked really well.
Re: Zero has a very interesting premise but the fact that it's an unfinished WN/LN adaption (for now at least) holds it back for me. Haven't read the source material so I don't know how it's handling all the mystery boxes and characters.

Your just old now. Anime in the 2010s has the same effect on zoomers that those anime had on you.

Only K-on was somewhat influential, but did not actually start moe as the layman would think.

Only popular with moefags and not to mention people moved on. But is was not the case with fate or cg for example. They still got movies even after a fucking decade.

pick someshit randomly

Attached: all of the slashaslash recommended anime charts.jpg (3380x3622, 2.91M)

Older anime is better man. It is clear fact. The whole anime industry is in stale.

>because most people started watching anime in that era. Those aren't good anime, there isn't any reason in particular for them to be memorable.
I did see my first anime(plural) mid 2000s, but I only seen Geass Years later after it aired, and it was memorable.

Name 2010s hits that are as good as TTGL and Code Geass then.

He was refferring to a Jewtuber

I remember a fair amount of shows like Franxx actually, regardless of it's criticism.
CG had similar criticism too.

What's memorable about it though? It's not a good anime, it doesn't try anything new, it's just another Sunrise mecha anime. It's only "memorable" because of the community, it has nothing to do with the anime itself

You're looking at what's popular with Western normalfags on social media instead the people who matter; anime fans in Japan.

Because now they are competing with FGO

I live in Japan and Franxx is nowhere to be found, nothing in comparison to true well liked anime like PreCure, Idolmaster or even Shin-chan.

Idolshit is bigger in Japan yes.
Idolshit is bigger than CG, etc in Japan too.
Japan has shit taste.

but we have had memorable ones

2011
Madoka

2012
SAO

2013
Titans

2014 debatable
no game no life/tokyo ghoul

2015
one punch man

2016
your name/konosuba/kabaneri

2017
made in abyss

2018 debatable
slime/ franx

Who the fuck remembers slime? And Franxx is only memorable for how hard it shat the bed.

Name 5 great anime from 2005.

rent free seething veg fag cope more

>triggerfag is Yea Forumsedditor

Not even Trigger gives a shit about Franxx

Not VEGfag at all but it was certainly better and arguable more memorable than these two. AOTY 2018 was easily Devilman, it was very memorable too.

I hope you aren't being sincere OP.

Attached: 1541958365917.jpg (600x638, 100K)

VEG and Franxx were both attempts at making
a hit without any real inspiration in it.

That's probably just him being 18 at most showing.

Watch little girl anime
Take the 女児アニメ pill, user.

soranews24.com/2019/01/31/childrens-anime-precure-features-magical-girl-actually-giving-birth-to-a-child-in-series-finale/

This was from early this year. It's not forgettable, that's for sure. I bet Mr. Code Gayass never gave birth on screen!

Attached: Have Babies Precure.jpg (849x478, 81K)

>accuses someone of being a newfag
>acts like a newfag
nigger you what. the only reason it gets stuck In your head is if you've only watched it as your only anime you stupid faggot. hell even the most normie of anime have themes as catchy if not more. neck yourself newfag.

>franxx
>impact
From what dimension to you hail from?

Attached: 1465884542975.png (358x408, 228K)

Code geass was shit though. Stupid and shallow writing for retards who think they are smart. I guess that fits Yea Forums pretty well though

I wasn't here for CG because I found this site in 2011 but Franxx is definitely the biggest shitstorm i've seen on this board, the obvious difference between the two is that CG is very satisfying.

>He wasn't here for franxx threads

It was stupid but it wasn't shallow. It was very driven.

Franxx is just another show, not something iconic or particularly memorable.

Not that user, but I remember franxx threads and they died out immediately after the show ended. It wasn't that big and it's main attraction was baiting the shippers.

>shitposting on a western site = impact
Please tell me you're not serious.

Attached: 1470538063299.jpg (387x461, 24K)

It's okay to say 2014 had literally nothing.

Shirobako.

Kill La Kill was bigger but the mods started forcing stickies so that hypeposting didn't leak to the rest of the board but yeah franxx is the only show that had air day threads hit 2k posts, crush the board with threads and jump to other boards like /pol/ Yea Forums Yea Forums or Yea Forums. Some shows like RE:Zero, Samurai Flamenco, Valvrave or Cross Ange had episodic peaks of shitposting but nothing that lasted throught the entire thing.

Code Gayass had the plot twist equivalent to this in a third of the episodes.

The greatest anime ever created, Prism Paradise.

Attached: 1563227654048.jpg (1920x1080, 258K)

>many Geass-like animes

Like what? You named one but I'm interested in others. I liked Geass. Same with Deathnote.

Who gives a shit about anime fans in Japan? They are a small portion of the anime fanbase and the rest of the world dwarfs them.

I still remember Kemono Friends.

>Who gives a shit about anime fans in Japan?
The creators of japanese animation. The west is pretty damn irrelevant compared to Japan and China.

Attached: 1478713503842.jpg (655x600, 90K)

> DitF wasn't popular

instagram.com/p/Bf655uvFf0T/

Bokusatsu Tenshin Dokoro Chan
Mushishi
Ichigo Mashimaro
Eureka Seven
Pani Poni Dash

user, 95% of anime is shallow and stupid.

They do, you're just too old and Yea Forums isn't what it used to be. You will never enjoy anime again.

gochiusa easily surpasses k-on

No they don't quality is down and a bunch of random shit stories are now published and turned into anime.
Anyone can still enjoy anime they just need to watch older ones.

hugtto precure was an abomination, I can't believe you retards defended that piece of shit

>3. There have been many Geass-like anime such as Valvrave
Aping another anime doesn't make it memorable

Okay the real reason is the huge influx of mediocre and low IQ people into the fanbase.
Children always got into anime but it was usually the more technically gifted or curious ones, now it's extremely easy to get into and thus the total IQ of the fanbase dropped.
I've experienced the same thing across a few different things over the years.

Always, without fail, if a cultural phenomena that was on the fringes becomes accepted, it gets diluted for the masses.

Either you aren't hearing about quality anime because it's getting buried underneath the recommendations of shit ones (due to said fans) or the people making anime look at trends for the new "fans" and make (shit) stories for them.
Same thing that happened to video games, basically.

>Yea Forums pretending that Franxx isn't popular

You guys were fucking obsessed with it when it aired, spamming the board with countless 500++ threads.

Nobody said it wasn't popular.
It's just not a good anime and it wasn't even the most popular of its season despite what spammers on Yea Forums say myanimelist.net/anime/season/2018/winter.

Attached: 1551828345620.jpg (1787x1000, 210K)

Franxx threads ended the second the show did.

Guilty Crown is a shameless ripoff, I also remember a short manga about a Lelouch looking motherfucker who discovered that he could hypnotize people by playing with lights and saying the right thing at the right time so he had kids kamikazeing themselves for him and quickly became a terrorist. It was one of those mangas that didn't have an official English title.

See

Kim K posted about Franxx. I guess that counts as "impact".

Nah they hate Isekai now.

>being snatched away from your desk job
>going into to a world where you get all the bitches and have magical powers
What's there not to like?

Wish fulfillment trash at it's finest.

Yeah, you're coping with your shitty life. That's the point user.

This was when anime peaked

Attached: The Best anime of all time.jpg (600x600, 102K)

s-shut up

What is
Samurai Flamenco
Kill La Kill
Parasyte
Ping Pong the Animation

Eat a dick OP

shit taste

>Samurai Flamenco
Never heard of it.
>Kill La Kill
Shonenshit.
>Parasyte
Already forgotten.
>Ping Pong the Animation
Gay. Irrelevant.

Just you wait until trigger releases that furshit they are brewing

>that furshit they are brewing
Oh god jesus what in the world?

I don't know what the fuck OP is talking about, considering Non Non Biyori season 3 is upcoming.

Attached: natsumipresents.jpg (716x784, 271K)

This is the most normalfag post I've seen on Yea Forums in a long time.

Attached: tsumugiv.jpg (457x686, 174K)

He even reddit-spaced it.

Attached: laughingmomo.gif (256x285, 81K)

Most of those are shit. Madoka is nice though.

Yeah, Madoka is the only good anime there.

VEG is unironically already more impactful than your seasonal picks. S e e t h e.

Attached: 1520821525489.gif (480x270, 1.59M)

The 2010s have had plenty of memorable anime.

Attached: 1545412809196.jpg (3240x3240, 3.5M)

It's a nice change of pace for this place, sick of the same 3x3's and pseudo-philosophical "discussions"

>All that moeshit
fuck off, I'm not even disagreeing with your point, just don't try and say moeshit is good

...

>I'm very new here as well as under the age of 18
We can tell.

Aaannd AOTD goes to... Bioretto-chan!
