Casca will have to work through her trauma slowly, but it's a world of improvement from Elaine's child-like mentality. Also, she still wants Guts.

Definitely this. Griffith's tells us on the hill of swords that his new body is "free" of his old weakness, his attachment to his old comrades, namely Guts. But the babby soul floating around his body is undoing that, symbolised through making his frozen heart beat.
