i don't spend a lot of time in the thread beyond just a quick skim so as not to get spoiled. and most of the spoilers were things i predicted anyway like i'd always assumed naro (nero?) was a person in the form of a bird all along or that some outside force tricked the humans into massacring the elves. the show does a pretty good job of telegraphing things in a way that the audience can predict what's coming.

the only major spoiler i've suffered from one of these threads is finding out julius will get resurrected in some form which i truly would not have guessed in a thousand years. luckily i watched him die only a few days before that got spoiled for me so it didn't diminish the emotional weight of his death when i first watched it. though it does feel a little hollow now i suppose since that was easily the saddest moment of the whole show for me. but i'm glad we'll get to see him again even though i don't really know anything else beyond knowing he comes back somehow.

2) Asta jobs to Damnatio and has to break out of prison, possibly with the help of Gueldre and Revchi who have experience with that.
3) Asta jobs to Damnatio and resigns to be executed to save everyone else but gets rescued by his allies at the last second.
It's basically just a matter of how long of a detour Tabata wants to take to the inevitable conclusion. Best case scenario is 1-2 chapters but worst case scenario could be almost 10 chapters.

I think I actually prefer this to most other battle shounen. It's hardly refined, but it does something most fall short of, which is having arcs and chapters for its side characters that are actually interesting. There's more to it than just "oh, here's this side character, here's their side story, and now they're swinging the fight instead of the mc! This is writing!" Black clover actually introduces elements from those backstories into the main plot so the side characters can grow stronger by facing their past while also moving the plot forward.
The pacing is just so much better, too. At the point I'm at now, Jeraiya hadn't even been killed off yet in Naruto, whereas Asta and Yuno have both organically developed their finisher transformations, Vanessa has gone back and faced her oedipal mother, Noelle put Solid in his place, Finral nearly died to Langris, Luck became less of a dick head, and the different relationships between the captains and the wizard king have been given love, with parallels being shown between Asta/Yuno and Yami/William. I think Hero aca is probably the only battle shounen I've seen with better pacing. Fairy Tail tried to do something similar to this in its first 100, but it missed the mark with backstories that don't really feel relatable to anything people go through in real life. Rather than most of the cast being orphaned, most of the cast in Black Clover would be better off being orphaned. That's some fucking realism there.

No. That start in particular is awful - it sounds like black people in a church about to break into gospel negro spirituals- there's even the clapping in the background. Once the One Piece logo shows up, it obviously gets a lot better, but it's still just good not great. The peak of the song isn't the fanfic noncanon fight with kaido, rather it's when Raid Suit Sanji shows up and they start showing off all the new Wano characters (Kyo looks a lot worse in the OP than the god tier manga design, on the other hand Speed, King and Queen look awesome in anime form.) It's gold from there right up until the part with Yasu getting crucified. Then instead of climaxing with kaido, it goes back down...showing off the filler'ific moments of today's episode THEN going to Luffy vs Kaido.

BC OP 8 on the other hand is a lot better as an overall picture. Proper build up, gets awesome right when we see Patri, a quick peek at Leo-Fuegoleon, Luck, elf'd Yuno, and then expertly following up with Mereoleona fucking shit up and Asta joining the fray. It just feels a lot more coherent and well thought out in every sense, yet still feeling free flowing and spontaneous.

Justadice still has it beat however.

In shipping there are generally three categories:

- How likely it is
- How much you favor their relationship
- How much you want them to win

The third one only applies if you're talking about a character with multiple love interests because otherwise there isn't a competition. It's pretty much saying you like them so you want them to win. Sekre is undoubtedly getting her hype from the second two. Noelle is the only one with any real weight from the first. At the end of the day though it's number two that matters most to shippers - it's about finding the dynamic cute, charming, and/or interesting.

In short it's who you want to win, not who will.

Does Sekre count as a tsundere? She seems pretty kuu-tsun.
