That makes sense then, I first read it during the summer I started reading manga. I was reading mostly one shots and anything that didn't have like 100s of chapters. It was one of the first manga that that left enough of an impact to make me want to search for more hence why I read the novel. This was all before I heard of Yea Forums so most of what I used to find manga was wikipedia and random site clicking.
