Now that the dust has settled, what went so horribly, horribly wrong?

It tried to be the new Eva way too hard

Not enough breeding

>wake up
>kyoanus still dead
Based zero two.

everything after episode 15

It was a retelling of gurren lagann

the alien bit felt like it needed more development, and Hio and zero two needed to have their happy end. ( fine with the reincarnation but really wanted them to have a live together beyond combat)

also, the princess was super interesting but used poorly. she should have waited for their re-birth, had a life with friends... things like that.

second cour, as soon as trigger wasnt involved anymore and the spotlight shifted to A-1s "studio favorites" shitsuru and cockwhore-o

Writing themselves into a corner with the pink thot while wanting to avoid race-mixing in their attempts to encourage the Elevens to breed.

Wasting 30% of the running time on that useless Mizuru drama.

Why is she so smug?

we had to watch the whole fucking relationship development again because they switched out the main characters for the 2nd half

It turns out that when you combine A1 and Trigger, the two studios' strenghts don't complement each other well, while their weaknesses enter some sort of recursive amplifying phenomenon. As a result, even with a decent series composition, the tone was all over the place.

02 went from an interesting character to shitty waifu bait, MC was always boring and replaceable, blatant and cringey parenting propaganda, retarded ending.

>Now that the dust has settled
Why do you feel the need to append this?

pretty much sums it up.

Stole too much from shows like E7 and EVA without realizing what made them good. Generic Trigger trash, and generic A-1 Garbage

Shitty worldbuilding that breaks down every time you leave the close confinements of the children's living spaces. Also, bland and forgettable MC for horny teenagers and braindead otakus to project themselves into.

That felt incredibly forced indeed, but its not what ruined the show (and didn't take 30% of the show, thankfully).

>demands a happy ending
I spotted the braindead burgerlander.

The two main problems with the show were
>too much teen drama
>the introduction of the aliens
Despite the threads being a shitshow I still have slightly warm memories of watching it with Yea Forums. I guess it was kind of fun arguing about it.

Am I the only one who liked this idiot strawberry? She was a bitch for trying to meddle with Hiro's relationship, but I can't help being turned on by beta girls.

No, girls are supposed to be beta.

-They didn't have a plan past episode 15. This is documented
-They didn't know what kind of show they wanted to make. They just combined a bunch of different better mecha shows into a blender, added a dash of Trigger-ness to it and just hoped it work out
-Fuck the alien plot, anybody who actually defends that is a shill

Also contrary to popular belief, it was not the fault of "Trigger" as a whole or "P.A. Works" as a whole, rather the dumbass director and writer team who didn't know what show they were making
