Well the whole point of that scene is that he's playing it nonchalently because he's trying (and failing) to not worry Sakura. And the sudden cut from in the middle of danger to just at the house is to put us in the shoes of Sakura, who suddenly without warning just has to deal with her boyfriend returning home half-dead and crippled. I thought it was a really effective scene.

THIS. After reading the manga and the novels along with my friends summaries for vol 5, Apocrypha is honestly my 3rd favorite Fate. It's like Heavens Feel in being a character/philosphic drama that's really dependent on interactions(only stuff actually happens most the time) with everything kicking into overdrive at the very end in an epic conflict full of kino moments and great character moments and send offs with palapable gravitas. If it's just to be bros with your servant and never fight, with some fucky-sucky sometimes, you might be fine, but if you expect to fight and go on grand adventures, if you ain't a grail like Sakura who is getting unlimited injections constantly from the other side against her will, you probably will have trouble.
