It's a bit of a shame that their two bestselling current-running series on a volume-to-volume basis both started 20 years ago within a year of one another. None of their recent stuff is successful enough + designed to go on as long as HxH and OP either. Not only that but more of their most successful recent series have been going with relatively quick conclusions like AssClass ending and Neverland being in its final arc already.

I can see Jump why they're so antsy to get another successful long-runner in there right now, although trying to push BnHA so hard is backfiring (declining sales, weak writing), and jumping the gun and giving Dr Stone 2 cours is probably just a waste of resources and wishful thinking.

I'm OK with this as long as it doesn't affect Jump SQ and I get to see the ending of World Trigger.

>current-running
>best selling
>hxh
also from the top 5 best selling 3(4 if you dont count hiatus x hiatus) started less than 2 years ago
???

Yeah probably. There's never really going to be another Dragon Ball or another big three, and once One Piece ends it will slowly begin to whither away.

>trying to push BnHA
SJW never pushed this. Dr. Stone on the other hand tho.

Depends on what you mean by "die". They won't croak completely if that's what you're hoping. I can see oldheads buying Jump just out of obligation even after One Piece ended just to fill that One Piece vacuum in them.

One Piece, HxH, and SnK are the only 1M sellers left in the manga industry.

It has a million spinoffs already and got Kishi boost. MHA is the most pushed manga in Jump and despite that it can't outsell Neverland.

When shounen jump finally kicks the bucket which magazine will replace it?

>It has a million spinoffs already and got Kishi boost.
The Promised Neverland got promoted on a popular tv show and an Oda boost

>designed to go on as long as HxH
nigga HxH barely has 300 chapters. if you just account for release duration its not older than 6 years at best. Even Naruto was longer than this and BnHA is on his best way to surpass it in lenght

the best selling manga isnt made out of singular issues tho
and hxh isnt currently running

>muh mega super hits
Jump was selling even before dragonball.
All these super long series didn't exist back then either, just in and out hits one after the other.
50-300 chapters at best, quick and good, that needs to come back.

>Jump was selling even before dragonball.
was it selling before hokuto no ken?

Funny how this all started when Bleach ended. That's what they get for disrespecting a masterpiece.

>It has a million spinoffs already and got Kishi boost
I don't even watch mha and I know this is just obssesion

Ring Ni Kakero existed.

Yeah mainly due to go nagai's series at the start.
Harenchi Gakuen pioneered the ecchi genre and school settings, funny since most wsjfags hate those these days.

Bleach was a flop.

It's still the top selling magazine in Japan so no.

HxH doesn't count since it doesn't release regularly.

You're not taking into account digital sales, which are not tracked publically but many readers switched out of convinience, especially for new series. With old series people feel like completing the collection as it were

>Funny how this all started when Bleach ended.
Jump has been on steady decline since DB and Slam Dunk ended.

wtf is wrong with goku's face

>Sells 1m copies of his shit regularly despite only releasing like a volume a year on average
How does he do it?

Yes because if some texans call Bleach a legendary manga that totally makes it true.

Lol at putting Nardo and Bleach on the same sentence as DB.

Shounen Run

Show proof. I don't see how YYH,DBZ and Slam Dunk is beating Bleach,Naruto and One Piece in their hayday.

When's next Jump Festa btw?

>Bleach

This if from an official AMERICAN ad from Plus Manga app you mexican. You know the same shit you bitch ass niggas rip scans from every weekend.

Slam Dunk sold 121 million copies with 31 vol. That's over 3M per volume (Naruto barely hit 2M, for reference). DB is self explanatory.

Bleach was never top tier in Japan. At its peak it always lost to HxH, let alone Naruto and OP.

Check the circulation numbers dumbass.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weekly_Shōnen_Jump#Circulation_figures

Pic related just a sample of what I'm talking about.

DB and Slam Dunk sold far more per volume and Jump sold much more weekly back in those days.

I'm not a mexican but ok.
American shit is irrelevant.

Man I sure hope so.

>121 million copies with 31 vol. That's over 3M per volume
Actually that's very close to 4 million per volume.

And I've seen some instances where Slam Dunk still sold crazy well and made some top charts these recent years despite it being finished 20+ years ago.

Cope hunterfag look at pic (which btw is the same in Japan)
Shit opinion

>Amerimutt ads
>incapable of basic math

72 million copies/36 volumes that's 2.05 million copies per volume
120 million copies/74 volumes that's 1.62 million copies per volume

Kneel, Bleachdog.

LOL not even a 1% higher with HXH having a anime for its run while Bleach stopped at the TYBW.

>The Chad leading the virgins to victory

>not even a 1% higher

WSJ is better than it's ever been though.
The Promised Neverland, Kimetsu and Dr. Stone is better than anything from the past decade

you're a lunatic

This is about sales retard and none of those are good.

Based

Shonen Skip.

Shounen Push

That chart is from last year. The same year MHA came second to one piece in overall sales. The promised neverland just had an anime while MHA's anime been on hiatus for almost a year. Anime's are huge boosts to manga sales. Also you don't account for western sales in which MHA surpass all other shonen series for the past 6 months.

>50-300 chapters at best, quick and good, that needs to come back.
It is coming back but you guys keep shitting on them

Kubo should never take off his sunglasses.
Without them he looks like a total loser, with them he at least looks like a memelord.

It's not an opinion, it's a fact.
Japs don't care about gaijins.

I love how this got conveniently ignored

>HXH having a anime for its run
It had 2 anime plus a continuation OVA series of the 1999 series.
It had this because HxH was popular.

Ummm ok did I say HXH wasn't popular

I think HxH has sold over 74mill by now

>WSJ is better than it's ever been though.

Attached: yohsmile.png (640x480, 272K)

Welp, it's dead.

You implied that the anime made the manga popular when it's the other way around.

Togashi has like a million of super hardcore dedicated fans which is why his manga volumes rarely if ever sell below a million copies.
Kubo doesn't have this as evidenced by the declining sales post-Aizen(and especially in the last arc).

I don't actually think it will die.
I'm pretty sure WSJ is still the best selling manga magazine in Japan.

That said seeing as WSJ has always been one of the most progressive magazines...I think it might go digital only someday with only volumes being printed physically.

BC and Dr. Stone will save Shonen Jump until Bleach returns.

>BC And Dr. Stone will save Shonen Jump until Bleach returns.
Nice joke, user.

I just fucking said i don't care what the Japanese think. If you think comparing Bleach to HXH in terms of popularity, influence, fans makes you look smart you're a fucking dumbass.

Is that Cascade with the Haikyu kid? That's kinda cool.

You know what, if AKBingo could die in my lifetime, I can believe Jump could too.

>1996 to 1997 -> almost 2 millions

DB/DBZ end really hurt JUMP;.. it was never the same, even with One Piece, Naruto, etc.

I believe the theme of the cover was for authors to draw their characters with characters from a series they liked, and Furudate was a big Midori no Makibo fan.

Of those 2 only Dr. Stone is good

>I just fucking said i don't care what the Japanese think.
Coping amerilard, you can't change the facts.
Not even burgers bought his manga volumes that much post-Aizen.

Dragon Ball ended in 1995.
It's the anime that ended in 1996.

Still Jump peaked in 1995 with DB ending. And started declining since then with Slam Dunk ending in 1996 giving a major blow to the magazine.

I'm gonna die of cancer first thanks to these threads.

I'm probably going to see the entire comic industry dying in my lifetime. Both in Japan, the US, and Europe.

It sucks, but what can you do?

le journal de Spirou

Attached: 838_untitled-2.jpg (800x697, 171K)

you need to read this book

Attached: jump-l%C3%A2ge-dor-du-manga.jpg (606x960, 325K)

it is sad, but at least there's plenty of backlog to go around

franco/belge comics still sell a lot

>hxh
>1 million per volume
>1 vollume a year, maybe less

>bleach
>half a million per velume
>3 volumes a year
