It's basically Dynasty Warriors. The plus side is that higher difficulty gives you new enemies to fight (along with more and higher aggression) so it's not just lower difficulties but with longer health bars. The minus side is that the Extella Maneuver, at attack that everybody has, will instantly vaporize any enemy on the screen outside bosses/sub-bosses and if you use just one bar of it, it's very spammable. So any challenge that might be there from ranged enemies, flying enemies, etc. is pretty much negated by the ability to wipe the screen in a single attack.

It was still fun, and I liked playing it, but it got boring before even clearing all the side character stories. I hear that Extella Link removed the Extella Maneuver, although I don't know how it compares otherwise.

Depends on what you mean by "Medea route". If you mean Medea with Shirou, then the answer is dead immediately because Shirou doesn't know subtle or strategy or thinking. If you mean a route with Medea and a competent master, then it would probably involve a lot of carefully planned moving about to collect information, where one wrong move will set things off early and get the MC killed. Including, possibly, just saying the wrong things to Medea herself. So lots of tricky and sometimes chancy planning which eventually pays off with the cute witch happy with you.

I'll hopefully be back for Halloween, since I missed last years and the Robin/Liz interaction sounds like a fun story to read through. Not sure how much else I'll stick around with given that battles take two or three times longer than they should with the current slowdown.
