What are some shows you wish would be released on bluray that are still stuck on DVD or VHS?
What are some shows you wish would be released on bluray that are still stuck on DVD or VHS?
Some of them are unfortunatly stuck on DVD forever.
Why
All of them? But specifically:
Rurouni Kenshin, Gasaraki, Giant Gorg, Neoranga, Now and Then Here and There, Hakkenden, Gosenzosama Banbanzai, Votoms (the SDBD doesn't count).
Low resolution digital masters or something like that, just look at the horrendous Read or Die BD releases.
Pretty sure votoms is on bluray
>Rurouni Kenshin
Good god does this need and updated release.
>(the SDBD doesn't count)
Why doesn't it count? It's a higher quality less lossy release.
Nice digits
Ideally everything that was animated with cels and mastered on film would get HD telecines, and early digitally produce/mastered stuff would get SD BDs to take advantage of the better video and audio formats and higher bitrates.
I'm still waiting on HD BDs for Trigun, Golden Boy, Captain Tylor and the first season of The Big O.
I would also kill for an SD BD release of FLCL.
Cause I want an HD remaster.
Well, you ain't gettin' it.
>VHS
I refuse to believe there are any shows that haven't been put on dvd yet.
Oh I bet there are a shitload of old 80s ovas and junk back from when they where just animating whatever idea an animation director was shooting past them. Man what a time that was.
What's wrong with DVD? For older anime there's no difference in quality unless they remaster. Just bought this secondhand. Though I could have chosen FLCL instead, I thought I'd pick this instead since it's a bit more comfy.
don't mind the floor, accidentally left a tissue in the washing so now my room is covered in confetti
A lot of it depends on the player and the show but even DVDs can look kind of bad on modern set ups. Especially early 2000s digipaint shows.
I see.
Is there a decent re-release of laserdisc LoGH for a less archaic standard out yet? From what I heard the re-release or three were poorly redrawn.
Transparency has sort of become a much more noticeable issue. If you look at the bottom of Arslan's cape here you can make out that part of the door.
It's been a few tears since I've watched LotGH, but from what I remember the redrawn parts didn't look bad but were obviously digital animation so it could be a little distracting.
He was asking about Legend of the Galactic Heroes, not Heroic Legend of Arslan.
And Im speaking in general.
>buying anime
Literally what is the point of this? Everything worth watching has been fansubbed and put on the internet.
>Literally what is the point of this?
Being able to own and watch something I enjoy on a my actual TV comes to mind. But Im not a poor fag. There's also supporting the industry. But you know, don't buy shit and save your little poor fag dollars. It's not like that resulted in only shitty LN and isekai shit getting traction.
Oh yeah, I bet you got real wealthy spending all that money on frivolous bullshit. You could just hook up your PC to your TV. Also, a lot of anime isn't even licensed in the west anymore so you have to buy it second hand, which doesn't exactly make the show's producers a whole lot of money. Face it, you're a delusional poorfag with abysmal impulse control who buys oceans of plastic for that momentary dopamine.
not a show but the x/1999 movie
A remaster of Key the Metal Idol.
Fucking based
I'm surprised this hasn't been done already.
Lack of interest.
yeah. its such a beautiful film I would love to have it on blu ray
I'm interested
>2019
>Still caring about physical releases
>being a leech
Boku no pico
What's the point of standard definition blurays?
99% of anime is complete garbage, very little is worth owning
