Will there ever be an anime with GGI as good as Rango?

Even the best CGI pales in comparison to mediocre 2D.

The Lupin CGI movie doesn't look horrible.

The CG scenes in Etotama were actually pretty enjoyable

Not even remotely true. It's one thing to prefer the style, but mediocre 2D animation is just that, mediocre. Mouth flaps and slideshows aren't better than much of anything.

One that doesn't try to look real

literally none

this looks so fucking weird

Gantz: O is the only time I've seen it look any good.

GemButts and FAGs. Only correct answers.

There is something incredibly off putting about cartoony characters with realistic rendering.

Digital Frontier is one of the best game CGI studios in Japan. However, Digital Frontier rarely does animation CGI.

Please post a good animated CGI for comparison

Looks like one of those commercials for a Chinese product with animal branding

A miserable pile of secrets?

Mechanical CGI is easier to make than human CGI

Toei has a better mechanical CGI than this in 2013, but human CGI is progressing very slowly.

This all looks like ass and you should feel like ass.

In fact, in addition to precure, most of the animated CGI is like an ass, do not believe can be compared

Mechanical CGI has a single action and the action is very stiff, so it is easy to make

Human CGI has a lot of movements, and it can't be very stiff, so it's hard to make

It's more about the background CGI, it has a nice aesthetic

Good human CGI needs to rely on real people's motion capture technology.

This is the Precure ED CGI, which requires a lot of money. This is something that many small studios can't do. Small studios prefer to do mechanical CGI because it saves money.

99% of anime has CGI in some way or form

How on Earth is Pretty Cure still ongoing???

Etotama.
>What is a bad CGI
Everything else.

Normally I hate CGI but Initial D is one of the few things where I actually prefer it.
Post-4th stage it gets boring and uninspired though like the show

Why the fuck do precure shit gets good cgi, Bros?

Toei easily has the best CG department for a non-CG anime studio.

This ED was outsourced though. Excellent effects and style, but the expressions are more stiff than would be desired, given that the outsourced studio is more dedicated to effects, iirc.

Citing Bandai IP sales is counter-intuitive to your argument about Toei, given that many of those IPs feature shitty CGI.
