Requestfags get more out of it but I imagine its a great training ground for people with ways to go, you get immediate positive feedback if you're decent enough, you're surrounded by a captive audience and fellow amateur artists, and if you're actually really good at what you do its good advertisement, so its not like there's literally nothing in it for drawfags either.
Even the good artists around here need to build a following somehow. I imagine if you aren't some chink who was bred and raised for making patreon art of seasonal waifus its probably pretty hard to get a following online

I could scream loomis at you but I'm sure you already know about that. I think what may be tripping you up is the lack of context here.

Also maybe look into some reference, You can use it to quickly find out large things like proper pose setting or smaller things like how a spit trail should look.

You're anonymous (mostly) and can request all you want without anyone being the wiser so long as you don't make it obvious.

I have 3 requests in this thread right now, but I try to keep it at 5 or below so others can get in n the fun too.

Also I have been spending a lot less on paid commissions since I discovered the drawthreads.

To be fair if this was some giant queue and everyone would get their guaranteed delivery eventually I'd keep it at one that I really want. but considering how absolutely random it all is and how some stuff WILL not get drawn even after months I honestly don't see the issue with betting on more than one horse so to say.
Just don't mention it before it gets even worse in these threads, but guaranteed barely anyone is adhering to some invisible "only one request" rule

I like the uncertainty and randomness of it. I was requesting one thing for weeks before it got fulfilled and another time I requested something and it was fulfilled in less than half an hour. Different artists with different styles just drawing what they like.

I like to use drawthreads to scout for more artists to commission. Though none of the ones I like take commissions and even if they do have no interest in what I ask for.
