>According to a lawyer representing the company, a total of some ¥1.96 billion had been deposited as of Tuesday into a dedicated account set up by Kyoto Animation, known as KyoAni, for donations. >The sum is composed of deposits from individuals, as well as donations collected by other companies and groups, including ¥249 million gathered at Tokyo-based anime-related goods retailer Animate’s 119 outlets located both inside and outside of the country. >A U.S. anime distribution company launched a crowdfunding campaign, while companies, including anime-related firms from China, France and Saudi Arabia, have offered financial aid. >japantimes.co.jp/news/2019/08/17/national/one-month-arson-attack-support-kyoto-animation-home-overseas-still-spreading/
Has there been any releases of information in regards to the names of the dead and the condition of the hospitalised? Last I heard only 10 had been officially announced.
>A number of the novels were stories about the school days of junior or senior high school students, raising the possibility that Aoba believed that elements in one of his submitted novels were copied by Kyoto Animation in one of the studio’s school-set anime series. It'll be interesting to know if any of them had any similarities.
Henry Bailey
yep
Anthony Campbell
>school days of junior and High school students
That's literally 60 percent of anime
Robert Butler
beyond the generic trope level?
Dylan Jackson
They shouldn't accept any money from chinks, never trust chinks. EVER.
Jose Robinson
Based bigot poster
Logan Walker
That's probably an underestimate too. Even high fantasy tends to end up in school situations.
Colton Bennett
Doesn’t Kyoani just adapt shit? If anything was plagiarized it’d be the original author of whatever work
Of course the arsonist is likely just a crazy fuck who got set off by some superficial similarities in a kyoani show
Grayson Ortiz

That's stupid, money is money. Green is green, buildings aren't gonna build themselves. Imagine turning down donations over some false pride.

You realize you can take people’s donations and then just not do what they want you to do under the table right? Money isn’t some crossroads demon magic.
Chase Collins
depends what comes attached to the money.

>HAHA, KYOANI HAS SO MUCH MONEY THEY CAN AFFORD ALL THAT GOOD ANIMATION OTHER STUDIOS ARE YOU EVEN TRYING, POORFAG OTHER STUDIOS >PLEASE GIB MONEY TO KYOANI!
Isaiah Reed
They adapt the LN that are submitted through that same competition Aoba used. It wouldn't be too hard for them to take good ideas from the 100s they reject and put them into the ones that win. I doubt the sort of authors that put things forward for those competitions would turn down editorial suggestions from Kyoani. Still I expect at best he wrote something about a school band or swimming club and that was enough to think they copied him.
Jaxon Ramirez
It says that the chinks and Saudis are willing to participate specifically in crowdfunding, not donations. Crowdfunding often suggests the investor to receive some benefits.
Justin Anderson
>Doubting kyoani
Juan Perez
Congratulations. They got a poster signed by one of the devs. How could the integrity of their artists ever recover?
Brody Campbell
Proud to have donated to them myself. In my elder years, i will tell my grandchildren while watching VEG together, that i stood with KyoAni in their hardest hour.
Liam Thomas
Sounds like enough to buy another building isn't it?
I don't know about indemnification of the deaths. Is it paid by the company or there is any insurance company in japan?
Charles James
Was the money worth losing all those people though? Stop being autistic.
>>A U.S. anime distribution company launched a crowdfunding campaign, while companies, including anime-related firms from China, France and Saudi Arabia, have offered financial aid. american are so poor that they rely on crowdfunding while chad weeb France, China and S. Arabia dont need to
Kayden Reed
Your grandchildren will hate you for contributing to the downfall of anime
Jack Brooks
So, what title should they animate to honor and to thank everybody for helping them rebuild?
Isaac Rodriguez
Seems interesting.

Does anyone have that picture of a Saudi Prince buying doujins at an anime con? The one where he’s surrounded by body guarda.
Nathan Kelly
I bet they are going to use some of that money to install powder sprinklers. I would use that money to purchase SCBA oxygen masks and oxygen tanks for employees.
The incident in Kyoto has convinced to purchase an SCBA for home.
Anthony Carter
are they even allowed to do that? isn't porn against islam?

What if the company spends it on stuff in their studio though, like nice looking wooden interior design or a cool spiral staircase? Then their people working there actually get something from it.

Apparently Shinji Aoba isn't seeking the death penalty due to Japanese law of Mental Illness
William Roberts
They are pointing out that he made preparations and took long planning for the arson attack which a perspn with mental illnesses shouldn't be able to do.

Temporalry insanity pleas are sure common, but being incapable of distinguishing right from wrong is just as viable, and is not limited to any period of time.

That's only speculation, dimwit. He's still in the hospital being treated for his burns.
I'm pretty sure that the 90% of all the anime industry is supported by the arabs, didn't one rich guy gave like trucks full of gold to Oda or some shit like that?
