It needs an action-adventure game. I made a post about this earlier so if someone calls my shit out here I full admit to pulling a copy/paste.

My hope for a Yaiba game would be a series of unique encounters where you need to understand your environment and enemy move sets to know what forms to use when. You'd have some basic slashes but the primary way of dealing damage would be breath forms. This way every fight would be like its own puzzle.

Tanjirou would be the most complex given that he has ten forms plus the Sun Breath, and Inosuke and Zenitsu would act as pace breakers. They would be on opposite ends of the spectrum, Inosuke would allow the player to let lose and play more sloppily, while Zenitsu would demand a "perfect run" where you need to understand exactly how to ricochet around the arena in order to end the fight in one attack. It'd be a very boss fight centric game, obviously.

Not all Musou make sense within a series context, Berserk for one, Guts got famous exactly because he fought 100 men by himself in the series proper, in the game he casually can mow down 1000 enemies if the player wishes before even getting the Berserker Armor.
