i always find it interesting how lesser evolved pokemon can have such a strong impact against fully evolved pokemon in the show but in the games theres such a big gap.

Yes, it's comfy as fuck. The filler is way more entertaining than the other seasons because it doesn't revolve around literal who one off characters and Team Rocket is actually funny and not overly forced this time.

Early SM Ash looked like fucking shit. I'm glad it just took them a few episodes to get used to drawing his new design and he doesn't look THAT derpy anymore.

SM seems promising at first, but it falters when it comes battles/Arcs. The Ultra Beast episodes have been underwhelming and the league as well.

SM has the best cast and it's better than most Pokemon series on an episode by episode basis. That's not saying much imo, but it's still something noteworthy.

I say it's worth the watch at times. It's a really well animated series for a long runner

OLM Studio is great you uncultured pleb, bet you haven't even seen Utawarerumono to know how capable the studio is. They clearly enjoy the Alola region so much the animators feel like putting actual effort in, which is no wonder with the cast having such marvelous girls like Suiren, Mao and Lychee amongst other great characters like Acerola and so forth.
But yeah it's funny it took them 20 years to reach this level when it comes to Pokemon and now they do it better than most actual seasonal shows bother to do, whilst being eternally long running series, it's both amazing and sad.

Not him but I'm just glad that their out of the 3dcg background phase now. That 2d +3d background + rotating camera was pretty jarring.
