Otome is cute.
But her voice is a bit, I don’t know. Breathy or weird sounding, I can’t describe it.
But I think she says LOVE YOU not to sound cutesy (Puri~!) but because she genuinely loves people. She is just a Pop nice girl and not a “fake perky” Pop type.

I think Otome is probably my favourite OG character, or one of them. I like Aoi and I can see why people like Ichigo.

I’ve always liked Sumire’s character design (nice Sumire in the OP) but I’ve heard people say her character is bland. But I watched the Aikatsu movies and I like Tarte Tatin. Of course I should watch all of s1 first.

Aikatsu songs are nice but don’t feel like the characters are singing them. They’re sung by other people. They sound like Jpop on radio or regular idol music or something. I like the jazzy Shibuya-kei type Aikatsu songs. Signalize and definitely Trap Of Love are nice.

I like Otome, but having the same two words make up most of a character's dialogue is never a good thing. There are two kinds of catchphrases: the good kind where it's brought up once or twice an episode so you know they say it but it's not overdone, and then there's the bad kind where the writer doesn't understand moderation and tries to insert it at every opportunity even if it's upwards of 4 or 5 times per scene, let alone episode.

Somebody thought constantly incessant catchphrases was a good idea and was allowed to add it to the show instead of getting fired immediately as should have happened.

Both bad catchphrases because they're generic and don't rely on context so they were used whenever they needed to make the character just say something. On the other hand, Ran's "Is this really aikatsu?" was good because it relied on silly contextual shenanigans happening for it to be said.

This kind of thing has happened in other shows I think, it may be that the animators don't need to look at the reference sheets anymore and the style changes a little because of that.
