I don't understand Togashi when he clearly knows he's been like a decade having trouble releasing the manga, yet he creates out of nowhere the Succession Arc with Kurapika and the boat and all that stuff. Like, about the only things left to resolve in the story were the Kurapika vs Spiders conflict and the Dark Continent arc.
The stuff about the war between princes? It's good but just like the Chimera Ant arc it came out of nowhere and took the spotlight AND HE KEEPS ADDING MORE CHARACTERS AND PLOT LINES. He's sinking himself even deeper with each new chapter.

I mean for fucks' sake, he even introduced characters on the very last batch of chapters last year.

HXH started the year after One Piece. One Piece is nearly at 1000 chapters while HXH hasn't even hit 400 yet. It's not the content that's causing the wait, it's that Togashi barely releases chapters anymore.

Well Togashi could have at least tried rushing it. For example don't even show the trip to the Dark Continent, the war wasn't needed. You could just say they boarded the ship and skip to the part they land in the DC. Boom, like 100 chapters are avoided.

The point is that the main conflict has been resolved. There's no rule saying an author has to resolve everything by the stories end, especially side stuff.

So if Togashi never finishes the manga we've at least seen Gon and his quest to find his father to its conclusion. That's a reasonable stance to have. Prove me wrong.

He’s a senior editor for WSJ and HxH volumes always sell ridiculously well when they release. I’m pretty sure he’s one of the few WSJ authors who actually owns the rights to his series as well which probably helps.

I'm not a fan of HxH and I'm animeonlyfag, but I enjoyed it quite a bit, still I think the author just have to let it go. All these years and he still draw like a disable guy and he clearly doesn't know how to continue it.

Yeah but usually that's a mark of a shitty story teller. Stuff like Hisoka and the Spiders have been storylines throughout the entire manga. One Piece could end tomorrow with the crew finding One Piece but that wouldn't be a satisfying ending because there's so much other stuff set up.

Just because your favorite subplot didn't get finished means nothing to whether or not the writer is a bad writer. You could have ended the story at chapter 339 and that would have been a great ending. We see the resolution to some of the CA stuff, we see various characters like kurapika still dealing with their shit, their own journeys, and that's fine. Everyone has their own paths but Gon's is over for now.

Then 340 drops and Togashi pulls me right back in for new shenanigans. I want him to pursue this but again, story already had an ending of sorts.
