Did you know that Polaris isn't actually just one star?
Fist of the North Star
>Kenshiro was alone with yuria for years
>didn't get her pregnant
>probably died a virgin
At least Raoh left descendants.
>isn't actually just one star
It is, it's part of Ursa Minor which is a constellation, but Polaris is a single star, faggot.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DELETE THIS THREAD!!!!
A-A-A-A-AKAGI......HELP!!!
Why was Jagi so shit at martial arts? All the other brothers were prodigies who were basically on the same level.
nop kenshiro would lose hes powers if he fuck yuria in the first plaace
Lazy, mostly.
He wasn't shit because if he was shit he wouldn't be able to learn what he did, he just didn't practice and was lazy as shit and generally just not AS good as the main three.
She was dying from radiation sickness, her womb was barren from radiation.
please dont acknowledge the existence of anything after the true ending with raohs death, thanks
It's a three star system you mongoloid
Only one of them is the one that we actually see, the two other ones are miniatures you cockmuncher
My favourite thing about Jagi is that despite being resoundingly BTFO by all three of his brothers, the fact that he knows Hokuto Shinken to a significant degree at all puts him in the like the top 1-2% of martial artists in the world. There's a chance he could have wasted some of the Nanto dudes if he wasn't so retarded.
damn thats true, like he was part of the wonder generation of hokuto shinken and basically had to contend with 3 absolute kung fu jesuses, any other generation and he might have very well qualified for succession on ability even if he was a bastard
Best Nanto?
Kenshiro said that his nanto doesn't hold a candle to Shin's. All of the Rokusei would have soundly BTFO him. Well maybe not Yuda.
Obviously Nanto Ho Oh Ken, Souther is canonically on a much higher power level than any other Nanto.
Shin is canonically 2nd strongest Nanto together with Rei though.
Souther > Shin = Rei > Shu = Yuda > Rest
Also Five Chariots aren't actually Nanto users.
Jin>Souther>Shin>Shun>Yuda>I almost forget Yuria was also part of them
>Jin
Who?
Also your list is wrong, Tetsuo Hara had a guide and explicitly pointed that People always assume Shin is low in powerlevels because he jobs to Ken but the same people also forget that Shin wasn't giving it his all in that fight while Ken was at his absolutely angriest ever.
His nanto doesn't but what about his Hokuto Shinken? Souther and Shuu might have been hard fights for him, I reckon he would beat Yuuda easily, not sure about Shin and Rei.
>Canonically
I don't remember this, where was it explained?
>I don't remember this, where was it explained?
A guide in shonen jump
>Who?
I meant Rei. Don't know what happened to me. Also I though we were listing the ones we liked the most.
Nanto would shit all over Hokuto Shinken if it was a single successor style instead of being split into 100+ sects. As in, if a single person knew techniques of all of the Nanto sects/styles.
Prove me wrong, you can't.
Hokuto is pretty much magic by the end of HnK.
Only Musou Tensei though.
The majority of the Nanto styles seem to be shit. If you believe everything written about Hokuto Shinken, it's anger turns your body into indestructable sttel, is a deadly assassination art the likes of which the world has never seen and with Muso Tensei you are almost literally invincible. The only chance they had was if they never figured out Souther's secret and he wasted them all.
>that time Kenshiro looked like a Stallone's Cobra clone
Actually, Raoh and Souther did fight before his fight Ken.
Despite not knowing Souther's secret, the fight still ended in a draw because Souther couldn't get past Raoh's sheer resilience and Raoh decided to say fuck it to techniques and went good'ol classic bruteforce pummeling on Souther which worked just fine.
The fight ends with Souther basically talking his way out of it and getting away so technically it wasn't even a draw and a victory for Raoh.
Ken has always looked like Stallone.
That wasn't a gaiden was it? I don't remember that happening in the main story.
>That wasn't a gaiden was it? I don't remember that happening in the main story.
Raoh Gaiden, the only one actually written by Buronson, but illustrated by a different artist.
He always looked like Stallone after Shin arc
>At least Raoh left descendants.
Yeah, by planting him into Yuria in case you didn't know.
She wasn't dying from radiation sickness you shit translation reading anime only fag. She was "suffering from a fatal illness, just like Toki", not from the same sickness as Toki.
Fuck knows about the canonicity of the Gaidens. Rei's Gaiden was so fucking weird. Toki's was really good though and probably could be canon without contradicting stuff. Great art as well.
Before and after he was just a lookalike but when he was on the boat with the sunglasses, he was basically a clone.
To be fair Toki was also exposed to radiation.
what is actually the best video quality + translation around these days, years and years ago I only knew about the old Heart of Madness subs but I heard recently these weren't accurate, and I'm sick of this shit video quality
Raoh Gaiden is the only one canon specifically because of being written by Buronson.
While that would make sense, consider that even the second half of the goddamn manga make massive mistakes that throw the canon into question.
The second half was forced by the editorial office and Jump themselves, as far as Buronson and Hara are concerned the story ends with Raoh.
They look like JoJo characters lol
They still very nobley wrote it.
user, she was dying from a fatal illness, it wasn't exactly specified what it was.
This is mentioned where?
It was Japanese cold.
I mean, they did but they did straight up say that they were making shit up as they went.
HnK1 ending was literally planned a year in advance already and while some of the stuff on the road to it was invented, the general outline and ending as a whole were already planned.
HnK2 on the other hand had them winging shit on a week-to-week basis before they figured where they wanted to take it.
Am I looking too far into it or did Fury Road have a ton of shit taken from Shin HnK? Joe even looks like the bad guy and they live in similar fortresses where they distribute water the same way and with cult worshiping shit.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was ripped off from Shin HnK, chances are the scripwriter was a HnK fan or simply read the novel (cause Shin HnK is a standalone novel that was later adapted into OVA).
do you not know that HnK itself takes a shitton of influence from mad max?
Yeah of course, that's why I'm curious if it came full circle and Fury Road actually looked to HnK for influence. That would be pretty wonderful.
>before they figured where they wanted to take it.
>implying they ever figured this out
Part 2 was so bad, I would love to know what happened to sales compared to Part 1, I can;t imagine they were nearly as good.
I also don't know why the fuck they had a contract for a set period of time (3 years I think it was), even back then that was an odd thing that people didn't have.
If anyone's interested, me and a friend will start translating the one-shot gaiden bonus chapters from Ichigo Aji next month, we're finishing another project right now.
We'll be translating them in release order, so starting with "Life is Offside", then "Heart of Meet", then "Nanto of Meet" and so on.
Pic semi related, random page from Ichigo Aji.
It's so strange to me Hara would choose Stallone and not the obvious choice with Mel
Ken is Bruce Lee's body with Sylvester Stallone's head in Mel Gibson's Mad Max outfit. I reckon it works out, I'm not sure I could picture a face like Mel's doing all this Kung Fu shit without it looking odd. It's also never completely consistent, early on he looked more like Burce, later on more like Stallone.
I'm just saying what Hara said in an interview, he said they were winging it for weeks on end at first but then figured out where they wanted to take it (explore the past history of Raoh and Hokuto Shinken).
The execution is still poor because they had no pre production period or anything, but it's quite clear that they did in fact settle on a specific concept.
This further extended to Souten no Ken which again takes the same concept of exploring the past of Hokuto Shinken.
even after all these years the Road Warrior kinosthetic is amazing, i hate some of the later stuff where they put Kenshiro in weird medieval armor or something with huge pads and dangly metal shit
>Ken is Bruce Lee's body
Completely wrong, Ken isn't an ottermode manlet like Bruce Lee.
Ken very much has Stallone's body, not just head.
It's Stallone's body, with Bruce Lee's mannerisms/fighting spirit and Mel Gibson's outfit.
Rei's Gaiden was impressive in one sense, I don't think I've ever seen so many different rape scenes across one series
To be fair they had a history of making stuff up, the Shin arc was roughly planned such that if it got canned they could wrap it up quickly, when it ended up being a big seller they had to bullshit some stuff until they decided on the real story about the Hokuto brothers. I'm sure they could have pulled off a less reatrded Part 2 if they really tried but I guess it was a blatant cash grab that was acknowledged by everyone.
Then again maybe they also lost their mojo, I was never big on Souten no Ken compared to Hokuto no Ken. I hear people taking about how Hara (and the editor who's name I can't remember) were the real masterminds of the whole thing and Buronson was important for Hokuto no Ken but not so much for Souten no Ken, but in terms of their careers Buronson probably had a better one when all is said and done. If for nothing else he wrote Sanctuary which is one of the best manga ever.
You can actually tell during the Amiba arc where they changed their mind about the story, Amiba absolutely was supposed to be *the* Toki originally. Best bro Rei bursting in mid-fight to casually drop such a huge revelation was pretty funny.
What fucking medieval armor?
Ken's design never changes beyond getting 3 extra accessories.
In the manga, he gets second shoulderpad after Shin, cowboy boots after Souther (or was it at start of Souther arc?) and then fingerless gloves in HnK2.
In the anime, he gets all 3 at once at start of HnK2 because the anime was lazy and didn't update Ken's outfit as it went like manga did.
I mean there were those dudes in the Nanto Five who could straight up control fire and water and shit so there's that
Why does everyone think Yuda's weak again? because Rei defeats him instead of Ken?
>when it ended up being a big seller they had to bullshit some stuff until they decided on the real story about the Hokuto brothers
That's true but that was a very short fragment of "making shit up as they went" and basically boils down to only Devil Rebirth and Godland Army/Colonel. Everything from Rei/Mamiya's village onwards to the end was essentially planned out with some details here and there changing on the way (Amiba/Toki being best example).
And the ending itself according to Hara was completely planned out a year in advance, down to Raoh's iconic pose of punching his soul to Heaven.
He was relatively normal sized/skinny before becoming ULTRA BUFF Stallone mode later one, especially compared to the mutants who roamed the same wastelands he did.
When I got to the city o whores in the Rei gaiden I was thinking "where exactly are they going with this bullshit" and then I just kept on reading to get it over and done with.
yeah even after i block out all the shit in the second part and only acknowledge up to raoh as canon, that shit is still so bungled with retcons but it's on a much more acceptable scale that i love it anyway
Buronson is not even involved with Souten no Ken because he can't.
It's because he signed up with a competitor company after HnK and basically got banned from working on SnK so that's just Hara's and the other dude's baby (I forgot his name myself).
SnK is pretty good though, it just takes a little bit to get going at the start.
I just hope you don't use either of the shitty SnK anime to judge SnK because both anime are horrible, incomplete and inaccurate.
>He was relatively normal sized/skinny before becoming ULTRA BUFF Stallone mode later one
He becomes full Stallone by the time he meets Rei, which is quite early in the story.
The "Bruce Lee" Ken wasn't in the manga for more than 2 volumes tops.
Ryuuga wasn't a member of Nanto Seiken
In 3 interviews far as I know. Last one can be found on the official HnK site, the first one was in a magazine in 2001 and in the voice interviews in the DVD's.
In the 2001 one Buronson, when asked who's Ryu's mother answered it's Yuria, twice. In the interviews Tetsuo Hara kept calling Ryu "Yuria's child" instead of by his name. And in the last one I know of Buronson again explains to some interviewer that Yuria's the mother.
hokuto-no-ken.jp
That's the last interview, the first and second one I mentioned go find yourself. I'm sick of spoonfeeding this to speedreaders who just watched the anime and complain about "muh cucking".
If you want to argue about power levels a guidebook was released with rankings rq87.flyingomelette.com
Jagi is shit, fucking Amiba and the Colonel are stronger than him.
There's only two "big" retcons in HnK1 anyway.
Amiba/Toki one and the Shin/Yuria one.
there's no way Fallout didn't take some influence with New Vegas, take one look at the Legion and tell me it's not true. And the fags at Obsidian definitely were aware of HnK because they named that one power first Fist of the North Rawr
>Raoh vs Kaioh
>???
Come the fuck on, Kaioh is a bitch scrub and Raoh would deck him.
The only reason Ken even remotely had trouble with Kaioh is because Ken lacked Raoh's ruthlesness. Kaioh himself points out that Ken is a scrub compared to Raoh.
And Ken as well admitted he'd have lost to Raoh in their final fight if Raoh wasn't fighting on fumes.
another one is shin being kens "brother" back in the very early stages when there wasnt yet a more planned story, before ken later got proper hokuto shinken stepbrothers
The fact that Souther is the only Nanto member in AA tier says everything.
>Looks
>down to Raoh's iconic pose of punching his soul to Heaven
To be fair, the best ending of all time in anything ever should be worked on for that period of time.
I read the manga, I just didn't like it as much as HnK Part 1. I can't be arsed to watch any of the SnK anime, especially the Re:Genesis CGI shit even if I do hear it's not terrible but I'm not taking the risk.
Kaioh calls Ken a bitch because Kaioh didn't see Kenshiro at his best against Raoh and also because Hokuto Ryuuken fucking counters Hokuto Shinken, Angra Mainyu or whatever was developed just to nullify Musou Tensei for example. Kaioh vs Raoh would've been amazing, same with if we got to see Prime Falco vs Raoh or vs Kenshiro.
He was never Ken's brother, that's just on you misunderstanding it.
He was just Ken's "brother" as in close friend and that never got retconned, even after killing him Ken still deeply cares about Shin.
The first anime, the bad looking 2D one, is MOSTLY faithful adaptation of like the first ~5 volumes of the manga.
The second anime, Re:Genesis, is basically fanfiction mishmash of various concepts and ideas from both SnK1 and SnK2 (also known as Re:Genesis, not to be confused with the CGI anime).
The former is good storywise in that it's mostly faithful to the manga, but looks like shit (still worth it for Yamadera's Kenshiro though) while the latter actually looks decent for CGI and has some nice fights even if the story is basically fanfic trash that's not faithful to anything from the manga and just follows rule of cool.
>Koryu below Ryuuken
>Ryuuken in AAA
I thought the whole point of Raoh seeing out Koryu was that he was on the same leel (possibly stronger) than Ryuuken. But then you have to take into them at their primes and shit and it probably gets complicated. Like a healthy Toki would be AAAA all things considered having been said about him.
But Fist of the North Star is ultimately a story about how you cannot escape your destiny, and since Ken was the destined successor he will always be one above everyone else, perhaps.
I know why he calls Ken a bitch, I'm just pointing out that Ken would've had less trouble with Kaioh if he had Raoh's ruthlessness and tenacity (which he later gets by basically getting Raoh as his Stand).
>and since Ken was the destined successor he will always be one above everyone else, perhaps
Actually, Raoh's bloodline is the destined one.
HnK2 and SnK get more into that.
It's why Ken is the last successor of his line and Raoh's son Ryu takes up the mantle after Ken.
>HnK2 and SnK
Again, we can get into questionable debates about what is and what isn't canon in this regards. HnK2 outright contradicts some earlier stuff in it.
But you are wrong retard. Plus Fist of the North Star doesn't even refer to Polaris, but to the North Dipper, also called Northern Dipper or Big Dipper, or Hokuto, a seven star constellation.
It's a terrible adaptation of the first 8 volumes, you are better sticking to the manga since the animation is so fucking awful.
Ultimately it depends on whether you consider post-HnK1 material canon or not, but officially that material is canon regardless of HnK2's issues and retcons (which as we already established ITT, HnK1 isn't free of retcons either).
The point boils down to Ryuoh being THE chosen one, but due to his mother's faggotry suicide Shuken becomes the successor instead and the way he goes about establishing his shit is tenuous at best and extremely sketchy and wrong at worst (genociding other schools after stealing their shit, implementing them into Hokuto Soke and then making Hokuto Shinken out of it).
Kenshiro's life being nothing but misery is basically 2000 years of bad karma catching up to Shuken's bloodline, which is also why his waifu gets radiation cancer, is barren and he never sires progeny while being doomed to wander the desert forever alone, until Ryu (Raoh's son) takes up the mantle and essentially has Hokuto return to its proper bloodline.
Storywise it's accurate like 90% of the time, which is what I meant about it being faithful, I never said it was good, just that it was faithful.
Not him but he's right. HNK 2 is canon and the only thing it contradicts in my knowlege is the stupid plot about the flood and raoh and toki separating with baby ken, what a load of shit that was.
Still, the fundamental idea that Raoh's blodline continues the line is canon no matter how you look at it.
Technically, Polaris is explicitly referred to in the series as being the star of the Celestial Emperor, you know, the person that Hokuto Shinken is supposed to be bodyguards of.
This is actually reflected in nature/astronomy as the Big Dipper rotates around the North Star throughout the seasons, like a windmill, furthermore if you note its position toward the North Star at the start of each of the 4 seasons, it forms a manji also more commonly known as swastika.
What is the best print version of HnK? I've had a few, but the bindings came loose. English translation nice, but not necessary.
I read the manga though and there's no mention of that whatsoever.
Even if Ken was as ruthless as Raoh, Kaioh is stronger than Raoh.
There is no English translation printed version that's complete.
The only complete, official English release is the Japan-exclusive e-ink device one, sadly enough.

>Kaioh is stronger than Raoh
Top kek m8, I r8 this b8 8/8
>Yuria cucked Ken with Raoh
OH NO NO NO NO
fuck it, i'll go nipponese
lel kenshiro really was a literal cuck all along, if only Akagi were around to see it now
Raoh actually just punched his semen directly into Yuria's womb.
Kaioh is a joke beyond his "haha so evil xD" shtick.
Not an argument
Neither is the page you posted
The entire prophecy is literally that Raoh will wreck Kaioh's shit, which is why Land of Asura had all those warning systems if Raoh were to invade and why everyone is scared shitless of him.
And Raoh technically does wreck Kaioh's shit through Ken seeing as Ken gets Raoh as his Stand through Musou Tensei and Hokuto Soke.
>Kaioh
>first time encounters Musou Tensei
>completely nullifies it
>Raoh
>first time encounters Musou Tensei
>completely blown the fuck out by it
Also Burnoson and Hara both agree that Raoh =< Kaioh.
>Also Burnoson and Hara both agree that Raoh =< Kaioh.
Cool source bro.
Also Kaioh's line had 2000 years to prepare a counter for Musou Tensei so that hardly counts + that counter is completely worthless once you realize how it works (which Ken does and then can use Musou Tensei effectively again).
Because it's not a real counter, just a diversion.
Based. After Raoh's death there should have been only 1 more chapter in which Kenshiro finds Raoh's son and starts training him. HNK 2 is a fucking disaster
Shuu could have beaten him if he wasn't blind
>Kaioh's line had 2000 years to prepare a counter for Musou Tensei
No they didn't. Musou Tensei was never mastered before Kasumi Kenshiro/63rd Grand Master of Hokuto Shinken. On top of that, there was no split off that early that lead to Ryuuken branching away from the main Hokuto Shinken lineage. Kaioh developed a counter for Musou Tensei entirely on his own, without any knowledge or training or experience against Musou Tensei to begin with.
>diversion
It worked twice on Kenshiro and on top of that Kenshiro himself couldn't utilize Musou Tensei to beat Kaioh.
>Also Kaioh's line had 2000 years to prepare a counter for Musou Tensei.
Nope. Ryoo doesn't even branch the new style of Hokuto Ryuuken until about 200-300 years after Hokuto Shinken was already established and no one besides Kaioh ever utilized Anryu Tenha, implying it was original to him and him alone.
>It worked twice on Kenshiro and on top of that Kenshiro himself couldn't utilize Musou Tensei to beat Kaioh.
Did you even read the manga/watch the anime? It only works in the initial encounter.
In their final fight, Ken is able to utilize Musou Tensei once he figures out the trick to dispelling the illusion and completely wreck Kaioh effortlessly to the point that Kaioh just crawls away on the ground like a bitch crying for mommy (literally) and kills himself.
>watch the anime
The anime is just an adaption and its been years for me, I'm going by what I remember in the manga. Either way, your claim Hokuto Ryuuken practitioners spent "2000 years" training to counter Musou Tensei isn't true at all.
The majority of the visible stars in the sky are binary systems. There are a lot of single stars too but they're mostly red dwarfs which are too faint to see with the naked eye.
>Either way, your claim Hokuto Ryuuken practitioners spent "2000 years" training to counter Musou Tensei isn't true at all.
I concede I was incorrect on that one, what I said still stands though.
Kaioh can't do shit against Ken and Musou Tensei once Anryu Tenha is dispelled, that's a fact.
Meanwhile Raoh, canonically and factually unlocked his own Musou Tensei and despite running completely on fumes still put up a very even fight with Ken.
And Ken himself straight up admits he would've lost if Raoh wasn't fighting on fumes, ergo Raoh > Ken > Kaioh and by extension Raoh > Kaioh.
Quads confirm Asura a shit
>Buronson made Kenshiro a literal cuckold
That's just pathetic. Ken deserved better.
>Meanwhile Raoh, canonically and factually unlocked his own Musou Tensei
Because canonically and factually, Kenshiro spared him. It is also true that Raoh was completely demolished by Kenshiro before their penultimate rematch final fight and stood no chance against him till he had to cry himself into getting MT as well.
The rest of what your saying isn't true at all and speculative at best at tenuously trying to argue with circumstantial claims that Kaioh is inferior to Raoh.
>watched the anime and complain about "muh cucking".
But it's literally cucking. There's no other way to describe Raoh having raped Yuria and conceived a child that Ken later on raises.
Is it rape if it's consensual?
It was stated that Yuria had feelings for both of them and Raoh was the first to unlock her autism, but Ken was the first one that approached her.
user I don't think Yuria would fuck Raoh after he killed Shin and took her as a slave. That seems retarded.
She willingly gives herself over to Raoh though and willingly allows him to kill her with no regrets or ill will, that's kind of her gimmick of being the Star of the Compassionate Mother also known as Star of the Slut
I don't think the Star of Compassionate Mother means you hop on any dick you see. Otherwise Shin wouldn't have had to force Yuria to go with him.
Having read this interview Buronson proposes that Yuria could be the mother but doesn't set it in stone. I don't know why you keep saying it's definite.
she seemed like such a dignified and loyal woman, are females destined to be whores everywhere even in fiction?
Raoh's BBC was too tempting, she just couldn't wait to get BLACKED
Roah isn't a nigger
>curly hair
>brown skin
>not black
*smacks lip* Ayo wite boi, don b lik dat, ya woman jus lik dat BBC more
陰茎王
It's just one female user projecting her Raoh lust, user.
Odds are Ryu's mother is some groupie that Raoh boned as he was going full Ken-Oh.
he's Sicilian
There's 2 likely candidates going by canon.
Yuria and Reina.
Reina seems like the most likely candidate. I just can't see Yuria fucking anyone but Ken, she loved that nigga.
Yuria should have stayed dead after Shin
Truth
Sweet!
>Yuria wouldn't fuck her half-brother Juuza
What a slut
Yuria is a slut and you can't prove me wrong. A piece of shit slut that got brave men killed for her own sake and the true villain of HnK.
Question to the fan base. Kenshiro, Raoh, Kaioh vs Toki WITHOUT the radiation poisoning. I was told Toki would win. Is this true?
It's unsure with a 3 vs. 1, especially with Kaioh's floating wizardry bullshit, but healthy Toki is basically the single greatest martial artist in the series. It depends on if Unconscious Transmigration could defeat him.
He would defeat his two older brothers with "relatively" little issue. They would probably hurt him just enough to give Kenshiro an advantage. But Kenshiro vs. healthy Toki, iirc Kenshiro said so himself he would lose.
I took to be asking about all three fighting a healthy Toki at once. IIRC, Kenshiro's last comment about a healthy Toki being able to defeat him comes before Unconscious Transmigration appears in the series.
